Running is good. It needs a plain surface with much even surface. Running on roads might hurt your knees. Try to run in a park where there is a walkers lane. Make sure your shoes are well equipped for running. Or go to gym and do thread mill. These are the few options. Hope this helps you.Stay healthy stay fit.☺

Is There No Cure for Osteoarthritis?

Is There No Cure for Osteoarthritis?

WHAT CAUSES OSTEOARHRITIS DIAGNOSED?

Sometimes osteoarthritis is detected on X-rays taken for other purposes. In this case, people may not feel any aches or pains but may be told by their physician that they have osteoarthritis. Often if a person complains of pains in joints, the PHYSIO will order X-rays because damage to a joint may be seen that way. However, X-rays are only part of the procedure your physician will follow to diagnose osteoarthritis. The history of your symptoms and the findings of the complete physical examination also will be valuable factors in the diagnosis. Your explanation of how you feel will be very important. For example, persons with osteoarthritis usually do not have a feeling of being ill, do not experience severe weight loss, and do not have a poor appetite or fever. Also, the pain in the involved joint is usually maximal with activity (walking, etc.) and decreased by rest in patients with osteoarthritis.

HOW IS OSTEOARTHRITIS TREATED?

There is no cure for osteoarthritis. The goal of therapy is to control the disease and possibly slow its progress by keeping the affected joints mobile, preventing further disability, and relieving pain. In some cases drugs, special exercises, rest, and heat are effective. If you have osteoarthritis, depending on your symptoms, your physician may suggest avoiding physical activities that strain your sore joints.

You may be advised to avoid occupational and recreational use of the affected joints. If weight-bearing joints are involved, you may be told to avoid weight-bearing activities such as climbing stairs or prolonged standing. In other cases, orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation therapy are helpful.

Sometimes drugs are injected directly into the joint affected by osteoarthritis. Some people obtain temporary relief from pain and disability in this way. If you are overweight, your physician will probably suggest a weight-reducing diet. Reducing weight will help reduce the strain on your joints, particularly if your osteoarthritis is in the hip or knees.

In some cases, physicians recommend traction, which involves stretching the upper part of the spine in the area of the neck, as a treatment for spinal osteoarthritis. In other cases physicians recommend using a neck collar or a heavy towel wrapped around the neck to support the weight of the head, thereby allowing the painful muscles to relax. These techniques provide relief but do not influence the progress of the disease.

Your daily habits or age may be the root of your knee problems. Some common home care techniques for knee pain that control inflammation and help to break the inflammatory cycle are protection, rest, ice, compression, and elevation, glucosamine supplement has also may help, I can prescribe a detailed treatment plan.

Homeopathy and Gout

Homeopathy and Gout

Gout: a brief idea: In the simplest of words gout can be defined as the inflammation of joints due to continuous accretion of urate crystals. An excess of uric acid can make a person suffer from gout. There could be a higher percentage of uric acid in a person's blood due to two chief reasons; an inept excretory system that fails to rid your body of surplus acid and also greater production of the acid. Arthritis is of three kinds; gout is one of those three. Homeopathy is known for its efficacy in treating gout.

Homeopathic remedies for gout:

  1. Urtica urens can cure gout: This homeopathic medicine is prescribed by a professional practitioner if the person is susceptible to cold. Urtica urens can work on a patient if he or she is allergic to snow,  air, touch and water. Hive like eruptions on your ankles, wrists, and shoulders can be treated through regular consumption of this medication.
  2. Ledum can relieve you of pain: A painful, swollen area that develops on the small joints such as the joints of your toe fingers can be cured with the use of Ledum. The sensation of shooting pain in your limbs or feet can also be dealt with Ledum. Apart from that swollen small joints can be given momentary respite by falling back upon the cold compression therapy. Patients are advised to take this medicine if they exhibit intolerance to external warmth.
  3. Lycopodium is effective on sore joints: Chalky deposits of urate can be found in a person's knees. This results in chronic gout. Chronic gout has symptoms like limited urination. The urine may or may not have red sediments. People have also been reported with symptoms like extreme backache. Lycopodium successfully cures cases of unceasing gout.
  4. Try out benzoic acid for a big toe: If your gout is accompanied by stinking yellow urine you probably need Benzoic acid. Gout could be so severe that it might result in a stiff limb. In certain cases it makes a person limp. The thumb of your feet might get swollen making you have a big toe. A big toe usually kills you with tearing pain.
  5. Arnica deals with bruises: Arnica is your go to solution in case of a throbbing, stinging pain in any part of the body. This medication is a cherished answer to aches in every household. When gout is tender and it hinders free movement, this medicine comes to your aid. The medicine also heals bruised eruptions.

Sir I start running from a week ago now I feel pain in my knees and my legs does any problem with me?
Hi, what seems, you may have'runner knee' the stress of running can cause irritation where the kneecap (patella) rests on the thighbone. While biomechanical issues like (flat feet, knock knee, high arch foot etc) may be to blame, or ot can be poorly conditioned quadriceps and tight hamstrings i. E. If you start running without warm up and stretching exercises. As weak quads are not able to support the patella, leading it to track out of alignment, and inflexible hamstrings can put pressure on the knee. If you want to treat and avoid another bout withp runner's knee, add good strengthening and stretching to your routine. Also check for ny biomechanical problem with good ortho or physio. Donot worry you will be fine. Run on softer surfaces, keep mileage increases less than 10 percent per week. Wear proper shoes according to your foot type. Start strenghtening exercises also.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day.
