Homeopathic Treatment for Acidity!

Homeopathic Treatment for Acidity!

What is acidity?

Acidity is a group of symptoms that is caused by excess acid that is produced by the gastric glands present in the stomach. Gastric or hydrochloric acid is produced naturally in the stomach. This helps in digestion and breaking down of food. Excess production of this acid is triggered due to acidic foods, dehydration, alcohol and stress, thus giving rise to acidity.

In case of acidity, the excess acid moves up from the stomach to the food pipe. Uncomfortable symptoms include heaviness, sour taste in the mouth along with burning sensations in the throat or stomach.

Causes of acidity:

  1. Binge eating.
  2. Consuming food stuff like chocolates, fatty food, spicy food, non-vegetarian food and coffee.
  3. Smoking, tobacco chewing, alcohol.
  4. Intake of medicines like aspirin, antibiotics, NSAIDs.
  5. Stress and depression.
  6. GERD (Gastro oesophageal reflux disease), peptic ulcer

How does homeopathy address this issue?

The homeopathic mode of treatment offers a complete cure of acidity with natural medicines. Homeopathic medicines for acidity are effective in treating both acute and chronic cases of acidity. The various antacids prescribed in the conventional mode offer only a temporary relief, while homeopathic treatment promises to give a permanent cure for acidity. Homeopathic medicines help in strengthening the sphincter at the junction of the oesophagus and stomach. This prevents the reflux of acid stomach contents into the oesophagus and throat, thus aiding in establishing a cure of acidity.

It is a popular system of medicine which follows a holistic approach without any side effect. Homeopathy addresses the underlying causes of the symptom so that the administration of a remedy can stimulate the individual’s immune system and hence, aid the body in healing itself. When an appropriate medication for the treatment of acidity is chosen, every aspect of the patient should be taken into consideration.

Homeopathy, being a non-toxic form of medication, can be very useful for treating acidity. Some of the medications are discussed below:

  1. Carbo Veg: It is one of the most common homeopathic medications that is used to treat gas that is formed inside the stomach during a bout of acidity.
  2. Natrum Carb: This can be used be used to relieve the acidity resulting from reactions occurring in the food pipe. A calculated dosage of “natrum carb” helps in calming down the reactions that take place in the food pipe and thus, relieves you from the resulting discomfort.
  3. Nux Vomica: This is a popular homeopathic medication that is used to address various forms of stomach ache, including pains resulting from acidity.
  4. Arsenicum album: This is used to treat symptoms such as a burning sensation in the stomach along with the food moving up to the oesophagus. This burning pain is felt all along the food pipe right up to the throat.

These are just a few of the commonly used Homeopathic remedies and are mentioned only to create awareness about the effectiveness of Homeopathic medicines for Acidity. It is not advisable to resort to self-medication for any disease.

I was diagnosed anal fissure, both anterior and posterior position. Is it normal anal fissure? Where generally anal fissure occurs in posterior midline position. I have no chronic disease, my colonoscopy report normal.

General Surgeon,
Usually fissure in ano occurs posteriorly but if it occurs anteriorly then other causes like TB, crohn's disease etc has to be thought about. Or rarely maybe a fissure which has come anteriorly without any of these issues. So evaluation for TB also has to be performed .or take usual treatment for fissure like dilzem ointment three to four times per day.

Hello lybrate user. Gas trouble is due to irregular diet habits. You can take the help of allopathic med. For emergency, but not on regular basis. Taking these medicines for long time have definitely many side effects. So better you try to take healthy meals at regular time. Don't skip meals or replace it with junk foods. Take aprox 10 - 12 glasses of water per day. Even after following these things if you are suffering a lot of gas trouble you can take help of homoeopathic med. Puls 30 / 2 globs x 3 times a day / 15 day.

Hi, welcome to lybrate, at your age pimples & pimples marks are very common, they are basically infections in your skin pores (glands) in which sweat is forming and also due to some hormonal changes. If you want complete cure of pimples you have to be infection free, as skin have very little blood supply, so it takes time to remove infections. If you will trust me, I can cure it but it will take time and some precautions requires for complete cure, please upload its photo, regards

Respected lybrate-user hi don't get confused first of all try to analyse why it again happened after control from medicines is it due to hard stool or change of food habits if yes then it's your fault & you have to take care of that in all future period & if not then means surgery may be necessary. Currently you may continue medicines & then decide with time it's not emergency at all for surgery dear thanks regards.

Experiment with fiber. When you have irritable bowel syndrome, fiber can be a mixed blessing. Although it helps reduce constipation, it can also make gas and cramping worse. The best approach is to slowly increase the amount of fiber in your diet over a period of weeks.A number of different medications can be used to help treat IBS, including: antispasmodics – which help reduce abdominal (stomach) pain and cramping. laxatives – which can help relieve constipation. antimotility medicines – which can help relieve diarrhoea. Most symptoms tend to worsen after eating. Typically, a flare-up may last 2-4 days, and then symptoms either improve or go away completely. IBS signs and symptoms vary considerably from patient to patient.
