If you have normal skin, wash your face with cleansers which suit your skin. And then wipe your skin with an alchohol-free, hydrating toner and use a moisturizer later.

I am 21, male. I have this dry skin on my face for past couple of months, I have changed the soap, face wash to get rid of that but nothing helped. What should I have to do now?

Without immediate care, dry skin can lead to cracking and bleeding, and harsh winter wind makes the problem worse. Additional moisture helps, but you need to do more to actually counteract these effects and keep skin looking youthful and smooth. Try these tips: 1.Choose lukewarm water to avoid stripping as many oils away from the skin. 2. Applying moisture to damp skin helps seal that dampness into the skin. Use liberally every time you wash. 3. Go for an oil-based rather than a water-based solution, as it will more likely to help your skin retain moisture. 4.We tend to drink less water in the winter because we turn to hot drinks like cocoa and tea, but don't forget that your skin needs hydration from the inside, out. A little warm water with lemon can be very refreshing and hydrating at the same time. 5.Dryer areas like hands, feet, elbows, and knees have thin skin and tend to lose moisture faster than other areas on the body. Consider slathering on a deep moisturizing balm at night, then wear cotton gloves and socks to seal in the moisture until morning. 6. Get an exfoliating mask and use it on your face and your hands, as well as gently on your lips, then follow immediately with moisture to truly see a smoother difference. Exfoliating body washes are also helpful in the winter months. 7.Eating foods high in water content can help hydrate your skin from the inside out. Try watermelon, can notaloupe, apples, oranges, kiwi, and watery veggies like celery, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, and carrots. Make sure you are getting enough vitamin C and zinc to support the healthy production of collagen and elastin. Also consider an omega-3 supplement, or consume more fatty fish and flaxseed to give your skin the building blocks it needs to appear supple and smooth. 8. Cleansers can be extremely drying to the skin. After cleansing, don't leave the skin naked for more than 30 seconds, as this can dehydrate it, leading to increased dryness. Apply a hydrating toner and moisturizer to seal in moisture. 9. Homemade hydrating masks can provide needed moisture in the winter months. Use natural moisturizing ingredients like honey, avocado, yogurt, olive and jojoba oils, almond oil, bananas, and aloe. Mix what you like together to create a cream or paste, and leave on skin for 10-30 minutes for lasting hydration. Homeopathy offers a very effective mode of treatment for dry skin. The dry skin is treated with natural medicines in Homeopathy and are totally free from any side effect and act as a natural source to nourish the skin, remove the dryness and replenish the skin's normal texture. You can consult me online through Lybrate for skin care treatment and medicines along with dietary instructions and lifestyle modifications. Your feedback and recommendation matters. Thank-you.

I have dark lips. Can you give me tips how to make it pink and is there any diet I should follow.

General Physician,
Use natural sugar to exfoliate dark dead skin on lips. Sugar helps to exfoliate skin in the process removing dead cells that are naturally dark. Add two tablespoon of granulated sugar to water and make a thick paste. Use this to scrub your lips gently, automatically the dead skin is removed instantly or immediately. Mix some water with the baking soda to form a paste. Apply this paste on your lips and scrub in a gentle circular motion with a toothbrush or your fingertip. Scrub for two to three minutes. Rinse thoroughly, pat dry, and apply a lip balm or some olive oil.

Hi I'm 24 years old female and I have loads of blackheads and dark circle please tell me how to get rid of it and tell me how to get a glowing skin!

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. Would tell you about your queries one by one. For Blackheads: Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days. Also, use Bakson’s Apricot scrub 1-2times a week on the area. For Dark Circles: Always take a balanced diet rich in green leafy vegetable, dairy products and all types of fruits to keep your body healthy. It is advisable to have at least 10-12 glasses of water and include fresh fruit daily. It is also advisable to restrict the intake of caffeinated drinks such as tea, coffee, alcohol and other caffeinated drinks as it aggravates dehydration. Take enough of 6-8hrs. Of sleep. Avoid taking stress/ tension. Do daily exercising regularly as it increases oxygen carrying capacity of the cells and tissues. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines – Schwabe's Cina 1M/ one dose at night for 10 days; Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. - both twice daily for 20 days. For Glowing Skin: If you are genuinely happy from inside and taking nutritious, healthy food and daily yoga or some kind of exercises, it will be automatically reflected on your face. Yes, the colour which is inherited from your parents/ ancestors, cannot be changed, but you can try to get glow on your face!! Daily Regime: Apart from these, you do follow CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30 – a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare cream may be, 20-30 minutes before going out daily and repeat it's application after every 3-4hrs.) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. Eat right and healthy that too on time, relieve your stress/ tensions, sleep well, stop smoking, as this restricts blood flow to your face and leaves you with a greyish complexion. lead a healthy lifestyle! Apart from this, avoid anger, anxiety, fear which increases stress hormone in the body and subsequently makes your complexion darker! (Hormonal imbalances also plays a major role). If the dull and dark skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter. Diet: -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon,orange,gooseberry,etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce) . If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: You can also use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel daily at night.
