Take frequent breaks while studying and dip a handkerchief in cold water and keep it over closed eyes for 2 minutes during breaks, you will feel better. Also get your eyes checked for any spectacle number.

Hi, Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe’s Belladonna 30 and Euphrasia 30 - both thrice daily for 4 days. Use Euphrasia Eye drops twice daily. Revert back thereafter. Management: - Try to rest your eyes if redness is due to fatigue or eye strain. No other treatment is needed. - Wash your hands, hold clean water in your hand, keep your eyes closer to the water and dip the eyes by blinking the eyelids frequently in the held water in hand. Repeat it for 3-4 times again. - Avoid watching T. V. Working on computer or mobile, reading or frequently keep blinking your eyes to avoid dryness. Take frequent breaks in between. - In case there is itching, use a clean napkin or a tissue to wipe the tears and cleaning the eyelids gently. -Wear an UV-rays protected sunglasses while you are out in sun.

As far as your eyes are concerned, make sure she takes good healthy diet inclusive of green leafy vegetables and fruits. Patient needs to undergo regular eye checkup as some asthma drugs contain steroids and steroid can have some harmful effect on eyes if not used under observation. So observation is must and for that frequent visits to asthma doctor and eye doctor is must.

Hello both are good. It is your choice 1. Implantable lenses/lasik is cosmetic surgery to get rid of glasses. 2. If you r comfortable using glasses then wear glasses but if you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik or implantable lenses.

I am having problem in my eyes from last 3 years. Eyes always get red fully blood. What should I do now.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
I am having problem in my eyes from last 3 years.
Eyes always get red fully blood.
What should I do now.
Hello, Bloodshot eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: Eye dryness Too much sun exposure Dust or other particles in the eye Allergies Infection Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. Other causes of eye redness include Colds or allergies, Acute glaucoma, Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. I am 25 years old male. I am suffering from exotropia (eye disease). What should I do.

MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
I am 25 years old male. I am suffering from exotropia (eye disease). What should I do.
In some children, where the exotropia is infrequent or “well-controlled,” close observation by an orthoptist or ophthalmologist, without other specific treatment, is warranted. When the exotropia appears more frequently and is “poorly-controlled,” other treatment may be necessary. Although glasses, exercises, or prisms are sometimes prescribed to reduce or help control the outward turning eye in some children, surgery is often needed to properly re-align the eyes while still young enough to allow development of stereopsis (3-dimensional vision) and prevent permanent vision loss from amblyopia. Surgery, if indicated, involves weakening the lateral rectus muscle on one or both eyes or sometimes strengthening the medial rectus instead or both. It is usually performed by your ophthalmologist as an outpatient with minimal pain and a rapid recovery allowing children to return to school or day care in just 2 - 3 days. thanks

While working on laptop my eyes start burning and this is usually happening, please help.
Prolonged working on laptop/TV can cause computer vision syndrome. Computer vision syndrome is a condition resulting from focusing the eyes on a computer or other display device for, uninterrupted periods of time. Some symptoms of cvs include headaches, blurred vision, neck pain, redness in the eyes, fatigue, eye strain, dry eyes, irritated eyes. These symptoms can be further aggravated by improper lighting conditions. Measures to reduce this include work under proper light. r. Blink a lot. Cold compresses and use good lubricating eyedrop. I would advise you to maintain good posture while working on computer. Keep your back n neck straight and in perfect alignment and also buy a chair which can support your back when you work on computer.

How can I remove my spec having -3 power in both eyes and I don't want lens also.
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 21 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Meibomianitis - 8 Things That Can Trigger It!

Meibomianitis - 8 Things That Can Trigger It!

In order to see clearly, the eyes need to be constantly lubricated. This function is performed by small glands located in the eyelids known as meibomian glands. These glands secrete oil onto the surface of the cornea through tiny openings on them. Malfunctioning of this gland can create an excessive amount of oil.

When oil accumulates on the eyelids, it encourages the bacteria present in the eye and the skin around it to multiply leading to inflammation. This condition is known as meibomianitis. Adults are at a higher risk of suffering from this condition as compared to children.

Some of the factors that could trigger meibomianitis are:

  1. Allergic reactions
  2. Fluctuation of hormones associated with puberty and adolescence
  3. Acne and other skin conditions
  4. Lice or mites on the eyelashes
  5. Unsanitary contact lens solution
  6. Contaminated eye makeup
  7. Certain medications such as isotretinoin for acne that increases bacteria on the eyelids
  8. However, in some cases, a clear trigger factor may not be identifiable.

Some of the characteristic symptoms of this disease are:

  1. Dry eyes
  2. Constant watering from the eyes
  3. Inflammation and reddening of the eyelids
  4. Burning sensation in the eyes
  5. Itchiness
  6. Flaking of skin around the infected eye
  7. Heightened sensitivity to light
  8. Excessive blinking
  9. Crusting of eyelashes
  10. Blurred vision
  11. Frequent formation of sties
  12. Loss of eyelashes or abnormal growth of eyelashes

Regular cleaning of the eyes with warm water and abstaining from the use of contact lenses and eye makeup can help reduce irritation and manage the inflammation. Additionally, the doctor may also prescribe antibiotics or steroids in the form of pills, eye creams or drops. Artificial tears may also be recommended to patients exhibiting dry eye symptoms. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ophthalmologist.

My 2 months son's right eye watering from birth. His eye looks small. Please advise.
It's due to blockade of the nasolacrimal duct. It takes 6 to 12 months to open up. You must do massaging from the inner angle of the nose downwards morning and evening 20 to 30 times a day.
