Hi, Take Rauvolfia 1x, 2 tabs daily morning empty stomach. Drink plenty of liquids and cut down your fat, salt and sugar intake. Take Sygyzium 1x, 2 tabs twice daily before meals. go for a morning walk daily at least for 30 minutes. Take a sound sleep and try to avoid anger. Revert after 15 days with feedback.

Usually we ask for a minimum of 5 days of absentism because we can get the exact value of quantity of sperms.

Dear Doctor (looking to be answered by a GI specialist), I'm a 38 years old male. Natively from Uttarakhand hills, living in Delhi NCR since 19 yrs. Before coming to Delhi, I've never had any stomach related problem. I had a great metabolism, and good digestion. Was thin even after eating a lot. However, things gradually turned towards other side as I settled here. Initially I had issues of infrequent constipation, which developed into piles in 6 years of stay. That cured with dietary habit changes like increase in vegetables and fibers etc. I'm a vegetarian with once in a while egg consumption. Since last 4-5 yrs, my weight is gradually increasing even though I eat controlled 3 meals a day, having veggies, dal, and 6 roti in all a day, and 1-2 fruits. Dietary issues had increased day by day. I have a distend stomach now although not very visible. I'm in IT industry mostly sitting and working. My height is 5 ft 4 inch and weight is 68 kg. May daily routine is- I wake up around 6 AM. Have a glass of honey lemon warm water. Go to washroom. Then I take a ginger tea and/ or a green tea. I do practice Yoga for 20-30 mins and read newspaper. During and after that I need to go to toilet again, in all 2 to 3 times in the morning. Bowels are soft, not well bound. Even loose sometimes. After bath I take a healthy breakfast of roti, sabji with curd or buttermilk, and a fruit at around 9 AM. Sometimes I need to go to toilet again after breakfast. I have similar food at lunch in office, and usually take a stroll of 500 mtr-1 Km after lunch. Usually I feel heavy after lunch and urge to go to toilet starts at 3-4 PM. If its very forcing, I go to toilet with mostly very low or no output at all. I usually avoid outside food and junk food. I feel lethargic. Since last 3-4 months, developed stiff back pain in lumber area. This gradual problem of multiple time urge to go to toilet, heaviness, lethargy, back pain is hampering my work, otherwise I'm known to be very active and agile in my work. Off late, I'm also facing memory loss and lack of concentration issue, I'm not finding it interesting to read/ learn new things. I have been smoker, left smoking around 4 years ago. Moderate alcohol consumption, haven't had a drink since 2 months. Thanks in advance for your invaluable advice, and I'm looking for a proper and complete diagnosis before any medication starts.

I will suggest you to stop drinking honey lemon warm water and avoid spicy food in your diet and for memory loss and loss of concentration problems I will suggest you to get your blood checked for aarogyam 15.2 through thyrocare and follow up with reports and I feel that there is some vitamin deficiency which we have to confirm before starting your treatment.

Shivaniji, Thanks for the query. Looking at your weight and height it is clear that you have grade 1 obesity with a BMI of 31.07 kgs/M2 (normal <23 kgs/M2). For a prediabetic it is absolutely essential to maintain near normal weight (about 66 kgs), plus exercise daily for over 1 hour then take a healthy and balanced diet that provides exact calories based on your ideal body weight. Plus avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks (olas), bakery items and foods made out of maida. Avocado is a good fruit, can be had. Thanks.

Hi lybrate user to gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

Most of the people wash off shampoo immediately after its application or keep the shampoo in the hair for very long. They think prolonged application of shampoo in hair will benefit hair. But the fact is that the contact time of shampoo to hair should be around five minutes, neither less nor more. This allows appropriate time for cleaning of dirt in the hair.

Nuts, such as almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds and flax seeds, are full of calories and make the perfect snack between meals. Munch on them to enjoy their taste, nutrients and of course weight gain. Nuts contain healthy fats and are a healthy way to increase your weight. However, do not stuff yourself with them, as you will not feel hungry for your next meal.

Few things related to headache so that we can plan the treatment accordingly - If pain is associated with blurred or decreased vision than check your eye sight for refractive error - If the pain is associated with cold and fever than we have to rule out sinusitis as the cause and If the pain is pulsatile in nature and with a throbbing pain usually with an aura than we have to rule out Migrane as the cause - if the pain is associated with neck problems than we have to rule out cervical spondylosis as the cause - If the pain is associated with either low or high BP or due to hyperacidity than we have to treat the cause after examination.

There is in ayurveda mention pinda swed .it is a type of swedan karma [phomentation] but it do some another manner. 1.boiled a rice in milk then take this rice in one white cloth then tied it properly and warmly it rub on your face every morning for 15 days then stop it and do next month again 2.apply almond oil on your face and massage for 3-5 min at night. By doing above thing you will get good result.

Hello, yellow teeth could be because of deposits on your teeth or food lodged in your teeth. Visit a dentist get your scaling and polishing done. For whiter teeth you can go for bleaching or whitening procedure. Brush twice daily, maintain proper brushing technique, floss regularly and rinse after every meal. Visit your dentist every 6 months.

