Hello, I'm 20 years old, and I don't feel like eating my food properly and my in laws are forcing us for a baby, and my menstrual cycle will get delayed by 5-7 days from my previous cycle, will it be a problem for me present or in future? And it has become 1 year since we have got married, and till date we didn't try for a baby, of course we had a good sex life but we were under protection. So is it right age for me and my hubby to become parents? If yes, what are the steps to be followed by me? My hubby is 28 and i'm 20 years old.

You are young, and considering your age you can wait for conceiving for a year or two. And the delay of 5-7 days in a cycle is fine no need to worry about that. And regarding diet yes to maintain health and fertility you should take proper diet including fruits and green vegetables & proteins. Also do some regular work out or exercise daily.

HOW TO PREVENT SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES ?

The best ways to avoid getting an STD are to abstain from any sexual contact and be in a monogamous, long-term relationship with an uninfected partner. To reduce the odds of getting STDs:
Ask your partner if he or she has an STD.
Ask partners to be tested before sexual activity.
Use condoms.
Avoid sexual activity if your partner has signs of an STD.
Be aware of symptoms and get regular checkups with your health care provider.

Exercise Guidelines During Pregnancy

Exercise Guidelines During Pregnancy

Advice for an expectant mother is plentiful to come around from family and friends. While it may be well intentional, it may not be the best advice possible. One of the things most people would advise is to avoid exercising as it may affect the health of the mother and the baby. This is in fact a very wrong advice as expectant mothers like everyone need exercise to stay fit and healthy. The only difference from normal people is that certain types of exercises may not be suitable for pregnant women and the nature of exercises may change from trimester to trimester.

Some of the best exercises during pregnancy

  1. Swimming: This one is in fact recommended by doctors as the best and the safest exercise for pregnant women. Swimming is beneficial because of the following reasons:
    • It has immense cardiovascular benefits
    • Large muscles groups are exercised in the process
    • Helps reduce inflammation and swelling
    • Helps with low back pain and relieves the stress on your spine which is caused due to the extra weight you are carrying around.
  2. Walking: This is one of the safest exercise during any trimester as long as you don’t over exert yourself. Walking promotes blood circulation, improves heart health and is all around a good exercise for pregnant women. The key is to invest in a good pair of shoes for walking so as to prevent the knees and legs from jarring and also to support your upper body properly.
  3. Stretching: In the later trimesters, it may be a little difficult to manage other exercises as your body becomes heavier and movement may bse limited. However, you can do basic stretching exercises to improve mobility and also help with circulation.
  4. Weight training exercises: Certain exercises which utilize the weight of your body rather than external weight can be performed easily. You can also use lighter weights to help keep muscle tone and strength. A few examples of these exercises are
    • Side leg lifting: Lie on one side and lift one leg up slightly higher than hip height. You can use your forearm for balance in this case. Keep lifting the leg and hold it there for a few seconds and do the same motions a few times for repetitions.
    • Curling and lifting: Sit on a chair with your back straight with 2 to 4 kilo weights in each hand and curl up your hands up to the shoulders. Sit with your legs spread apart but comfortably. Also start the curl with your fore arms at a 90° angle from your elbows.
    • Yoga and meditation: Yoga is possibly one of the most well suited regimens during pregnancy. Pranayama and meditation can definitely help you be more at peace and also manage many of the changes happening in your body in a much better fashion.

It is best to consult with a specialist or a physiotherapist who can give you a step by step guide as to the exercises you can do and the precautions that you need to take while performing them. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.

Causes of Less Libido in Females

Causes of Less Libido in Females

Loss of sexual desire is more common in women than in men. As many as 3 in 10 women have reduced or limited sexual interest in any kind of sexual activity. While the medical term for this problem is Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD), it is generally understood as a loss of libido.

Following are the causes of less libido in females:

1. Hormonal Disorders:

  • Dryness of the vagina and pain during sexual intercourse may affect sexual drive both mentally and physically.
  • After menopause, drop in the count of testosterone hormone also affects sexual drive which can result in loss of libido.
  • With advancing age, the level of androgens decrease, and hence results in a lack of sexual desire.

2. Lifestyle Disorders:

  • In some of the cases, lack of emotional support in a relationship plays a significant role in the loss of libido. Post baby 'coolness' may also act as a driving force for loss in libido.
  • In today's era, changing lifestyle is drastically affecting our lives. Following an unhealthy lifestyle may result in increased weight that may affect self-image, and indirectly may also affect the sexual desire.
  • Stress and job, family pressure and exhaustion may also influence sexual desire of a woman.

3. Medical Disorders:

  • There are conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids and thyroid disorders that may have a negative impact on the sexual drive of a woman.
  • Certain medicines such as antidepressants, oral contraceptives, and medicines that lower blood pressure may also negatively impact the sexual drive in women.

4. Psychological factors:

  • Increasing cases of depression, anxiety, frustration, stress is also an important cause of loss of libido in the contemporary society.
  • After childbirth, new moms tend to suffer from lack of sleep, insufficient lubrication of the vagina and exhaustion, which may affect her sexual desire.

