For temporary relief of itching, try these self-care measures: use a high-quality moisturizing cream on your skin. Apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area as prescribed by me avoid scratching whenever possible. Apply cool, wet compresses. Take a lukewarm bath. Wear smooth-textured, loose cotton clothing. Do reply back for private consultation for a detailed treatment plan which will cure your itching problem.

When I drive long on high way my eyes making red and so much hurt so its allergies?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
When I drive long on high way my eyes making red and so much hurt so its allergies?
Eyes becomes red because , while driving the rate at which the eye dries up increases , hence of rate of secretion of tears also goes up. since we are not driving at a constant speed there is a mismatch between the tear secretion and eyes drying up . our body always tries to over perform. this over secreted tears is too much to handle by the normal tear route from the eyes to the nose. hence the excess tears overflow leading to watering.and Redness of eyes.So it is a normal process.Dont worry about this.Your eyes are normal.

hello , Use CMD2 eye drop , 2 drop in each eye twice daily. Take Ruta 30 , 3 drops twice daily. Also get your eyes tested by an eye specialist. Do these exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

In male myopic power get stabilised by the age of 21-22 years ,decision about LASIK can be taken only after when power gets stabilised. LASIK is refractive surgery to correct myopia, hypermetropia & astigmatism, refractive surgery also include intraocular lend procedure. For  LASIK your eyes must be healthy, if you have persistent dry eyes, LASIK surgery may aggravate this condition resulting in burning sensation & blurring of vision after LASIK.  For LASIK cornea must have sufficient thickness because in reshaping of cornea, you loose the thickness of cornea & if your cornea is too thin, you are not fit case for LASIK.   -1D of myopic correction  consumes 35 micron of corneal thickness.  Average thickness of cornea in Indian is 450 micron to 500 micron& after LASIK there should be around 300 micron thickness of cornea for safety of eye in future.  Pupils are usually large in myopic people who undergo LASIK resulting in side effects such as halos, glares especially when driving in night.       LASIK for the treatment of high retractive errors are less predictable, because very high amount of myopia may require removal of too much corneal tissue putting at high risk of vision complications.  LASIK should not be undertaken before 21 years in male & 19 years in female because myopic power increases by that age, you must have stable vision before LASIK.   There is no upper age limit but one should keep in mind that once you are 40 years old, you may still need reading glass due to presbyopia changing every two years till you develop cataract in old age.     Contraindication for LASIK is degenerative disease, sjogren syndrome, type 1 diabetes etc. People who are taking immunosuppressive must think 10 times before undergoing LASIK.  One must go LASIK  screening before taking decision for LASIK.   One who undergoes for LASIK should be fully aware of potential LASIK complications & should not hide anything from operating surgeon about health.

My eyes has been suffering from the allergy of sun light when I go in sun light than my eyes get red.
Hello. I think you have allergic conjunctivitis. Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is to avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem. Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. Use antiallergic eyedrop along with lubricating eyedrop. This will help you I am very sorry dear to say that there is no drud that can cure allergy. Only way is to stay away from all those things that you are allergic to.

Lasik is a simple laser procedure which changes the shape of the cornea so that the light rays fall on the retina properly. It is a painless procedure. It is a day care procedure does not require any injections, does not require admission, you can simply resume your duties in 2 days. Cost varies from centre to centre. Side effects are usually limited to dryness of eyes for few months. We can do lasik anytime after age of 18 years. You need to undergo proper prelasik checkup to decide whether lasik is safe for you or not.

If you get relief by using ophthacare eye drops by Himalayan drug ,you may continue to use it ,it is quite safe eye drops. I think you are having dryness (computer Vision syndrome) due to overuse of smartphone, computer & watching TV for long time without break, so you may use some lubricating eye drops (Refresh liquigel) 4-5 times a day.

My mother having cataracts, but now I don't have money for operation. Once I get the money I will do it, but upto to that, if she wears sphex, she can able to manage, because for her if she wants to see clearly, she should come very closer, what to do now ?

FICO, Specialist in Cataract,Cornea and refractive surgeries , MD - Ophthalmology

She should undergo cataract surgery as soon as possible. As surgery becomes difficult with more harder cataract, which occurs if its delayed. Also catractous lens can swell up and can cause phacomorphic glaucoma (increase pressure in eyes), which can permanently damage the eyes.

Hi lybrate-user. I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers, mobile phones and books. Follow the rule of" 20" this means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. You could consider preservative free lubricant eye drops (eg. Genteal eye drops) 4 to 5 times daily. These eye drops would ensure that your eyes stay well lubricated and fresh. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. You could also use a preservative free lubricant eye drop 4 to 5 times in a day. Also, adequate sleep of 7 hours a day is essential in order to maintain healthy eyes. For further queries, it would be a better idea to do a video consultation or audio consultation via lybrate. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care.