If you indulge too much into the future, you will develop unnecessary fear. Your best bet is to stay with the present and be satisfied. We must establish a goal in the future but do not get attached to that goal. The concentration to the present is where you put in all your energy to make sure that you are doing the right things to contribute to that future. If not all your attention and energy will be wasted into a future that has not yet come and the present will be affected by a lack of time and energy investment. You can meet with a counselor to monitor your focus, and to also help you with handling your feelings. If your level of stress is too much it can affect your memory. Although concentration is different to memory, they can affect each other. Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. Have a good night? s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, do yoga meditation exercises, etc. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling.

There are two types of natural urges 1) dharniya vega (urges, should b controlled, but you aren't) like chinta-stress, bhaya-fear, shoka-, krodha-short temper, maan- ego, lobha-greedy etc mental condition you should control yourself 2) adharniya vega (urges that should not be controlled, but you are controling) like sleep, urine, stool, hunger, thirst, yawn, sneeze, vomit etc. Think deeply. It's a very spiritual concept main treatment is to stop causative factor among this. So manage your sleep & time. Also there are some ayurveda medicine, lepa-cream, face treatment, or panchakarma (detoxification) will definitely help you you can use kumkumadi ointment of nagarjun pharma. It will lighten your circle. If you’re trying to gain weight, aim for 0.7-1 grams of protein per pound of body weight (1.5 – 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram). You can even go above that if your calorie intake is very high. High-protein foods include meats, fish, eggs, many dairy products, legumes, nuts and others. Protein supplements like whey protein can also be useful if you struggle to get enough protein in your diet. You need to eat more calories than your body burns in order to gain weight. Aim for 300-500 calories per day above your maintenance level, or 700-1000 calories if you want to gain weight fast.

Dear lybrate user we can very well address your concern regarding your wife's hypothyroidism. It could had been better had you provided us with her latest tsh reports for better understanding of the situation. Try to understand that this is due to deficiency of thyroid hormone because of underfunctioning gland. The treatment of which is hormone replacement which you are doing in the form of tab thyroxine. Will suggest to keep monitoring her tsh levels on a regular basis and not to go for any other alternative therapy. Hope this helps and solves your query. They are being forced to succumb to depression, and fight back the same; they are taking pills, anti-depressants, anti-psychotic drugs or other narcotics. 

These are proving extremely detrimental by taking a toll on the overall mental and physical health of the humans. One of the main ill-effects of these dangerous drugs is decreased desire or sexual urge, which is also known as Libido.

How drugs affect our physical and social lives? 

Anti-depressant drugs have certain chemicals in the composition such as serotonin, melatonin, dopamine, inhibitors, tri-cyclics, etc. that severely affect the emotions of love in both the males and females along with decreasing the sexual push or aggression, thereby degrading the conjugal life of a couple to a large extent. This is indeed a matter of serious concern because ultimately the happiness and health are at stake.

  2. Shiro Dhara Panchakarma- This therapy aids in curing stress and depression which ultimately bring back libido.
  3. Satvavjay Chikitsa- In this form of treatment, the patient is required to stay away from negative thoughts and reinforce the positive thoughts in the brain. Letting go of these thoughts will help the patient stay happy and content which in turn would let you enjoy the intimate moments to the fullest.
  4. Nasya Treatment- In this treatment, Ayurvedic medicines are taken through the nose as it is assumed that the effect reaches from nose to head thus curing the ailment.
  5. Shiro Basti Treatment- This is a process of medicated enema for increasing libido. A cap is placed on the head in this treatment.
  6. Meditation and yoga- These are the best natural therapy for curing libido related problems. Meditating daily for 1 hour can drastically increase the libido level. Also, yoga poses, like Pigeon Pose, bound angel, eagle pose are good for getting back libido. Yoga and meditation are very good for reducing stress level. Thus, by reducing stress level, libido is increased.
  7. Manasmitra Vataka- This relieves stress in an efficient way, thus increasing libido naturally.
  8. Swarna Saraswatarishta- This reduces mental fatigue and helps in increasing retention power. Overall, this results in an increased libido.
  9. Ashwagandharistha- This is good for men as this helps to improve the testosterone level. Testosterone helps in increasing libido. Ayurveda is all about natural and herbal cure with very handy home remedies such as maintaining the correct diet comprising of plenty of water, fruits, onion and garlic, the Mediterranean kind of food, etc. that will help to enhance the sexual desire. Ayurvedic pills for increasing sexual feelings known as libido enhancer pills and other herbal sexual pills are sometimes prescribed to the patients as well, but those must be taken with utmost care and under strict medical guidance. 
  10. Stop Bad Habits- Stopping every form of bad habit like alcohol consumption, and smoking is also essential.

lybrate-user, During pregnancy, there is some extra 25% urine production, plus pressure of growing fetus on the bladder does lead to frequent urination. It is fairly normal. Plus as the fetus grows its movements are bound to be felt frequently. Thanks.
