Well first answer is yes. You can give but in this season citrous food can give rise to upper airway infections. So better first you start things made up of milk which your child is used to (milk. Like kheer raab sheera.

What is good food for 9 month baby ?
At this age, the baby should b given 3 solid meals and 3-4 milk feeds, including at least 1 top feed. You can give her whatever is cooked at home, just make sure it is overcooked and mashed, e. G dal, daliya, bananas, potato, curds, half boiled egg, porridge etc (yes, cerelac too, if you want to, but not necessary!)

Common Ear Ailments in Faced by Children

MBBS, MS - ENT, DNB
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Gurgaon
Common Ear Ailments in Faced by Children

The ear is made up of three parts that is outer, middle and the inner part. Infections, disorders and ailments in the ear can occur across all age groups and in any part of the ear. Ear ailments are more common in children than in adults as the Eustachian tubes (tubes which drain out ear fluid) are smaller in children.

Here are a few common ailments which occur in children:

  1. Acute otitis media: AOM is the most common ear infection in children. Some parts of the middle ear are infected, resulting in swelling and blockage of fluid behind the eardrum. This condition is characterised by earache in children and in graver conditions, can also cause fever.
  2. Otitis media with effusion: This condition usually occurs due to the infestation of an infection when the fluid gets restricted behind the ear drum. This condition doesn’t exhibit too many symptoms except mild earache. You should visit an ENT specialist who can diagnose this condition by checking the concentration of fluid behind the eardrum using special instruments.
  3. Chronic otitis media with effusion: This condition occurs in children when the fluid remains trapped behind the eardrum for a long period of time. It can lead to serious infection and cause problems in hearing in children.
  4. Barotrauma: Barotrauma occurs due to changes in atmospheric pressure changes. It can cause problems in the Eustachian tube and causes trapping of air in the middle ear. Middle ear problems can become severe if left untreated and result in a burst in the eardrum, causing excessive bleeding.
  5. Meniere's disease: This is a disorder, which comes in bouts and is characterised by vertigo and fluctuating hearing loss. This condition usually affects one ear. It can result in tinnitus (ringing in the ear) or permanent loss of hearing if left untreated.
  6. Swimmer’s ear: Swimmer’s ear, also known as otitis externa, is a common condition which is caused in the outer area of the ear. This condition is caused due to remnants of chlorine water in the ear or because of inserting swabs too deep inside the canal. This condition is characterised by earache, discomfort and itching of the ear.

Some babies are born without testes which are not descended down. They're usually in the inguinal canal. Undescended testes usually descend to the scrotal sac by 1 year.

Ms. lybrate-user If your baby is just 4 Kg at 3 month of age with normal birth wight, its definitely abnormal and he is suffering from malneutrition. Probable reason behind that is faulty feeding. Firstly stop cow milk immediately and start standard formula milk in proper dilution. Continue breast sucking. It can enhance milk output. Stop bottle and use spoon and kotori with proper hygiene. Burp after each feed properly. Do not let your child malnourished, its developing phase for brain also.

11 month old baby can appreciate well what he needs and what he doesn't need. If he is thirsty, he shall definitely demand water. Mixing of water in milk means you are depriving him of his nutritional requirement. I shall not advise to mix water in milk.

Hello Mr. Lybrate-user, well your son is having chronic allergy, frequent cold and redness of eyes with frequent eye rubbing are the symptoms. Chronic allergy is quite commonly seen these days and this is seen frequently in your son's age group. Don't worry about it but this problem continues for long and you have to be vigilant to get him treated properly everytime. He has to use glasses everytime as this will help with his eyesight as well as keep dust n other allergens away from eyes. Wash his eyes every time he comes home from outside. Start with some immunity booster preprations and multivitamin supplements along with antihistamines. Take care.

Looking thin is a relative term which is more often for loving parents. Growth is assessed by weight and height. Start well coocked home made mashed solids and semi solids, if not yet started.

Continue exclusive breast feeding up to 6 months of age. So long baby is active and taking feed normally, 4-5 motion in a day is not abnormal.

Hi lybrate-user your child is 50 days old which is less than 3 month of age, he is not very much immune to disease and so the risk of serious bacterial infection is high in such cases. So I suggest you to kindly suggest your doctor again if the fever is above 100.5 f. If it is below that and baby is doing well gaining weight active and alert we usually do not consider it a fever so no need of doing anything.
