I am 12 weeks pregnant. Today I have acute pain in left leg even I am not able to walk.
If there is swelling along with the pain then you should get the doppler test done to rule out dvt in the left leg as it almost always occurs in left leg in pregnancy. In the mean time you can take pain killer like paracetamol to relieve pain.

Hi lybrate-user. As long as you had a normal period after intercourse you can be pretty certain that you are not pregnant. No need to do the test at all.

Ebexid is given for hypothyroidism or goitre (swelling in the neck) and fertisure f is multivitamin tablets, both are not needed at all if you r eating healthy diet. If you have been trying to get pregnant for more than a year, then treatment with clomiphene citrate should be started with follicular monitoring to get pregnant.

Think Twice Before You Drink Water From A Plastic Bottle - It Can Harm You Much!

M.D., M.B.B.S.
General Physician
Ask Free Question
We store water in all sorts of plastic bottles, jugs or containers. It can be low grade or high grade, but plastic is plastic! this is a very harmful daily practice as plastic containers carry lot of chemicals and bacteria.

Let's see the harmful effects of drinking water in plastic bottles:

1. Harmful substances: apart from harmful chemicals in plastic, water when get stored in plastic bottles also produces harmful substances like fluoride, arsenic and aluminium which can be poison for human body. So, drinking water from plastic bottles would mean drinking slow poison that will slowly and steadily deteriorate your health.

2. Dioxin production: plastic does melt in hot environment. And we, often store water in plastic bottles while driving and so many times leave it in the car where it is in the direct exposure of sun. Such heating releases a toxin called dioxin which when consumed can accelerate breast cancer.

3. Bpa generation: biphenyl a is an estrogen-mimicking chemical which can lead to lot of health problems like diabetes, obesity, fertility problems, behavioural problems and early puberty in girls. It's better not to store and drink water from a plastic bottle.

4. Liver cancer and reduced sperm count: because of presence of a chemical called phthalates in plastic, drinking water from plastic bottles can also lead to liver cancer and reduction in sperm count.

5. Vitamin-based bottled water: nowadays, we get water mostly in plastic bottles and to increase its health content, manufacturers make it vitamin-enriched to attract buyers. But this is even more harmful as it carries health-harming additives like food dyes and high fructose corn syrup.

6. Impact on immune system: our immune system is immensely affected when we drink water in plastic bottles. The chemicals from plastic bottles are ingested and tend to disturb our body's immune system.

I hope the above reasons are enough for you to think carefully before you drink water from a plastic bottle the next time. If you need more convincing or would like to understand the effects better, feel free to ask me your query.

Also, if you found this tip helpful, please share this with people you love and care for.

10 Ayurvedic Secrets to Uplift the Emotions and Create Inner Calm

Ayurveda
Ask Free Question
Ayurveda addresses the physical, mental and emotional well-being of a person. According to ayurveda, emotional instability is caused by miscommunication between the head and the heart. Here are ten ayurvedic tips to uplift your emotions and calm your inner self.

Go to bed on time: a good night's sleep is essential not only for your physical health, but also for your mental health. Try going to bed by 9 pm on a regular basis. This will give you a restful night's sleep and allow you to awake feeling refreshed.
Wake up with the sun: an early start to the day keeps you from feeling dull and tired and boosts your energy levels. This also prevents build-up of toxins in your body and helps keep circulation and internal communication lines clear.
Go outdoors: start your day by taking a walk outdoors early morning. This releases positive neurohormones that elevate your mood and activates the body's energy centres.
Avoid constipation: clearing the waste created by your body on a daily basis is crucial to having a calm persona and not suffering from low mood swings. Drink plenty of water and make it a habit to eliminate your bowels at a particular time of the day to prevent constipation. Eating food rich in fiber or eating a few prunes, figs or cooked apples before going to bed can also help prevent constipation.
Eat food that is easy to digest: food that is easy to digest does not cause bloating and other indigestion-related problems. It also prevents the buildup of toxic chemicals and boosts immunity. When your physical health is good, your mood gets elevated as well.
Try herbs and spices: spices and herbs help the body absorb nutrients and prevent the buildup of toxins in your body. Try including flavouring agents like turmeric, amla, peppermint oil, coconut oil and cumin in your food to make yourself feel happier.
Get a massage: a massage relaxes the body and eases stress. It also releases toxins, improves circulation and invigorates the body. Use any oil you like for a massage as each has its own unique properties.
Exercise: regular exercise is one of the cornerstones of good physical and mental health. Aim for at least half an hour rigrous exercise or break it into smaller intervals as per your time suitability. Yoga can also be very beneficial when it comes to elevating your mood.
Pranayama: pranayama is the yogic way of breathing. This teaches you to breathe slowly and consciously so as to release pent up anger, stress etc and calm the mind.
Meditate: regular meditation at the beginning or end of each day can also help calm the body and mind.

Yes, very good approach. Get your wife thoroughly checked with a gynaecologist to rule out any problems. Ask her to maintain a balanced diet and avoid smoking (active and passive both).

Dear lybrate-user, you will have to wait out for the next periods but since you have taken pills at the right time so should not be a problem. You can repeat a pregnancy test 10 days later from the 1st day you took the pills. Best regards.
