As your last mense were on 18 feb, and if you r pregnant now, you can confirm that only after 25th march. As you r having spotting since 5 days, which goes more in favour of hormonal imbalance in this month than pregnancy. There is no need to take any medicines as of now for the spotting.

80% of normal healthy couple may take up to 1 year for conception. Rest 20 % may take up to 2 years. 1 month is really short time. Go for preconceptional counselling & advice from doc.

Hello Dr. My wife has given birth to one baby son on 13 june. 2012. But after that she is not getting pregnant. She is suffering from irregular period. Please help.

M.B.S.(HOMEO), MD - Homeopathy
Homeopath, Visakhapatnam
Irregular or abnormal ovulation accounts for 30% to 40% of all cases of infertility. Having irregular periods, no periods, or abnormal bleeding often indicates that you aren't ovulating, a condition known clinically as anovulation. Although anovulation can usually be treated with fertility drugs, it is important to be evaluated for other conditions that could interfere with ovulation, such as thyroid conditions or abnormalities of the adrenal or pituitary glands. Homeopathic treatment: pulsatilla is one of the basic remedy for this problem. When the periods (menstruation cycle) is disturbed i. E. Periods are not on time may be early or late and also there is a pain in lower abdomen (menstrual cramps). The patient is depressed or sad. Lower abdominal pains & cramps, if these symptoms are present this is the best remedy to be considered. Jonesia ashoka is another basic remedy for the disturbed periods. It is commonly used in most of the female problems. It regulates the menstrual cycle and put it on to the right track. Gossypium is another remedy when there is disturbed periods with lack of bleeding, periods are usually late, the patient is also anemic & has low iron. This remedy should be avoided if there is a chance of pregnancy because this remedy may start the bleeding. Sepia is the remedy to be used when there is lower abdominal pain present with the feeling that something is coming out of the lower part (vagina) & the patient feels better when she sits with the leg crossing each other. The patient has also the problem of leucorrhea before or after the periods. Natr mur is one of the best remedy when the patient is anemic, low iron and there are gaps in the period or the periods skips many days or months. This remedy should also be avoided if there is a chance of pregnancy. Trillium pend is used when the periods are very heavy & the bleeding is almost out of control, patient feels dizzy due to weakness, this remedy also works when the patient is pregnant & the bleeding started at once, it can help to stop the bleeding.

Hi, if the pregnancy is less than 7 wks it can be aborted with the help of tablets. If more than 7 wks then a short surgical procedure is to be done. You should do a sonography and see a gynaecologist.

Tips and Foods to Help You Get Regular Periods

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Haldwani
Tips and Foods to Help You Get Regular Periods

If your period is irregular or nonexistent, you won't benefit from the effects of high estrogen. The point of highest estrogen is your pre-ovulatory stage. If you're on a 28 day cycle, ovulation occurs from days 12-16 (though it varies, depending on your stress level, the foods you eat, the exercise you're doing, etc). This means that pre-ovulation occurs on about days 8-11 (but again, it varies from woman to woman).

Your first step in regulating your periods is figuring out what's causing an irregular menstrual cycle. Once you determine the cause, you'll be better able to find an effective treatment.

1. Omega-3 fatty acids - salmon, sardines, fish oil supplements

The blood vessels in your ovaries are tiny, which makes them vulnerable to damage and poor circulation. Smoking, obesity, and high cholesterol can negatively affect your ovarian blood vessels, which blocks hormones and blood flow. Fish oils enhance blood circulation, reduce damage from free radicals, fight the effects of aging, and increase dopamine (which improves your mood!).

2. Non-white foods to regulate your menstrual cycle

Most natural foods are not white, so you can assume that if a food is white, it is probably processed to the point of being unhealthy! To make your menstrual cycle regular, avoid white flour, sugar, white potatoes, white bread, white pasta, and white rice. They disrupt your menstrual cycle by creating insulin surges that result in fat storage. This excess fat storage negatively affects ovulation and your periods - and can cause irregular periods. The simple tip on how to get regular periods: stop eating food that is white.

3. Protein - cottage cheese, lean meats, nuts to balance your hormones

Finding sources of balanced protein can be a challenge for busy women, but it is a must for hormonal balance. The more you balance your hormones, the more regular your menstrual cycle will be. Plant proteins are especially good for enhancing fertility and hormonal balance: almonds, walnuts, peanuts, cheese, hard boiled eggs, soy chips, hummus, canned sardines, and edamame.

