Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Since you have asked for specific ointment or local spray I will suggest you that only. Backache is the commonest ailment. Do not worry, rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. For pain knee, I think physiotherapy should help her, unless, if some deficiency was in the operative procedure. Any way show me rays of knee& of back also.

Dear lybrate reader the reason for your back pain could be linked to your over all health and your way of postures used while sitting /lying / stooping etc. I must say you should try to improve your resistance by doing back exercise like stretching backwardly in order to give push to your back muscles and try to improve a bit esp your weight. Walk and take nutrious diet - must go for vitamin-d and vitamin b-12 test. Try to maintain yourself by diet and life style your backache will go off speedily.

Sudden burning like sensation (pain) in left hand thumb. May I know what's wrong?

MPT - Orthopedic Physiotherapy, Fellowship in Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (FOR)
Physiotherapist, Kolkata
Sudden burning like sensation (pain) in left hand thumb. May I know what's wrong?
Hello, your pain and burning like sensation is an altered sensation called as paraesthesia which generally is due to problem in the neck vertebra and it's compromised nerve supply. This is caused to faulty neck posture, forward neck, prolonged wrist and finger overuse which over stresses the structure and it's underlying components like muscles, ligament, tendons etc. Your burning sensation in thumb could be due to biomechanical misalignment in the c5-c6 vertebra median nerve. Get a xray done for your cervical spine ap view and lateral (not a stress xray view). This will help to decipher the problem accurately along with needed further examination. In the mean time avoid stress, correct your posture. You can try median nerve flossing exercise as many times possible in a day until your symptoms subside significantly. Remember this is a temporary solution. In order to get it fixed, you must visit a skilled orthopedic manual therapist. You may need supplement to keep your joints and nervous system healthy. Take, boswellia serrata (shallaki) 350 mg twice daily after meal for three months. Hope this helps. Thanks.

use our (NOPAIN]OIL for knee pain.Applying cold compresses to the painful knee is one of the best and easiest ways to reduce pain and swelling. The cold will constrict the blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the affected area and thus reducing swelling. It will also give you relief from the pain. Wrap a handful of ice cubes in a thin towel. Apply the compress to the affected knee area for 10 to 20 minutes. Do this two or three times daily until your pain is gone. A bag of frozen peas also works well as a cold compress. You can opt for alternating hot and cold compresses as well for chronic pains.

Carpel tunnel syndrome needs surgery by an expert surgeon, please maintain her ppbs between 140-160 mg/dol. Don't give any pain killer for pain but in case of severe pain you can use volini spray locally.
