My age is 24. Height 6 ft. Weight 76 kg. From 1 year I am having many problems in my body like bones and muscle pain in whole body. Numbness and tingling jn hands and feet in increasing frequency. Abdominal pain. Excessive and rapid and new hair growth in whole body. Chest and belly fat enlargement too much. Even in eyebrows hair dense too. Let me tell you I had habit of masturbating 5 times daily since 5 years by rubbing penis against bed for hours. But 1 year before I realized that I do not have beard except moustache and chin why. So I search that its due to low testosterone. So I left masturbation but 2 month after leaving it I started facing problems. But I do not know whether it is due to masturbation or any other reason. No doctor is able to detect it .i had my cervical x ray it shows C2 and C3 segmentation incomplete. My abdominal ct with contrast shows right renal calculi of 3 mm. My vitamin b12 is 185pg/ml. My vitamin d is reducing day by day. I do not know why. I used to be in sunlight. Never faced problem like this .earlier it was 140 .now it is 70. A bad smell comes from my urine. Very bad. My right testis measure 2.5*1.6 cms and left 2.5*1.5 cms.i am also noticing reduction in testis size. Earlier they were large. .why my numbness and tingling is increasing. I already left masturbation 1 year ago .my problems are getting worse please help.

Twisting injury in leg can sometimes also cause damage to internal knee structures. If you have persistent pain & swelling, get yourself checked for meniscus or ligament injury.

Hello lybrate user, arthritis of knee joint is quite common at this age. The management would depend on your symptoms. Firstly, pain would be your major symptom. If you mild pain which is not affecting your daily activities you can be treated with anti-inflammatory medications, painkillers, physiotherapy to improve the muscle strength around your knee joint and increase your range of movement. If pain is not adequately controlled and you still have difficulty in your daily activities then you might want to think of some surgical management. Secondly, if severe stiffness hinders your daily activities and does not improve with physiotherapy exercises then again you might require an earlier surgical intervention. Thirdly, if you already have a severe deformity at the knee joint then again you might benefit with an earlier surgical intervention. I would also advise you certain life style modifications such as weight reduction, avoiding heavy loads on your knees such as climbing stairs, squatting, sitting cross legged. But must continue your regular exercise and walking. If it pains then do it with breaks in-between. Surgical intervention would be undertaken only if you do not respond to above therapy. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I want to know your detailed clinical history as to the duration of these pains, your relevant investigations, your treatment records till now. It helps me to better understand your condition and prescribe accordingly. Please also mention your co-morbid conditions and drug allergy. Normally at your age we can safely presribe medicine like - tab ultracet or tab etoshine for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation - daily brisk walks for 2-3 km per day - you can take multivitamin like tab zincovit 1 tab once daily for around 2-3 weeks. If your symptoms are not improving I would advise you to get some blood tests like serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels, esr, crp levels done and share reports with me. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I fell from a chair 5 days back and fractured my right elbow. The doctor diagnosed it as a radial head fracture with minimal displacement. One doc suggested that I do a surgery and put a screw. I saw another doc more experienced and he said surgery is not required and it can do more damage than help. He put me inside a full arm cast and asked me to wear it for 3 weeks. I wanted to know where the recovery will be faster, with or without surgery. If I have to wear this cast for 3 weeks, will it take much longer to get full ROM of wrist and elbow. Also while I am wearing the cast can I move my shoulders up and down. Can I flex my hand muscles. Anything else I can do that will help me recover faster. I am a software guy so need to work a lot on the computer so quick recovery is essential for me. Thanks

Dear Lybrate user Fracture is a break in the surface of bone either through its cortex or articular surface. When a bone breaks it is bound to injure the surrounding soft tissue like muscle and ligaments, etc. Treatment depends upon severity, displacement, type of fracture, etc. As you told it's minimum displaced or undisplaced fracture need only cuff and collar sling. Firstly Immobilisation phase. In which immobilise the joint or limb atleast three weeks to promote proper healing. Its important phase once bone heal properly then no worries. You can bend or extend your fingers too. After that second phase comes that is Mobilisation phase. Now joint or bone become able to move through proper exercises. Exercises will increase blood circulation and pain stiffness relief and provide strength to muscle. For good results exercises should be undersupervision of qualified physiotherapist.

Start spinal extension exercises (learn from physiotherapist) and do them 20 mins 3 times a day. Get the following blood tests fasting: calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphotase, vitamin d levels and uric acid and revert back with reports.
