Hi I'm 22 years old stretchmarks are coming on my forehand nd shoulders since 4 years I use to work out daily one hour so please suggest me any cream or gel or oil to reduce this.

Sugar is used as a natural exfoliant for skin. It is one of the best home remedies to get rid of stretch marks. Take a tablespoon of sugar. Add some drops of almond oil and lemon juice in it. Stir it well and apply directly on the stretch marks. Rub it for 8-10 minutes and then, take a shower. Continue to use it for one month or so, until the stretch marks gets fade out.

I have got stretch marks on my shoulders but since last month they have started appearing on my arms i. E on my biceps and they are red in colour and very annoying what should I do? Is this because of me going to the gym? It has been 5 months since I have started gymming. What should I do to avoid them?

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Pathanamthitta
Stretch marks are due to loss of elastic fibres in skin. These fibres ensure when the skin is stretched it comes back to its normal state. In obesity, pregnancy cushings disease, these marks are formed when the fibres break and they can no longer resume their action. Natural remedies won't reverse this problem. But medications and procedures vil help. You can still use a mixture of olive oil and cocoa or shea butter to lighten it.

Alumina is very good for dry skin and according to the symptoms ars al 30, nux mos, petroleum, plumbum, graphites also cure the dryness of the skin, all in low potency. The affected parts should be kept moist by applying a mixture of half ounce of calendula extract q in one and half ounce of olive oil to be applied three to four times a day.

Hello, you can take homoeopathic medicine berberis aquifolium 30 (4 drops in little water) thrice a day for a week and update. *clean your skin gently with a mild face wash removing all dirt or make-up. Wash many times a day with plain water. *get an adequate amount of sleep. *avoid touching your face with your hands or try to squeeze pimples, it may leave permanent scars and spread the infection. *make a habit of 8-10 glasses of water daily. *avoid fried and spicy food. *include fruits, raw vegetables and fresh vegetable juices in your diet. *avoid stress and anger. *avoid harsh skin products.

To remove your marks, there is a procedure known as microneedling radiofrequency. This procedure is done by dermatologists and cosmetologists and takes about half an hour per sitting. For best results, you should take 6 to 8 sittings of this procedure. These marks will not go by creams so do not waste your precious money on them. Directly go to any dermatologist and ask for this procedure that I just mentioned. You will get very good results. Take care.

Hello doctor, I'm 24, I'm 42 kgs, and my breast size is 28 I'm not happy with that, help me with some tips to increase my breast size faster.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
1.Build your pectoral muscles. Building the pectoral (chest) muscles underneath your breasts with regular strength training exercise can help improve the size, firmness, and perkiness of the overlying breast. Below are two sample exercises you may want to try out: • Chest presses: Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Hold one dumbbell in each hand with your elbows bent at a 90 degree angle. Use your chest muscles to lift the weights up toward the ceiling and touch them together. Lower the weights to their starting position slowly and smoothly. Do 3 sets of 12-15 reps 3-5 times per week. • Push-ups: Get on your hands and knees. Stretch your legs behind you and balance on the tips of your feet. Bend your arms to lower your body toward the ground. Use your arms and chest to return back to the original position. Keep your back straight and your hips elevated so that your body stays in a straight line. You can lower your knees to the ground if standard push-ups are too hard. Do 3 sets of 12-15 reps 3-5 times per week. 2.Also focus on your back and shoulder muscles. Your chest muscles aren't the only ones you should work. In general, when strength training, you'll want to ensure that you exercise all of your major muscle groups each week to ensure maximum total-body strength and prevent injury. In addition, toning muscle groups besides those in your chest can also have positive effects on your bust size. For instance, strengthening your shoulder and back muscles can give your upper body a toned, firm appearance and make it easier to maintain pert, erect posture. Both of these can make your breasts appear bigger and more shapely. Get started working your back and shoulders with the sample exercises below: • Y Raise: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Hold one dumbbell with each hand in front of each thigh. In a smooth, controlled movement, raise the dumbbells out in front of you and over your head into a "Y" shape. Keep your core firm and maintain an erect posture as you do this. Complete the exercise by lowering the weights back into their starting position slowly. Do 3 sets of 15-20 reps 3-5 times per week. • Renegade Row: Grab two dumbbells and get into push-up position with straight arms. Keeping your hips stationary, pull one dumbbell from the floor up to your chest, keeping your elbow tucked against your body. Lower the dumbbell back to the ground and repeat with the opposite arm. Do 3 sets of 12-15 reps 3-5 times per week. 3.Don't worry about becoming bulky. It's a common myth that women can become bulky, muscle-bound, and unattractive from strength-training exercise. In fact, it's almost impossible for women to get big, burly muscles without becoming professional body builders or using steroids. Women don't produce as much of the hormone testosterone as men, making it much more difficult for them to naturally put on big muscles. While women are perfectly capable of becoming stronger and more toned, they generally have to have the schedules of professional athletes (or use steroids) to even begin to appear muscly in a masculine way. 4.If you are thin, consider gaining weight. Breasts are comprised primarily of fatty connective tissue. Like the rest of the fatty tissue on the body, this is eventually lost as a woman loses weight. If you are thin and have small breasts, putting on just a few extra pounds of fat can help fill out your breasts. However, you'll want to avoid an all-out weight-gaining binge, as the negative effects of rapid weight gain and obesity are numerous.Your best bet is to increase your calorie intake moderately for a week or two, then judge your results. If you don't like any changes you see, return to your previous diet. • However, it's important to note that all women carry their weight differently. Some women gain weight in their thighs, belly, or elsewhere before gaining weight in their chest. • It is important to follow a healthy diet even if you are trying to gain weight. Increase your intake of lean proteins, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates, rather than foods rich in unhealthy fats and sugars. In addition, always remember to stay active .I recommend about 2 hours and 30 minutes of aerobic exercise per week along with at least two sessions of strength-training. 5.Don't believe the "spot-reducing" myth. It's an unfortunately common belief that it is possible to burn fat in certain areas of the body by selectively exercising those areas. In fact, there is no such thing as spot-reduction — you can fat or lose fat from your body as a whole, but you can't gain or lose it just from certain areas.] This concept has been repeatedly debunked by scientific research. So, if you're trying to get bigger breasts, don't waste time trying to spot-reduce in other areas of your body. It just won't work! • While you can't selectively gain or lose fat by targeting certain areas of the body, you can selectively build muscle by targeting certain areas with strength training exercises. However, keep in mind that most people look their best (and are less at risk for injury) when they have a balanced, varied workout routine. Suffering from Dark Circles? 5 Effective Therapies that can do Wonders

