I have pain in my left knee. How it will be curable. What are the remedies for it. Please suggest some medicine.
Knee 2 quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Lybrate-user ji you have neither mentioned your age nor your weight and height. This things are very important for knee pain. If your weight is more for your height you need to reduce it. Knee pain wil b due to it most of the time. If your age is more say more than 55 or 60 you may have damaged cartilaze of your joint for that you need to consult an irthopadician who in turn wil advice you to undergo an x ray and an mri. From which he will diagnose your problem nd give you some medicine to rejuvunate your cartilase. Along with it he will advice you to strength your qudriceps muscles for which you need to visit a physiotherapist. You need to stopusing stairs. Do not sit on floor I mean do not use indian toilet instead use western toilet. Do not bend your knee more than 90 degree means use dinning table to take you lunch dinner or breakfast do not sit on floor. Do not squate. And if he feels that the damage is unrepairable than he will advise you to undergo a surgery that is knee replacement.

I feel pain in my knees joint while getting up or bending down. It is on and off. I go for morning cycling every day for about 45 minutes I dive over flyovers and ups and downs. My weigh is normal. I wish to know cycling is going to reduce or increase the pain. I am doubting is this pain is because of increase in uric acid. I have clear urine and drink about 2 litres of water every day. Pls. Help me. I want to some solution for this problem.

You can get uric acid levels checked, though that may not be the sole reason for the pain in knees, it could be due to degenerative changes in the joint, you should stop cycling it will aggravate the pain, also avoid squatting, cross legged sitting, climbing stairs up and down and see how the pain is. If it is not better then you consult a physiotherapist and get appropriate treatment done along with the exercises which will benefit your knee muscles. Also if you are walking daily on an uneven surface that should be limited, instead walk on a smooth or plain surface like a park, ground etc.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take BioD3 Max 1 tab dailyx10 Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x5days Do back(spine)/shoulder/knee exercises Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take Do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days,then contact me again.

I'm 34 years old male. I have been having lower backache for two weeks now. It just came suddenly. I used to carry water everyday. I felt tingling in my right leg also below the knee. I have consulted a Dr. Also. He did x-ray and gave some medications. He told x-ray is normal and its just muscle strain. But the pain still there now though not that much painful. Is it really just muscle strain or slipped disc?

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket . And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back . you may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * Gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * Surya Namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * In diet vegetable protein of cereal , B complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Hi I can understand your problem. # relax & stay positive. # take hot and cold fomentation. # learn posture care exercise. # use lumbar support. # take break every 20 minutes. # do strengthening exercise of back and core muscles not all back pains are same. Do share investigation reports if you have any.
