How To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks?

How To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks don’t only happen after childbirth, they can happen to anyone due to sudden changes in body size and weight. These are like ugly brown scars usually present on the stomach, thighs and hips. Truth be told, 90% of pregnant women will get stretch marks around these parts of their bodies.

These are some very easy things one can do to get reduce the appearance of stretch marks both old and new:

  1. Moisturizing- Lotioning –up regularly can lighten stretch marks. Moisturizing helps to hydrate skin and this makes it easier for it to stretch. Moisturizing is very effective in lightening new stretch marks and can prevent new stretch marks from forming. Older stretch marks are more difficult to get rid of, though.

  2. Retin A- Retin-A based creams are very effective against stretch marks. Retin-A works by boosting collagen production which helps the skin to stretch out and avoid tears which cause stretch marks. Pregnant and nursing women should not use Retinoic acid containing products, however. It also doesn’t work on old stretch marks.

  3. Glycolic Acid- This too can increase collagen production when used on skin. It is even more effective as alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) which is used in chemical skin peels. You can use glycolic acid on skin even during pregnancy. Save your skin from sunlight when using glycolic acid.

  4. Vitamin E Oil- This is touted as the miracle cure for stretch marks and it delivers especially when used on new stretch marks. Use it with an unscented moisturiser for better coverage.

  5. Essential Oils- These are common home remedies for tackling stretch marks. One can use them directly on skin or mix with the carrier oil before use. These are the ones to go for:

  6. Vitamin C- You can take Vitamin C as a supplement to lighten stretch marks. You can also mix topical glycolic acid with Vitamin C and apply on the skin directly.

  7. Lasers- These are the magic wands of cosmetic surgery and rightly so. Fresh stretch marks can be tackled using a pulsed dye laser also called vascular laser. The downsides of this laser treatment are that it works on early stretch marks and not on mature ones. It is also very expensive. This laser also doesn’t work on darker skins.

  8. Fractional Laser Treatment- These are very effective against older stretch marks. Your doctor will use this laser to resurface the older marks smoothing the surface of the skin. The treatment is very expensive and can cause hyper-pigmentation and scarring.

  9. Abdominoplasty or Tummy Tuck- This is the only certain way to obliterate stretch marks. What the surgeon does is cut out swathes of skin from your abdomen with stretch marks. Downsides are that it’s a risky procedure. There could be life-threatening complications and recovery takes long, sometimes as long as 3 to 6 months.

Sir I want to suggest how to reduce my dark spot on my chest please suggest me. He more than 7 year.
A quick and easy solution can be found in your kitchen or your nearest grocery store — lemon juice. Lemons have vitamin C that can lighten dark spots on your face. It’s easy to apply. Put some fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the affected skin area. 1. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with plain water. 2. Continue applying this dark spot removal home remedy for at least two weeks to get the desired result. If you have delicate or sensitive skin, you can dilute the lemon juice with plain water, rosewater, or honey. You can also use lime juice to get rid of black spots, applying it in the same manner as described above.

Dark spots can be easily removed with the help of lasers and chemical peels along with some topical medications. Please upload your pic so that an accurate treatment can be suggested accordingly.

While having sex yesterday while I was sucking my girlfriend's breast some fluid came out we're worried now what is that fluid about. Is it normal or is she pregnant? Very scared please help me over it.

MD - Psychiatry

Some fluids can come from breast other than milk, so nothing wrong. Pregnant if so can only be confirmed by strip test available in medical shops. All the best.

Start with a good sunscreen. Also ensure you are not getting acidity and dry skin as these can lead to increase in such patches. Increase your vitamin c intake. If it doesn't lighten up with these measures over next 2-4 weeks then consult a dermatologist.

Choose Moisturizer for Winters

Dermatology and Hair Transplant Surgery Clinic

Choose Moisturizer for Winters

One of the essential steps of skin care is hydrating your skin by moisturizing it. A moisturizer helps in locking water in the skin with the help of ingredients known as “occlusives”, “humectants” and “emollients”.

Hydrating the skin from within is equally important. We should drink at least 8-ounce glasses of water every day, this keeps our skin and body well hydrated and helps the moisturizer to work its magic in a better way.

When to apply a moisturizer?

Moisturizers should be applied at least twice a day, especially after cleansing / bathing / shaving / exfoliating, etc.

How to choose a moisturizer?

Moisturizers should be selected on the basis of one’s skin type:-

Normal skin – People with normal skin type can opt for moisturizers that are water or gel based during summers and oil based moisturizers during winters to cope with excessive dryness.

Oily skin – Person with oily skin should also apply a moisturizer especially after removing the dirt and excess oil. Oily skin is prone to acne and water or gel based moisturizers should be chosen if you have an oily skin type.

Dry skin – Oil based moisturizers are best suited for this skin type to treat dry, flaky skin. Heavy moisturizers are needed to hydrate the dry skin.

Sensitive Skin – One has to be really cautious while dealing with this skin type. Moisturizers that are soothing in nature such as chamomile or aloe vera based should be used if you have a sensitive skin or consult your dermatologist to deal with the sensitivity.

Mature Skin – As we age our oil producing glands become weak and the skin becomes drier. It is important at this stage of life to hydrate the skin with good oil based moisturizers to fight fine lines, wrinkles, dryness etc.

Pimples or acne vulgaris have a tendency to leave behind marks and blemishes, especially if scratched or manipulated. Kindly avoid touching them. Good face washes containing glycolic acid usually help in getting rid of the pigment. Kindly use a good sunscreen which is gel based and with adequate spf value. For further specific help and guidance kindly consult.
