All about Rhinitis

MBBS, MS - ENT
ENT Specialist, Delhi
All about Rhinitis

Rhinitis is an irritable medical condition where the mucous lining of a person's nose swells up. The term is more of a category and less of a definitive way to describe something specific. Rhinitis involves a host of other conditions that affect the mucous membranes of your nose. If you were not aware, common cold is also a kind of rhinitis. Rhinitis can cause acute touchiness in the inner lining of the nose leading to continuous discharges from one's nose. It can also lead to clogging of your nose or inflammation of the internal tissues.

Rhinitis can be divided under two main types; allergic and non- allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis, popularly known as hay fever is caused due to contact with allergens that are usually undamaging. However, in case of non- allergic rhinitis the symptoms take after that of the allergic type but no particular causal factor can be identified.

Factors that can increase your propensity to suffer from rhinitis of any kind are:

  • Pollen from flowers
  • Inhaling certain substances can be harmful; smell of certain chemicals is bad too.
  • Both active as well as passive smoking can be detrimental
  • High levels of air pollution contributes to the risk
  • Weather conditions affect your health; a windy yet humid weather can aggravate rhinitis.

Common symptoms of rhinitis can be listed as below:

  1. A person suffering from this condition might catch a cold all of a sudden.
  2. People, usually little children, might even face high fevers.
  3. Your nose tends to be runny. After the infection subsides, chances of a thick, sticky discharge are more.
  4. Exhaustion is also felt in combination with headaches and teary eyes.
  5. The nature of your nasal discharge tells the doctor if you are suffering from an allergy or from a viral infection.

A few preventive measures to aid you against rhinitis:

  1. Rhinitis can be communicable and in most cases it is so. Therefore a person should not share his or her utensils and other personal things such as towels or handkerchiefs with any other person.
  2. One should not be in close proximity of another infected person.
  3. Hands are the most common sources of infection. One must wash his or her unclean hands before touching the face.

What are the symptoms of white hair in young age, what can I do to prevent white hair?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
What are the symptoms of white hair in young age, what can I do to prevent white hair?
Steps to prevent and cure hair greying 1. Constant exposure of hair to heat is one of the major reason for early greying of hair. Heat removes moisture from hair making it dry and rough. If not taken proper care our hair starts becoming weak and white. Some of the precautions that can be taken are as follows- a. Try to remain in shade during peak sun hours. b. Wear a hat, cap or a cover your hair with a scalf to prevent direct contact of hair with sun c. Avoid taking hot water baths. This removes the moisture from hair making hair grey. d. Avoid using blowers at very high temperature, instead lower the temperature and then use to keep hair healthy. 2. Diet is also an important factor for keeping hair black and strong. Lack of vitamins and minerals can lead to greying and weak hair. Lack of vitamin B12 makes hair white while deficiency of mineral zinc leads to hairfall. Hence eat a balance diet with adequate vitamins and minerals to provide complete nourishment to hair. Take a vitamin B12 capsule or a multi vitamin capsule to get rid of grey hair. Eat fruits, vegetables, proteins, and adequate water to keep hair strong and moisturized. Include vitamin A, B, C, E and minerals like zinc, copper, iron and folic acid for maintaining the dark colour of your hair. 3. Chemical hair products can also lead to grey hair in a young age. Avoid using low quality hair products as these products contain chemicals like ammonia, chlorine etc. that can remove the natural darkness from hair and also make it roots weak. Instead use chemical free products which contain natural extracts to maintain the darkness of hair. 4. Chlorine water in swimming pools can damage the quality of hair. Regular contact of hair with such water can decolourise its colour. Wear swimming cap while you enter the pool. Following these precautions will prevent greying of hair. 5. Biotin present in cucumber, oats, almonds can make your grey hair black. Biotin have properties that help to maintain the dark colour of hair. It has the ability to darken white hair and make hair soft. Hence eat biotin rich foods to cure greying of hair. 6. Stress is condition that leads to degradation of our entire body. It damages our skin and hair taking away the moisture and making it look dull. Stress can also make your hair grey. So avoid stress and try to remain happy always. Try yoga, medication or try some exercise to prevent premature greying of hair. 7. Melanin deficiency in hair also leads to hair whitening. As we grow old melanin in hair starts decreasing and hence our hair becomes grey in old age. 8. Every day scalp massages are very important to restore the darkness of hair. The head massage helps to improve blood circulation in the area, which is very important because the hair is fed mainly through this, and this aspect is very important because the first grey hairs appear in temples because the blood flow is reduced. You can do the massages yourself or ask a family member for it.

I have lose of weight I have less weight how to increased it? Please advise.

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda,
I have lose of weight I have less weight how to increased it? Please advise.
Eat more than three meals a day. If you naturally have a really fast metabolism, eating three meals a day, no matter whats in them, isn't going to help you bulk up.your body burns calories fast, so you need to feed it more than it can use up right away. That means eating not just when you're hungry, but throughout the day. Aim to eat five meals a day to gain weight. Stick to whole foods loaded with nutrients. To gain healthy weight, eat food that's nutrient rich and nourishing. while you could easily gain weight by drinking sugary sodas and eating large pizzas every day, this can wreck your metabolism and cause you to gain fat instead of muscle. When you're choosing food to eat, try the following look for foods that are relatively unprocessed. For example, choose old-fashioned oatmeal instead of instant, and go for fresh chicken as opposed to processed lunch meat cook as many meals from scratch as you can. Avoid getting frozen dinners, fast food and snack foods, which contain a lot of salt, sugar and other fillers that aren't nutritious. Focus on protein, fats and carbohydrates. These are the three staples that will help you gain weight, and you need plenty of each of them to stay healthy. Focus on incorporating protein, fats and carbohydrates into every meal you eat so your diet stays balanced. Here are some examples of good choices in each category proteins: eggs, salmon, tuna, and other fish;, and ham; chicken breasts and thighs; lean and steaks? fats: olive oil, safflower oil, coconut oil, and grape seed oil; avocados, walnuts, almonds, flax seeds carbohydrates: fruits and vegetables; beans, lentils, peas; brown rice, whole grain bread, whole grain pasta and other whole grain products; honey and fruit juice for ayurvedic medicene contact purna clinic gulbarga in 1 month wt increas e4-5 kg no any side effect you take 1 month trail pck and course is 3month.

apple cider vinegar as a dandruff treatment, as the acidity of apple cider vinegar changes the pH of your scalp, making it harder for yeast to grow. Mix a quarter cup apple cider vinegar with a quarter cup water in a spray bottle and spritz on your scalp. Wrap your head in a towel and let sit for 15 minutes to an hour, then wash your hair as usual. Do this twice a week. or Aspirin contains the same active ingredient (salicylic acid) as many medicated dandruff shampoos. Keep flaking in check by crushing two aspirins to a fine powder and adding it to the normal amount of shampoo you use each time you wash your hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for 1-2 minutes, then rinse well and wash again with plain shampoo. Diet to reduce cholesterol level 1. Oats 2. Red wine 3. Salmon & fatty fish 4. Nuts6. Beans7. Chocolate

Otrivin (or other topical nasal decongestant) is not a very good medicine. I know it gives immediate relief but on long term use it has side effect (rhinitis medicamentosa) leading to persistent nasal obstruction for which it is used.

Dear, shampoos and oils do not make much change because, they hardly penetrate layers of skin, where roots (live part of hair) are present. Instead concentrate on food, if all other factors are fine. -protein rich diet, dry fruits-almonds, dates.
