Dental anxiety is a common presentation that can be treated. A negative dental experience is a strong predictor of dental anxiety. Sedation can be an effective way to alleviate a patient’s stress and anxiety during dental treatment, enabling work to be undertaken more comfortably.

Is it normal to feel pain while chewing in the tooth after final filling of the root canal?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Yes sir. Unless you crown the tooth it is too weak for standing forces of mastication. In fact it is too brittle that the tooth may even break. So please chew food only after you cap or crown the tooth.

On a daily basis, your mouth is home to over 100,000,000 micro-creatures who are swimming, feeding, reproducing, and depositing waste in your mouth. Makes you want to brush your teeth, doesn’t it?

Dear doctor, I have a cough problem since last 10 years but its not constantly. And I am also facing mouth ulcer its ...
There are so many causes of mouth ulcers like- -stress or tissue injury is thought to be the cause of simple mouth ulcers. -certain foods, including citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemons, oranges, pineapples, apples, figs, tomatoes and strawberries), can trigger a mouth ulcer. -sometimes a sharp tooth surface also trigger mouth ulcers. -some cases of complex mouth ulcers are caused by an underlying health condition, such as an impaired immune system; nutritional problems, such as vitamin b-12, zinc, folic acid, or iron deficiency and gastrointestinal tract disease, such as coeliac disease and crohn's disease. -when you first quit smoking, you may develop more mouth ulcers than normal, but this is temporary. Usually ulcer heals by itself only within 1 week. You can take becosule capsule' once in a day for 1 week for faster recovery. Temporarily you can apply mucopain gel over ulcer for relief.

Eat lot of fruits & green leafy vegetables & drink plenty of water. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need coronoplasty (smoothen teeth edges) along with t. Rebagen 10, morning one tab & one at night for 5 days, c. Becosules 5 cap, for five days in the morning after meals. Hexigel ointment on the area of ulcer. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical. Strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

I am bleeding my teeth, bad breath and I tried all toothpaste but not effect any else.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
I am bleeding my teeth, bad breath and I tried all toothpaste but not effect any else.
Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

By using a wire brush, gently clean between brackets (under the wires) to get the plaque off. It is very necessary to keep the mouth free from plaque during the orthodontic treatment.

What if Crown of root canal treatment opened, Can I leave it as opened for 2 months?

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS, Medicine
Dentist, Mohali
What if Crown of root canal treatment opened, Can I leave it as opened for 2 months?
Hello lybrate-user, Please don't think of it as the crown given after RCT is meant to support and strengthen the tooth! If you do not get your crown placed within 1 week, then due to physiological movement of teeth and gums the crown won't fit back on your tooth. You will have to pay and get a new crown made and worse your Tooth might fracture due to chewing forces. Regards.
