Rotator Cuff Injury is usually caused by an acute injury such as lifting weights or sudden jerk due to fall on outstretched hand. Chronic wear and tear leads to degeneration of the tendon which can further cause Rotator cuff tear. One can experience acute pain, a snapping sensation and an immediate weakness of the arm if the cause of the rotator cuff tear is an injury. Rotator cuff tear can be treated non-surgically with the use of anti-inflammatory medication, steroid injections, and physical therapy.

If the pain and weakness in the arm caused by rotator cuff tear persists, despite the conservative treatment, surgery is recommended. Post Rotator Cuff repair surgery, it is normal to experience pain and stiffness in the initial 4-6 weeks after surgery.

Apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha yograj guggul 1-1 twice a day after lunch and dinner. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Take green vegetables. Drink juice. Eat fruits. Drink 7-8 glass of water in a day. Take 7 hours sleep minimum. Do pranayama early morning. Walk for minimum 30 minutes in a day. For further detail contact me in private.

I suffered from viral 2 months ago. Since then I am suffering from pain in my palm and feet. Pain subsides with medicines like dolonex but again starts as the effect reduces. Pain is like nerve cramps. Increases when I get up to walk and gets accustomed after some steps. What to do?

Hello apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation .take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. Avoid fermented food. Junk food.

My son is 14 years old and suffering from rheumatic arthritis for last one and half years. His doctor has prescribed sazo-1000mg twice in a day and pantacid-40 once in a day. Rhumatoid arithritis in ayurveda is called amavata. So the main line of treatment is removal of ama followed by vata. So start with vaman karma & focus on digestion. If he is not able to digest food, more ama will form. Go for rooksha swedana & vaitaran vasti @ a panchakarma centre near u.

Leg pain with backache. We should exclude intervertebral disc problem, osteophytes etc. X-ray of LS spine will determine the exact position. If nerve is compressed certain measures such as lumbar support or traction may be required in some cases.

Hi, my husband met an accident last year and he got deep cut in his artery of left hand wrist at the base of thumb. It was operated and there are 7-8 stitches. If the pain is after accident and not before accident it means its due to that injury because he was doing gym before also, I must say he should consult a specialist, and start drinking ginger tea to sooth his nerves! thanks.

Try placing a pillow below her knees for reliving the stress over the back while lying down. It would be advisable to avoid any bending at the moment and try squatting instead and avoid sitting on floor or any low surface. Hot fomentation will also provide some pain relief. Also visit any physiotherapist for proper evaluation as x-ray only provides information about the bones but not the other structures around the back.

Effective Management of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Over time, our joints, connective tissues and muscles go through a lot of wear and tear. Additionally, certain conditions may also cause problems, including inflammation and conditions that create persistent pain. These conditions usually fall under the broad category of arthritis, which can be of many types. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) happens when your immune system targets your joints and causes inflammation. RA influences the joints on both sides of the body, for example, both hands, wrists and knees. This symmetry separates it from other kinds of arthritis. It can affect the skin, eyes, lungs, heart, blood, or nerves.

Various signs of inflamed joints are as follows:

  1. Stiffness: Functioning of the joints becomes rigid and doesn't move properly. It is particularly severe in the morning. While those with different types of arthritis have stiff and immobile joints in the morning, people with rheumatoid arthritis take over 60 minutes before their joints feel free.

  2. Swelling or Inflammation: Liquid enters the joint and gives rise to inflammation.

  3. Extreme pain: Irritation inside a joint makes it painful and delicate even to touch. In a chronic condition, this may also lead to fractures.

  4. Redness and warmth: The joints might appear hotter and more pink or red than the skin around it.

Needless to say, your lifestyle choices affect all aspects of your physical wellbeing, and that also include your joints- especially if you are suffering from arthritis.  It’s a common theory, that joints which are strained and stressed by bearing the burden of extra pounds show more inflammation, wear and tear and stiffness which lead to aggravation of arthritic pain. Here are a few holistic approaches to consider; certain changes in your existing lifestyle that can help you to reduce your arthritic pains:

  1. First and foremost, it’s important that you must indulge in plenty of exercises every single day, to keep pounds off and thus help yourself handle this degenerative disease.
  2. In case of creating a healthy diet plan, stick to low calorie and low carb foods. Also be sure that you are consuming lots of vegetables and fruits in your diet. This also helps you to keep fit and put a break on the obesity factors that are detrimental to your health.
  3.  As even a few extra pounds can worsen arthritic pain, keep track of your weight and talk to your orthopedic doctor to determine your optimal and healthiest weight. Focus on this prescribed weight coefficient and keep tracking your weight loss patterns unless you have reached your goal.
  4. Cut down on alcohol. There has never been a finer alternative to that. 
  5. Feeling depressed or stressed by arthritic pain is a common syndrome among arthritic patients. Nevertheless, on the flipside, such reactions actually worsens the agony of this disease and inhibit you from doing what you need to do, such as taking medications and exercising to keep yourself fit at the end of the day. 

Although admittedly, making drastic modifications in your lifestyle can be painful and difficult at first, these are the best remedies for easing arthritic pain in a natural way.
Don’t just rely on medications, take control of your disease in a holistic manner and you’ll soon find yourself in control of your life again.

Lifestyle Changes

Being overweight is a large risk factor for osteoarthritis because it puts a large amount of stress on weight-bearing joints. This damage is largely preventable by losing excess weight and increasing safe activity. Exercise (as long as it does not put dangerous strain on the joints) will improve your muscle strength. Strong muscles will support your weight-bearing joints and ultimately lower the chances of the negative symptoms of OA. Regular exercise can help prevent and reverse these effects. Several different kinds of exercise can be beneficial, including range-of-motion exercises to preserve and restore joint motion, exercises to increase strength (isometric, isotonic, and isokinetic exercises), and exercises to increase endurance (walking, swimming, and cycling). Exercise programs for people with rheumatoid arthritis should be designed by a physical therapist and tailored to the severity of your condition, your build, and your former activity level. Getting a sufficient amount of rest is also necessary for management of OA symptoms. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Physician.

Investigate her for anaemia, low vit-b12 and low vit-d3. She may be over burdened by work. Reduce burdon on her.

Hi sir, Recently I was feeling pain in my lower leg and went to local doc for medicine and he prescribed test. I did x ray and ct scan of spine and it is found that disc space between L4 and L3 is reduced with lumber spondylitis tracing as per report. He prescribed me only physiotherapy. Please guide me severity of disease and possibility of chronic. Also suggest me hospital for further treatment Regards.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hi you need to use a medial arch inside your sports shoes. Always wear good brand well cushioned shoes. If you are overweight, try to loose weight.
