I am having severe back pain from past 4 days. I am not able to bend myself and my posture has also bent a little. I can't walk straight. I think it happened after I was kicking the active when it was not starting for long. I think it's tachakyu that we call in Gujarati.

Hello apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation .take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. Avoid fermented food. Junk food.

Hello, your problem is may be due to following reasons- 1. Overweight, 2. Deficiency of vitamin d3 or calcium, or lack of water content in the body, 3. Postural stress, 4. Muscle strain, 5. Arthritis etc. Please send me all investigation reports if available. Till then you can follow these advises:- 1. Take calcium supplements and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Avoid squatting and weight bearing activities. 4. Use western toilet. 5. Wear shock absorbing, good quality of shoes while walking. 6. Keep roll of a towel under your knees while sleeping. 7. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints before getting out of your bed. 8. Walk straight with shoulder protracted. 9. Perform deep breathing exercises or yoga for proper functioning of lungs. I can explain you stiffness and pain reducing techniques, if interested. Wish you a happy and pain free life thanks.

Hi I have lower back pain recurring sometimes, resulting into bed rest. MRI report shows mild disk bulging and ortho doctor prescribed few yoga poses and Vitamin-D and one more muscle relaxant tablet. I still do have mild pain if I sit in Indian style toilet, but not intense, in the morning and it goes away towards the afternoon. Are there any other tests or consultation that you may would like to suggest?

Hi, I am here to help you. Please follow the following precautions 1. Avoid forward bending 2. Avoid lifting heavy weights 3. Only western toilets should be used. Avoid indian toilets. You can use what is called a" commode" with indian toilets. It is basically a chair with a hole in the centre 4. Sit only in chairs. Avoid sitting in floor. 5. Sleep in cot. Avoid sleeping in floor 6. Change posture frequently. Avoid sitting / sleeping n same posture. 7. Travel by train. Avoid long distance travel in cars, buses. Hope you found the answer helpful.

I am 23yr old female, I have been suffering from backache and difficulty in standing due to dragging down pain in back (thoracic). This problem started 7-8yrs back and I is now worse. I did physiotherapy once and got benefitted from it. I am mostly suspecting it to be postural backache. But if I sit or stand straight then pain increases. Now since couple of months I have been getting pain in lower limbs also. I have ignored this problem since many yrs but now I want to get rid of it asap before it gets too late! kindly suggest me investigations to be done and treatment.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and do neck exercise regularly to loosen the muscles and if necessary get a xray cervical vertebrae done to rule out the cause

I sustained a small wrist injury while lifting weights in gym. The pain has sustained for a week now inspite of applying heat and volini. There is pain in twisting the wrist but not if I press with my other hand. Do I need an xray or should I wait for some more time to heal?

Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

Piriformis stretch 1. Lie on your back. 2. Cross your left leg over your right so that your left ankle rests on your right knee. 3. Use your hands to grab hold of your left knee and pull it gently toward the opposite shoulder. 4. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds. 5. Relax, and then repeat with the other leg. 6. Repeat this cycle 2 to 4 times.

Take Diet- rice, wheat,moong (green gram), kulatha (horse gram), Til (sesame), Cows ghee, Parwar, louki (white gourd), anar (pomegranate), garlic, milk Lifestyle-gentle massage with medicated oil, fomentation,rest Avoid- Diet -barley, chana,mutter, karela,supari, jamun,dried or frozen meat, stale food, pungent food, chilled water Lifestyle- stress, keeping late nights, curbing of natural urges, excessive sexual activity, exposure to dry n cold air Care - Appropriate rest necessary, avoid prolonged rest, always maintain a good posture, weight to be kept under control, avoid lifting heavy objects, repeated bending & twisting Indulge in moderate exercise or yogasanas under supervision, Avoid any jerks during exercise, or any physical activity, Avoid exercise if The pain increases with it, Normal activities to be increased gradually, Avoid extremely soft beds, Use appropriate pillow as well as bed to Balance The posture during sleep. Fomentation with hot pads or hot water bag. Yogasanas- Parwatasana, Bhujangasana, shawasana, uttanpadasan, Suptavajrasana, Ardhamatsyendrasana.

Hello. Sorry to hear this. Ask her to meet a physiotherapist who will suggest back and core strengthening exercises for her. She should not sit continuously for more than 30 min and should get up and move around for 1 min after every 30 min. Regards.

Hi Thanks for your query and Welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr Akshay from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi. Actually pain at calf/Leg region can be due to many reasons , commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to Tendons, Nerves, Blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be : - Ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - Take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - Stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - Intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - Slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - We will get some blood tests for you - Serum Vitamin D and serum Potassium levels, ESR and CRP Once you have all these reports then you can contact me as i can advise you for proper supplementation Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