4. Healthy beverages - because your cycle is affected by what you drink

Another 'food' to make menstruation regular is nettle leaf tea. The ingredients are so healthy: Organic Fennel Seed, Organic Ginger Root, Organic Cinnamon Bark, Organic Chamomile Flower, Organic Raspberry Leaf, Organic Anise Seed, Dong Quai Root Extract, Chaste Tree Berry Extract, Juniper Berry Extract, and Organic Parsley Leaf.

5. Vitamin D for regular periods

Vitamin D is a little hard to come by in food, Eat vitamin D-fortified milk products, tuna, egg yolks, salmon, sardines, and (yuck) cod liver oil. This vitamin improves communication between your cells, which stabilizes your hormones. Vitamin D is also vital for cancer protection - especially breast, colon, ovarian, and prostate cancers.

To increase your vitamin D and make your menstrual cycle regular, make sure you're getting enough sunlight. Where you live and the color of your skin determines how much time you should spend in the sun, but my research tells me that the average North American should spend about 10 minutes in the sun about 2-3 times per week. If you aren't getting enough vitamin D and you want to regulate your menstrual cycle, check out the vitamin D supplement above.

6. Dark chocolate to balance your menstrual cycle

Chocolate contains flavenoids, which have estrogen-like activity and help improve circulation by reducing platelet clumping. Flavenoids also enhance microcirculation in the ovaries and endocrine glands and increase dopamine (a 'feel good' hormone). Not just any old chocolate will do: eat dark chocolate that contains at least 70% cocoa solids.

But don't eat too much chocolate. You'll gain weight and confuse your hormones, which can contribute to irregular periods.

7. Castor oil and hot water bottles

Here's how to use castor oil and hot water bottles to regulate your period:

Moisten a flannel pack (an old T-shirt will do) with warmed castor oil. Place the oil-side down on your lower abdomen with a hot-water bottle on top of the flannel pack. Cover with a towel. Do this daily for an hour - but not when you're getting your period) for a few months. Then, gradually reduce frequency to twice a month.Your period might become heavier or more painful, but that's just stagnation clearing from the uterus.

8. If your periods are heavy, consider iron supplements

If your periods are both irregular and heavy, you might consider taking iron supplements. One of the common causes of iron deficiency and anemia is heavy bleeding during menstruation. If you don't get enough iron in your diet or the foods you eat, your body's iron stores will diminish and you'll experience fatigue.

9. Learn about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

While irregular periods are common among teenage girls, an underlying hormonal disorder may be the cause of long-term irregular periods in adult women. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is an endocrine disorder that is characterized by an excess of androgens or male hormones in the body. The imbalance of hormones interferes with the growth and release of eggs from the ovaries, which can prevent ovulation and menstruation.

Menstruation begins on average at age 12 for most women, and a normal menstrual cycle is approximately 28 days. Girls should have a regular menstrual cycle within approximately two years after they get their first period, or by age 17 at the latest. If you've been getting your period for more than two years and you're over 17 years old, you may want to talk to a doctor about how to regulate your period - and you may need more than information about foods to make your menstrual cycle regular.

Hello, Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) occurs when very small cysts (small, fluid-filled sacs) develop in the ovaries. The usual symptoms of PCOS are light periods or no periods at all. This is because, in women with PCOS, ovulation (the release of an egg) may not take place as often as normal. You should opt Homoeopathic treatment, it has cure for PCOS. Treatment is based on totality of symptoms and constitution. It takes time but resolve the disease by root.In pcos first we target to get your periods back to normal. For excess you can take phytolaca tablets, 3 tabs with hot water tds., but along with this firstly you are advised to take treatment for PCOD.

A-around 15% of pregnancies gets miscarried, that is nature's rule. You should avoid next pregnancy for 6 months from the last abortion. Chances of repeat abortion or pretem delivery increases if one becomes pregnant within 6 months of miscarriage. Also if abortion/ miscarriage was caused by any viral infection, then it will get cured automatically within 3 months time. Use contraception for 1 more months. Then only plan for pregnancy and then if you do not get pregnant within 6 months of that then only you need treatment.

Usually we don't prescribe Primolute N for more than one week. Now you have taken it for 15 days, usually no serious side effects but may cause acne, breast pain, headache etc. There is no harm in delaying cycle as we sometimes prescribe drugs to stop periods for even 6 months. Son, don't worry

WHAT MAN / WOMAN WANTS?

MD-Dermatology, MBBS
Sexologist, Pune
WHAT MAN / WOMAN WANTS?

WHAT MAN / WOMAN WANTS?

“The ignorance of women physiology which prevails among most men is boundless and incredible’’

Camille Mauculair

“Honesty is probably the sexiest thing a man cans give to woman”

                                                                                  Debra Messing

An individual lives as a man or as a woman. It is difficult for a man to understand the sexuality of women and vice versa. A man feels that her sexual pleasure is as his. In reality is a lot of difference between the two. Her anatomy hormones and conditioning are responsible for the difference. Till recent times (1976)women never talked about their sexual pleasure. Therefore myths continued to exist.

