I am 23 male and my face is oily. My problem is my face has gone very darker in last 10 days. Kindly suggest an ointment/cream, which can tone my face brighter. Thanks in advance.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user,start using a cleanser that has salicylic acid. This will help in reducing the oiliness. Use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 .The sunscreen has to be applied once in 3-4 hours especially between 7 am-5 pm. Please note that the sunscreen has to be applied on all days irrespective of whether you stay at home or go to work and also irrespective of the climatic conditions. Sunscreen decreases the tanning of your skin and hence with regular use your skin tone will be maintained. You can consult a dermatologist in person, so that it would be easier to prescribe other creams or procedures if required to reduce the pigmentation. I hope this answers your query!

Please use Tea tree oil which is excellent for treating acne and pimples. It has antibacterial properties that help fight the bacteria that cause these skin problems. Plus, its soothing properties help reduce the redness and inflammation of pimples. It also helps dry out blackheads and whiteheads. • Just dip a cotton ball in tea tree essential oil and dab it on the affected area. Rinse your face after 15 to 20 minutes. Note: Steer clear of tea tree oil if you have sensitive skin. If you would like to consult with me privately, please click on 'Consult'. recommend me by clicking on recommendation option.

Hi. I have oily face. Even after face wash my face gets too oily within an hour and my tip of the nose appears too shiny. Please suggest me to get rid of it. It feels uncomfortable.

BAMS
Ayurveda, Ambala
To control oily secretion on face follow these methods: * Drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. *Apply rose water on your face daily for 5 minutes. • Use a face pack of fuller's earth (multani mitti) with rose water one time in a day for seven days. It removes toxins from skin. * To control the oily secretion you should maintain your hormonal level. Because imbalance in hormone level causes excessive oil production. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises.

My wife (24yrs. She was suffering from white spots on the body. Please send medicine or ointment.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. White patches/ dots on the skin are a common type of depigmented skin lesion associated with an infection, allergy, or autoimmune disorder. One common cause of white spots, or hypopigmentation, is a fungal infection of the skin known as tinea versicolor (associated with other symptoms, such as itching or dryness on or around the white patches). This fungal infection is not contagious and can be treated easily with over-the-counter medications. The white spots and patches can also be because of deficiency of vitamin D (for which 15-20 minutes of exposure to early morning sunlight without sunscreen is needed, 3-4times a week). Or else they could be idiopathic (i. E, without any cause). Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder which can be treated with homoeopathic medicines, but chances of relapses are also there. Please tell me other symptoms like about sensation on the area, since how long do you have this patch, any family history of white patch, etc. Meantime, you can start giving her homoeopathic medicines - Cina 1M/ one dose daily at night and Ars. Sulph. Flavum. 200/ twice daily for 3 months (it is safe). Apply a good brand's sunscreen with SPF 40 on the skin (specially on the white patches/ spots) 20-30 minutes before going out under the sunscreen and reapply it after 3-4 hrs. again.

Homoeopathy has good treatment for your problem without causing adverse effects. The medicines work internally, tackle the root cause of the problem unlike face cream which is a surface treatment. Take Antim crd 200—once daily in the morning.

To further avoid them, sun protection is required. You need to protect your skin from sun strictly if possible. Dark spots can be removed using laser.

1 year ago She cut her wrist .now her wrist have cut scar .how to clear her wrist scar?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
You may use contractubex gel. Massage it 2-3 times daily and then apply silastic sheet over them and keep it that way for atleast 18 hours a day. Gradually you will see an improvement. If the scars are raised above the skin surface, then intralesional injections of triamnicolone also help a lot. You may see a dermatologist/plastic surgeon personally for that. You have to do the treatment for several months before you start seeing improvement. Thanks.

I have marks of wounds and oily skin what should I use to avoid oil and remove marks.

MD - Skin,VD & Lepxsy
Dermatologist, Hyderabad
Oily skin is a common cosmetic problem that is characterized by medium to large-sized pores, a shiny appearance, especially around the area of the nose, chin, and forehead, and a tendency to develop blemishes and blackheads. Stress, medications, hormones, incorrect products and changes in seasons can rob skin of needed moisture, causing it to produce a surge of oil to compensate for what’s lacking; overuse of products including make up which is not suitable for your skin type, and sun tan can injure skin and cause it to produce excess oil. Skin always reacts in the opposite way to the way we want it to: the more vigorously you attempt to remove the sebum, the more skin will produce oil to replace it. It is therefore important to consult a dermatologist to understand what kind of products are to be used according to your skin type. A dermatologist can help you identify various cleansers, toners and astringents which are most suitable to your skin to not only get immediate relief from oily skin but also avoid unpleasant itching and dryness. There are various chemical peels available which helps in cleaning the pores from within and it is always advisable to get peels done from a dermatologist or cosmetologist only. You can use salicylic acid based face washes regularly to avoid oily skin and should use regularly sun screen lotions.

I am 21 yrs old and my eye has a pigment which looks very ugly in the middle of an eye and have dark circles under my eye. What should I do?

M. sc Psychology, BHMS
Homeopath, Hyderabad
For the pigmentation you mentioned in the middle of eye, you should better to see any ophthalmologist for diagnosis, to rule out any pathology. For dark circles under eyes, apply keera or tomato juice over the patches, or keep flakes of potato or keera[cucumber] over the closed eyes for minimum 10-15 min. Daily wll do help better. Take juice from or direct raw vegetables, which can taken in its raw form also. ; like tomatoes, beetroots, carrots, keera, etc. Keep ice cubes covered with a soft cloth over eyes, whenever you feel strained after reading, or watching tv< or after working more time on computer. Try to get sleep for minimum 6-8 hrs in the light regularly.
