I am 75 years plus, was diagnosed with diabetes about 7 years ago and am on metformin 500 bd, galvus 50 bd, telma 80 od, atorva 10 od and atenolol 50 od. The diabetic parameters are within permissible limits ,tested six monthly. Doctor says since the above medicines appear to be controlling the disease, continue for life. Is this safe and right or is any periodic regulation required.

Mr. Lybrate-user, the medicines being taken are quite safe, hence can be continued for long time. Whether for life time is difficult to answer. Because as one get old, blood glucose control varies. Similarly kidney function may get affected due to diabetes itself. Periodic assessment is always required. Thanks.

Many people do desk job and this alone is not the reason for excess wt. Losing weight suddenly will only cause increase in wt later. You have to make effort to lose wt gradually over a period of time. This reduction will be more permanent. *Take protein rich food --- seeds, pulses, nuts, Also fruits, vegetables, greens and reduce cereals. *Green tea is also good. *Take lemon juice and honey in warm water in the early morning, empty stomach. *Avoid sweets, cakes, creams, fried foods, processed food and junk food. * Maintain food timings * Don’t miss breakfast. *Avoid heavy dinners and late night meals. *Avoid stimulants, aerated drinks sweetish juices, etc. And maintain good food habits. * Drink lots of water and keep hydrated. Avoid sugary soft drinks * Have adequate, timely, good night sleep *Even with desk job, you can spend morning and evening time for work out *Have vigorous physical exercise to improve absorption and blood circulation. Games like basketball, volley ball and stretch exercises like pull ups, cycling will be helpful. Obesity- Check whether you have thyroid and such ailments causing weight increase. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this problem.

Hi apply pranacharya face glow on your face for 15 minutes then wash it with warm water. Take pranacharya b clean syrup 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya allergin capsule 1-1 twice a day. Wash your face with chandrika soap. Prepare a neem leaves mustard oil and apply on your skin. Avoid hot food & spicy food

Lauki juice is good and beneficial for heart. Lauki (lal bhopala) (100gm) should be grinded in juicer or mixer with some water and should be filtered. Then add a 1 or 2 pinches of pepper powder and consume it empty stomach in morning. Ayurvedic medicines along with this home remedies helps alot to have speedy recovery of patient. Thank you.

Hi thanks for writing. According to your height your weight should be 65 kg you have to loss 13 kg weight only. Do not worry its not a big target you can easily loose this 13 kg weight. First we have to find our reason of your weight gain. You have to remember one thing avoid dieting for weight, cause dieting will help you loose some weight but after some period you will put on double weight. Tips for weight loss. 1. Try to take our research oriented holistic medicines for assures, fast and permanent weight loss. Without surgery, without gym, without crush dieting, with out side effect. People are loosing 2 to 10 kg weight per month. 2. Take 1 glass warm water with lemon. 3. Eat plenty vegetable and fruits. 4. Eat 5 to 6 servings of food per day. 5. Drink 10 glass water per day. 6. Avoid deep fried, cold drinks. 7. If your non vegetarian you can eat egg, fish, chicken in limited quantity. 8. Avoid hormonal treatment, steroid, stress.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if she has diabetes since long then it is essential to get her retinal examination done urgently, because diabetes affects retina badly. This is done by dilating the pupil. It is not testing for glasses. Secondly good control means fasting should be closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% <7. If this is achieved and maintained then complications can be delayed or prevented. Tsh value of 10.8 mu/l, means hypothyroidism is present and is not in control. Also needs to be treated. Treatment with thyroxine tablets with appropriate dse should be initiated immediately. Plus regular exercise for 1 hour a day is also needed. She should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, other bakery items and items made out of maida. Should consume whole grain products always. Avoid soy beans, soya containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts and coffee. (fo hypothyroidism). If any doubts please come in a private conversation with all details like fasting, pp sugar levels, hba1c%, dietary habits, extent of daily exercise, present treatment with dosage then I will be able to guide specifically. Take panchnimbadi churna 1-1 tsf with water twice a day. Take pranacharya allergin capsule 1-1 twice a say. Take pranacharya charm vikarasav 2-2 tsf with water twice a day. Apply marichyadi oil on affected part.

1-1 drop of cow ghee in both nostrils at night time before sleep.....massage your hair with good ayurvedic oil like bhring ranj oil.....sprinkle water in eyes...take sootshekhar ras...kaparda bhasm and godanti bhasm with honey two times a day.....pranacharya no tens capsule twice a day with warm water.....avoid tea...coffee....junk food...oily food....fermented food....stress...eat green vegetables....drink fruits juices...and 7-8 glass of water.....do pranayama early in the morning....walk for minimum 30 minutes in a day....
