Drink plenty of warm fluids. Drinking warm fluids helps to loosen the secretions in your sinuses so that your mucus flows more freely, making you feel better faster. Studies show that drinking warm fluids relieves cold symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, sore throat, and fatigue. For further queries get back to me.

This is because of less intake of water required for the body. Have plenty of water by mouth have homemade freshly prepared lemon juice which is rich in vitamin c thereby increasing your body autoimmune system which prevents infection it will be alright.

Hello Sir Live in swiss embassy. Age 35 years. I have a problem of snoring. I take my sleep properly but the other one cannot sleep properly and I feel very embarrassing. Pls suggest me the right solution of snoring. I will be very grateful to you.

BAMS

Hi, Please follow these tips to stop snoring: - Reduce your weight if you are obese. - Perform pranayama (breathing exercises) everyday. - Quit smoking which irritates the mucosal layer of the nose and throat and causes blockage and results in snoring. - Quit alcohol and sedatives which relax the throat muscles and results in snoring. - Sleep on sides instead on back. - Elevate the head by using a thick pillow which eases the breathing. - Clear the nose before going to bed. - Establish regular sleep pattern. - Keep the bedroom air moist by using humidifier; as dry air irritates the mucosal membrane in the nose and throat. - Perform throat exercises like repeating the vowels a, e, i, o, you loudly for 2-3 mins few times a day or keeping the tongue behind the teeth and moving it backwards - 3-4 times a day. - Anti snoring appliances can also be used.

I am suffering from nose allergic. So you are advice that share your view according to prevention.
In Allopathy, anti-histaminics or immunosuppressant medicines like steroids are used which only give temporary relief, with the problem returning once the medicine is stopped. On the other hand, during Homeopathy treatment of allergy is cured by strengthening the immune system and the symptoms subside on their own. At the same time, it needs to be understood that this is purely natural allergy treatment. No steroids or anti allergic medicines are used. The immunity is strengthened by Homeopathy instead of being suppressed as happens with allopathic treatment. You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance and permanent cure without any side effects

What To Do When A Nosebleed Strikes?

MS - ENT, MBBS
ENT Specialist, Delhi
What To Do When A Nosebleed Strikes?

A majority of people experience nosebleeds at least once in their lifetimes, whether from excessive picking of the nose or a pretty hard fall. Most nosebleeds go away soon but it can get very serious if you are not careful.

Nosebleeds can be broadly classified into two types:

1. Anterior nosebleeds, which happen from the front of the nose, are quite normal and get better quickly.

2. Posterior nosebleeds happen from deep within the nose and get very serious if proper care is not provided. Sudden increase in BP in hypertensive patients. However, such cases are rare and happen only in extreme trauma.

What to do when a nosebleed strikes?

- To stop the bleeding, tilt your head upwards and apply ice on the bridge of the nose. This helps in stopping the blood flow quickly. You can also stuff cotton in your nostrils while doing it.

- Blow your nose in order to clear the clots in the nose as they can prolong bleeding.

When does a nosebleed get serious?

- When the measures to stop the bleeding don't work. You are at risk to lose blood if you don't get medical help.

- If you have regular nosebleeds then consult your doctor immediately as it could be a symptom of an underlying health condition.

- A nosebleed can also become serious if you are having medicines that thin blood as it could make the nosebleed more severe.

- If you suffer from a blood clotting disorder.

- If the nosebleed is a caused by a trauma like a fall or an accident and you are having difficulty in stopping the bleeding, get immediate medical help. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ent Specialist.

Can't Kick Your Sinus Infection? This Can Help

MD , MBBS
General Physician, Aligarh

1. Relieve sinusitis: when the air is too dry, sinuses don't drain and function properly. According to many ent experts, adding humidity to the air is generally good for sinus health especially if you're regularly suffering from congestion and sinusitis.

2. Heal faster: whether it be a cold, asthma, or allergies, a humidifier keeps your nasal passages lubricated, which helps speed up the healing process when you're under the weather. For people with bad allergies, there are humidifiers that are specially designed to purify the air as well.

3. No more nosebleeds: another reason keeping your nasal passages moist and lubricated is essential is to prevent nosebleeds. If you're regularly experiencing nosebleeds due to your dry climate, it's worth a try. Many people have found that it makes a huge difference.

4. Alleviate snoring: the moisture from a humidifier keeps the throat from drying out and relieves the intensity of that annoying snoring sound. If you or your partner is a snorer, the added bonus is that (at least) one of you will be sleeping more soundly.

5. Support beautiful skin: soothe dry skin by sleeping with a humidifier on through the night. In the morning, you'll notice not only that your face looks more supple but also that your hands and lips don't feel dry and dehydrated.

Before you go out and purchase one, learn about the differences between warm and cool-mist humidifiers.

Sir I have sore throat since last 3 days I have not taken any antibiotic till now I am 49 a teacher by profession and...
Dear lybrate user, as you are a teacher by profession you might be delivering lectures everyday. This is not going to help your condition. Also, your jogging every morning is not good for you either as the breathing rate goes up and the cough cough get further aggravated. As you may not be able to stop delivering lectures, it is adviceable you temporarily stop your jogging till your throat has healed. Certain things that would help you are hereunder: - Drink lots of fluids (warm), avoid coffee - Take steam inhalation 3 times a day & do warm salt water gargles 3-4 times a day. - Keep some succulent lozenges (sugar free) in your bag, and use them as they would ease the irritation during lectures. If you dont feel better in the next 2 days or if there is fever, please consult a physician privately. Needless to mention, your blood sugar levels are on the higher side and a visit to your diabetologist is due. Take care!