Causes and Symptoms of Menorrhagia

Menorrhagia is a medical condition in which a woman experiences excessive blood loss during menstruation. Though for some women, heavy bleeding might be normal, but Menorrhagia refers to such a condition in which a woman encounters anomalous bleeding. Generally, menstrual bleeding continues for a maximum period of seven days, however, in case of Menorrhagia, the bleeding continues for more than seven days.

Different causes are responsible for Menorrhagia. Some of the causes are mentioned below:

  1. In case of some women, miscarriage during pregnancy can lead to the development of Menorrhagia.
  2. Hormonal imbalance (especially Estrogen and Progesterone) can cause Menorrhagia.
  3. Any fibroid growth in the uterus region can also result in Menorrhagia.
  4. Birth control procedures like birth control shot, vaginal ring or intake of birth control pills can sometimes lead to a condition of Menorrhagia.
  5. For some women, anovulation (unable to ovulate at least once in a month) may result in Menorrhagia.
  6. Disorder related to platelet count can also cause Menorrhagia.
  7. Uterus cancer can also result in Menorrhagia.
  8. Maladies, related to kidney, liver or thyroid can also result in Menorrhagia.
  9. Sometimes, hereditary bleeding complications like Willebrand's disease (drop in the blood's clotting protein) can also cause Menorrhagia.
  10. At times, pelvic inflammatory diseases such as a fallopian tube infection can cause Menorrhagia.

The most common symptoms of Menorrhagia are as follows:

  1. Constant necessity to replace sanitary pads
  2. Unbearable menstrual cramps
  3. You may often notice passage of blood clots with regular bleeding
  4. Sometimes, the person may become anemic
  5. Body fatigue and drowsiness

Treatment for Menorrhagia: Menorrhagia is easily curable. Many treatment methods are available such as intake of iron tablets to prevent anemia, painkillers like Ibuprofen to control menstrual cramps and hormone therapy to cease excess bleeding. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

I'm doing household work, yoga excercise and taking care of my baby and i'm vegetarioan and taking balanced diet, but still I could not regain my original weight. Give me some solution for my problem.

Hi, it is not that complicated, just think about positive things that you lose 10 kg and now you have to lose approx 8-9 kg only. Just do only one thing exercise or yoga or aerobic dance but for 45 minutes daily intensively that you have to release excessive amount of sweat. And now in your diet, if your baby is on breastfeed, it is good thing, it indicates thar you will lose more weight further but if not then don't worry, have 5-6 frequent and small balanced meal and important thing not to skip breakfast, which is help to boost your metabolism and drink 6-8 glass of water daily. Best wished dietitian ruchi.

Hi, I have seven year old son, we are trying for second baby but failed to conceive. I did my anti mullerian hormone ...
Low AMH means your ovaries r not producing much follicles, which get mature into good quality eggs. D&C is done for diagnosing whether it cycle is proliferative or secretary. Which helps in decision of cause for infertility.

Healthy Habits - Why They Are A Must?

Healthy Habits - Why They Are A Must?

Eating healthy food item like fruits, green leafy vegetables, salad etc. We have always been hearing this from our elders about how a healthy body is key to a healthy mind. Trying to define health in a sentence is possible, but not justifiable because it is an umbrella term for a lot of aspects of our life. Being healthy is that state of our existence where we are happy, content and at the epitome of our fitness. Life is too short to fret over things that make us unhappy, so taking decisions that would make us content mentally and physically is the first step to attaining a healthy lifestyle. Now, one could easily start a debate here stating how eating unhealthy food or indulging in unhealthy habits also make people happy. Yes, they do, but that is a momentary gratification and with one single life, it is essential to think long-term.

This article will have certain tips that could help an individual fall right on track if he/she wants to jumpstart their healthy lifestyle.

  1. Eating healthy food items, should not feel or look like restriction. It should be a mentality, a lifestyle rather than being a meaningless difficult regimen.
  2. In order to avoid unhealthy snacking, it would be a good idea to keep those kinds of food away from the visual arena.
  3. It is not necessary to entirely cut off the love for sweets. It would be great to eat strategic sweets like dark chocolate to fulfil the cravings and not feel guilty about it.
  4. Carrying homemade lunch is a very good idea to keep oneself away from unhealthy restaurant food. The best part about this is that a lot of money is saved.
  5. Proper strategies can definitely get us going. For example, the veggies we eat do not necessarily need to be tasteless. In fact, adding some spices or sauces (made from vinaigrette and different seasonings) can not only make the food taste great, but also help bring out the innovations inside us.
  6. One great way we can keep ourselves motivated is by talking about the dietary plans and goals with a friend and discussing the major healthy lifestyle changes that have already been taken care of.
  7. Keeping a journal about the progress and also rewarding oneself on reaching small goals are amazing ways to keep going.

There are numerous tips for a healthy lifestyle, but one important advice is to avoid alcohol and also other addictive substances like nicotine (which means smoking cigarettes). If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
