Psoriasis is an auto immune disease and we can control it but not cure it fully and if it has lead to arthritis than you will have to take medication but also contact a Rheumatologist for further guidance.

I have back pain, my age is 25 years and I also ride bike for work so what I do to reduce my pain?
Hi, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc and with no other associated constitutional symptoms like evening rise in temperature, loss of weight, excessive sweating at night etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There are many causes of pain in shoulder region but you are very young and should not be having persistent pain. Is it one shoulder or both which are affected? apart from pain, do you also have stiffness in the affected joints, skin redness or any other s/s of inflammation like swelling, local warmth etc? is there any previous h/o injury to the affected shoulder also? please send me the relevant investigations and treatment taken till now. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

I am 46 years old, Prasad. I have right leg knee joint problem like when I close and open it gives sound and sometimes light pain. How to prevent further deterioration of knee joint? For your kind information, wherever I go I used to walk about 4 kms a day, also my job involves accessing different floors in a building only by staircase, and no lift available. I have no personal vehicle and use public transport for commuting.

I am 27 years old male. I have a problem of male pattern baldness and I have lost hairs from the front side of my head. The back and middle portion is still full of hairs. I want to undergo hair transplant to cover up the area where baldness has started to show. I want to know the price and how long will it take to generate hairs from the front bald portion.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, I can understand your concern. By the way you r explaining, it's almost grade 7 of baldness. Hair transplant is the only option to get back the hair. It has to be taken from the back of head and implanted in the bald areas. Depending on the area and requirements, number of grafts vary. Maximum upto 3000 to 3200 grafts can be taken if your donor Area is good. Two methods there FUT (strip method) and FUE. Kindly do share the details and pictures for analysis regarding that. Cost depends on the number of grafts and the type of surgery.
