I have been using glasses for 2 years consistently till now. Is there any chances of getting back to my normal vision? What should I do to get back my normal vision? It's because I hate putting glass.

I have been using glasses for 2 years consistently till now. Is there any chances of getting back to my normal vision...
Hello, you should continue use the glasses and do the following exercises regularly. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

I have a eye infection what should I do some insect or dust went inside and it started it's become red and watery.

PG Hom, London, BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Hi, thoroughly wash your eye with plain water. Try and remove whatever went inside the eye. There will be some redness for a day but it will reduce on its own. If the redness doesnt reduce, you can put" tears" eye drops in your eye.

I have eye watering problem since many years. When I consult any doctor, he says that is not a problem. But that is a problem for me. I dont like it. Can anyone suggest a solution for this?

MBBS, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Hyderabad
Thinking of simple things first, like dry eyes, you may need to use lubricant eye drops, like zyaqua, or osmodrops, or irivisc, two or three times daily. These are safe to try. The benefit depends on your job or life style (or both).

Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 19 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your father's eye problem. Diabetes and blood pressure are disorders of the blood vessels. They tend to affect most of the organs in the body including the eyes. In the eye, diabetes/ blood pressure may lead to bursting of blood vessels and subsequent bleeding into the eye. This would in turn reduce the vision of the eye. In some cases, it could be improved by surgery or injection in the eye whereas in other cases, it would be irreversible. Thus, the best guide would be a retina specialist. Take the opinion and follow the advice given by the retina specialist. Feel free to contact me for further assistance. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care-

While using smart phone eyes are getting some pain even within few minutes. What to do to control burning of eyes.

FPRS, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Pune
While using smart phone eyes are getting some pain even within few minutes. What to do to control burning of eyes.
Here are seven super quick and easy ways to give your eyes a break during your all those smartphone marathon sessions. 1. Blink, blink and blink again. Blinking often (and for more than a second) keeps your eyes moist and reduces dryness and irritation. We tend blink about a third less than we normally would when we stare at our smartphone screens, which starves our poor peepers of protective tears. Keep your eyes wet by blinking about 10 times every 20 minutes or so and you should be good to go. 2. Minimize glare. Unless you have a smartphone equipped with anti-glare Corning Gorilla Glass or use a matte screen protector film, you’re probably coping with a fair amount of annoying reflective glare. 3. Take breaks. Follow 20-20-20 rule. The concept is to take a break from looking at your screen every 20 minutes for 20 seconds while looking at something 20 feet away. Doing so relaxes your eye muscles 4. Adjust your brightness. Having your screen too bright or too dark stresses your eyes out and can cause problems maintaining focus. To eliminate either issue in about a matter of seconds, simply go into your smartphone settings and adjust your screen brightness so it’s about the same as the light level in the environment around you 5. Tweak your text size and contrast. Adjusting your smartphone text contrast and size also provides a little much-needed relief. 6. Keep a clean screen. Routinely wipe down your smartphone screen with a dry (not wet!) cleaning cloth to remove distracting dust, grime, smudges and fingerprints. 7. Hold your smartphone farther away. Try holding yours at least 16 to 18 inches away from your eyes to give your eyes a break.