Suffering from Dark Circles? 5 Effective Therapies that can do Wonders

Suffering from dark circles under your eyes? Here are effective therapies that can do wonders!
Are dark circles under the eyes caused due to stress, or is the stress about dark circles worrying you and making them further darker?! On a serious note though, there are definite cosmetic therapies that can help you get rid of the dark circles under your eyes. Dark circles can be caused by issues ranging from thin skin in the lower eyelids to poor circulation to pigment variations, and therefore the reason should be identified properly so that the treatment can be done accordingly.

For some people, poor blood flow to the eyes can be the reason for dark circles too.

  1. These people would benefit from using double pillows so that blood does not build up under the eyes. In the morning, a cold compress (a towel soaked in cold water) can be applied to narrow the blood vessels and reduce flow.
  2. Alternately, eye creams with caffeine can be used to narrow the blood vessels.
  3. Creams with Arnica which have anti-inflammatory properties are also beneficial in reducing the under-eye darkness.
  4. Creams with green tea or grape seed oil improve capillary wall thickness and thereby promote smoother flow of blood.
  5. Diet can be modified to include flavonol-rich chocolates and omega 3 fatty acid rich foods like walnuts and salmons.

Make-up tips:

A good under-eye moisturizing cream with glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, vitamin E, vitamin K can be used. These help in constricting veins and capillaries and also improve skin hydration. A yellow or gold-based concealer that reflects light should be used followed by translucent face powder. There are also minor surgical procedures offered to reduce the effect of dark circles. Read on to know more.

  1. Laser and/or skin resurfacing: Laser can be used to trigger the superficial layers to produce more collagen and improve overall skin quality.
  2. Use of dermal fillers: Hyaluronic acid can be injected into the skin under the eye bags. Where the skin is very thin, this will make the dark circles less visible, and the effect can last up to 2 years.
  3. Grafting fat particles: The fat can be grafted from another part of the body and injected under the eyelid. This again would reduce the effect of dark circles.
  4. Cheek lift: If you are having dark circles in addition to eye puffiness and deep nasolabial folds, a cheek lift is a good option. This will produce a more permanent solution to your dark circles.
  5. Blepharoplasty: The next invasive method is the eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty. The skin of the upper and lower eyelids and the skin around the eye are treated to reduce the effect of dark circles in this procedure.

While dark circles are definitely an issue, there are ways to manage this effectively. A word of caution though, all these can be undertaken only after you engage in a detailed discussion with your dermatologist.

Hi, following are a few things I would advise for your son. (a) a mediterranean diet rich in whole grain cereals, leafy greens and fresh fruits. Especially, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, green peas, lentils etc all help in this condition. (b) make sure, his diet is a low protein one. Include healthy proteins like lean meat and fresh water fishes. Avoid salty fishes including prawns, shell fish etc all. (c) evaluate food items and also environments he is allergic to, and try that those triggers are best avoided. (d) stay well hydrated. Fresh fruit juice including that of sweet lime, lemon, oranges, apple etc all help. (e) avoid hot, spicy, chilly, sour etc all diet that trigger inflammatory conditions. (f) avoid high calorie, sweets, greasy, oily and fried food stuff including fast foods. (g) topically (external) use 0.5% aloe vera gel two to three times daily. (h) a good multi-vitamin supplement with zinc & folic acid helps. Administer as directed by your paediatrician. (i) 5 ml of dabur honitus taken internally, two to three times daily, helps ameliorate cold & cough conditions. Hope the above-mentioned helps. Take care and all the very best.

Hi, use of Dermaroller alone has minimal benefit but if used along with platelet rich plasma or hair meso therapy cocktails will give added benefit. Again depends on what type of hair fall you are having.
