Dear Lybrate User, you may have come across a number of gimmicking advertisement of medicines which claim to decrease body weight in a very short time. Don’t fall prey for such advertisement because the excess weight would not be shredded until each & every underlying cause of being overweight is diagnosed & treated. Normally 1 kg of fat occupies thrice the volume than that of 1 kg of muscle. That’s why accumulation of fat makes a person so bulky whereas body-builders have a shredded physique although most of the body-builders are overweight according to the BMI index. So it is evident that to lose the excess weight you have to get rid of the excess fat in your body. Now the basic role behind the process of accumulation of fat in human body is played by Metabolism. Metabolism is the set of life-sustaining chemical transformations within the cells of living organisms. The three main purposes of metabolism are the conversion of food/fuel to energy to run cellular processes, the conversion of food/fuel to building blocks for proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and some carbohydrates, and the elimination of nitrogenous wastes. In order to lose the excess fat you need to increase your rate of metabolism. First of all you need to rule out the possibility of the presence of any hormonal disturbance that may be affecting your sister's metabolism. Just conduct a total Thyroid profile test of all her blood. If the reports are within normal limits then she should proceed further to increase your metabolism. If you find any abnormalities in the report you should immediately consult a doctor.

To build muscles & gain weight, you need to take enough good quality protein in your diet daily- whole egg- 1 no, fish/chicken- 1-2 pcs, cow/ buffalo milk-banana/dates milkshake, cheese sandwich, paneer paratha, almonds, peanuts, safed til (ex in form of ladoo), soybean roll/ cutlets, tofu cutlet/ sandwich, atta-besan ladoo. Also work out in gym to increase lean body mass by specific exercises meant to increase muscle mass without causing weight loss.

1. Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, cold drinks, pickles, fish, poultry, meat, spinach, and chocolate. 2. Avoid sour, heavy, and dry food. 3. Increase intake of liquids like water, juice, soup, lime water lemon soda etc. 4. Be sure to drink enough water each day. Usually 1 to 2 liters of water per day is adequate. 5. Drink more if you are perspiring heavily, working outdoors, the weather is hot, etc. 6. Increase the use of barley, horse gram (a type of bean), ginger, and brown rice or parboiled rice. 7. Avoid suppressing urges to urinate and defecate. 9. Boil 10-12 basil leaves in 1 cup of water for 15 minutes. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey in it and take twice a day. Pls send ur USG report becoz medication for stones depends upon size number and location of stones and can be given after USG.

Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the knee against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold). Avoid Squatting- Avoid sitting Cross legged

Yes you can have multiple fat nodules called lipomas in your body though they are harmless but you can get them removed if you want to.

Hello sir, high cholesterol especially ldl cholesterol is a known risk factor for atherosclerosis, a condtion which leads to blockage in arteries of heart, brain etc. You should see a physician.

Start with Physiotherapy treatment. Learn exercise for Spine and knee joint. Don't sit on floor. Don't lift heavy things. Apply volini cream before sleeping. Take Calcium; multivitamin and vitamin D 3 for 2 month.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. The duty of your mind is to think. The mind will continue thinking unless you provide it some creative task. The continuous thinking could always wander into negative territories. Therefore, to avoid negative thinking, you need to be creative.