What Man feels?

“A woman has ten times sex desire than that of a man’’

“To satisfy her,he should have frequent sex with her’’

“She needs a long duration of sex for her sexual satisfaction’’

“If not fully satisfied, she may seek extra marital relationship.’’

“She gets orgasm in her vagina by friction of penis’’

“Man needs to have a thick and long penis for her satisfaction”

“The first experience of sex is very sensational for both.”

“Women is dependent upon man or her orgasm”

“During masturbation the woman puts a long object in her vagina”

“Sex with a virgin woman gives extra a sexual pleasure.”

The facts are:

In man there is no homologous organ like vagina. The biggest misconception is that the women gets erotic vagina. If man were to have vagina, its opening would be 1 inch in front of the anus on the median scrotal raphe. Though the touch sensation is present, it is not as erotic as the touch of glands. This touch can be felt up to one inch deep in the vagina. Beyond that the vagina is insensitive, since it is developed from Endoderm. A woman does not put any long object in her vagina. During masturbating, she stimulates her clitoris and inner side of labia minora.

In man the organ of pleasure and of intercourse is one and the same i.e. penis. In woman, the organ of pleasure is clitoris and the organ of intercourse is vagina. She can have erotic pleasure by stimulating clitoris and without indulging in intercourse. During the intercourse the penis does not touch the clitoris and therefore she does not get the orgasm by vaginal stimulation. A woman, unlike man , self – sufficient for erotic pleasure. Secondly she is devoid of testosterone, a sex-desire stimulating hormone. The hormones present in her are for menstruation, pregnancy, delivery and lactation. For these reasons, woman does not seek sexual pleasure from extra-marital relationship.

Nymphomaniacs, Gigolos and male sex workers are rare to find. A virgin woman is ignorant and inexperienced in the matter of sexual activities. Such woman generally has fear of pain during vaginal penetration.

Frist night after the wedding is also disappointing since both husband and wife are novice, ignorant and inexperienced about sexual act. In general, the woman is not interested in intercourse as much as he is. For her, intercourse is one way of pleasing the person whom she loves. For man it is something ‘taking’ and for woman it is something ‘giving’. For man, it is final goal for woman it is means of achieving the goal. Unlike man, a woman can survive without sexual stimulation for years.

What woman feels?(woman’s  sexual needs)

Woman complains that :

“He makes a lot of haste during the sexual act”

“He does not indulge in sufficient foreplay”

“The foreplay is routine and mechanical”

“He is not romantic”

“As soon as he reaches climax, he turns his face and goes to sleep”

“He leaves me half way”

“He is very selfish in the matter of sex”

“He uses me like a sleeping pill”

“He is interested in nothing else but intercourse”

“He is very rough. I expect him to be slow, soft, honest, and faithfuland spend more time in loving each other.”

“He feels that I should be ready for sex as and when he desires. He never cares for my mood.”

“It is he who decides when, how long how often and in what way to perform sex.”

“I wonder why he goes after other women in spite of providing him everything he desires”

What the Researchers say?Shere Hite:

“Lying on the back and stimulating the clitoral area with hand gives satisfaction physically, but not psychologically. The difference between this and sex with a partner is that the intense heat of another body is missing, plus the stimulation of the other parts of the body. But, Masturbation you can do alone, quickly and you are sure of an orgasm”.

“Majority of woman do not experience orgasm as a result of intercourse”.

“Intercourse is not a reliable way to orgasm”

“Intercourse with or without orgasm is more fulfilling than orgasm without intercourse”

“Affections and closeness were the basic reasons for liking the intercourse, rarely mentioning the orgasm”

“Women have a different arousal system than men. Their arousal is a total body response, rather thana genital one “

“The sequence foreplay, penetration and intercourse followed by male orgasm and end of sequence, is always under the control of man, gives no chance for female orgasm, but teases the women inhumanly”

“Sex is an Activity engaged in by two for the satisfaction of one.”

What Indian women say?

“It is true that woman has more desire for sex. Unlike men, women do not seek extramarital relationship. She will sacrifice everything only for being loved by her husband”

“For sexual pleasure women is not dependent upon man. Her concept of sexual pleasure can be different than that of man”

“Women do not have sex desire as much as men have; otherwise there would have been dens of male sex workers.”

“Intercourse is necessary for fertility but not for woman’s sexual pleasure”

It seems Mother Nature has dissociated the instinct for propagation of life into two components. Majority of pleasure component is given to the male and majority of fertility component is given to the female.
