4 Easy Ways to Take Care of Your Oily Skin

Dermatology Backed Expert Skin & Hair Care Solution
Dermatologist, Nashik
4 Easy Ways to Take Care of Your Oily Skin

Oily skin results from overactive sebaceous glands that produce excessive sebum, which can clog pores of the skin. Clogged pores result in inflammation on the skin, thus causing breakouts. Oily skin can also appear shiny and dirty as oil tends to attract dirt. Oily skin also makes you prone to white heads, black heads and pimples. Open pores is another concern that people with oily skin have. These open pores can look disfiguring on the skin and lead to acne flare ups. You should focus on keeping your skin clean to prevent breakouts. It is recommended to undergo facials to keep your skin healthy and refreshed, and thus reduce oiliness on the skin.

Ways to control oil

  1. Facials help in renewing dead skin cells and improving blood circulation on the skin. This also helps in getting rid of the waste from under your skin to remove the puffiness. With this process, the pores are cleaned effectively so that there is no buildup of impurities. Any cleansing treatment for oily skin should also focus on controlling the oil so that the skin remains oil free for a long time period.
  2. You can also use a facial that uses botanical extracts such as burdock roots, kudzu and chamomile flower. These ingredients help in controlling and normalizing oil production and help to remove dirt and impurities from your skin effectively.
  3. If you have a skin that is acne prone, then you need to adopt a slightly different approach. Use a cleanser made from tea to soothe any inflammation on the skin. The toner should contain salicylic acid because of its anti-inflammatory properties that help in regulating oil production.
  4. Use a mask that is made out of sea mud to clean your pores efficiently. This mud absorbs extra oil and also prevents further breakouts. You may also use a mask that consists of buttermilk and synergistic tea blend to cool your skin.

Oily skin requires moisturizing, just like any other skin type. In this regard, make sure the moisturizers you use are mostly water based and oil free. The moisturizers should contain zinc oxide as it protects your skin and also reduces the redness of your skin that results from acne problem. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Hello. Hyperpigmentation could be because of many reasons. So, get thorough body check up done and share the reports with me. Meantime, you can start using Bioforce's Blooume - 55 ointment (for clear skin) twice daily and also use Bakson's Suncare Sunscreen, 20-30 minutes before stepping out under the sun along with oral medication – Sepia 200/ once daily for 20 days.

My daughter aged 19 years is suffering from Urticaria. Please suggest medication for her and also inform causes for t...
Urticaria (sometimes called hives) is an itchy rash caused by tiny amounts of fluid that leak from blood vessels just under the skin surface. Urticaria is classed as: • Acute urticaria - if it develops suddenly and lasts less than six weeks. Most cases last 24-48 hours. About 1 in 6 people will have at least one bout of urticaria in their life. It can affect anyone at any age. Some people have recurring bouts of acute urticaria. • Chronic urticaria - if it persists long-term. Chronic means persistent or ongoing. In chronic urticaria a rash develops on most days for at least six weeks. This is uncommon. About 1 in 1,000 people develop chronic urticaria at some stage in their life. It is more common in women than it is in men. Some people have an urticarial rash on and off for months, or even years. • The rash can affect any area of skin. Small raised areas called weals (or wheals) develop on the skin. The weals look like mild blisters and are itchy. Each weal is white or red and is usually surrounded by a small red area of skin which is called a flare. The weals are commonly 1-2 cm across but can vary in size. There may be just a few but sometimes many develop over various parts of the body. Sometimes weals that are next to each other join together to form larger ones. The weals can be any shape but are often round. • As a weal fades, the surrounding flare remains for a while. This makes the affected area of skin look blotchy and red. The blotches then fade gradually and the skin returns to normal. Each weal usually lasts less than 24 hours. However, as some fade away, others may appear. It can then seem as if the rash is moving around the body. The rash may clear completely only to return a few hours or days later. A trigger is thought to cause the release of chemicals (such as histamine) from cells in the skin. The chemicals cause fluid to leak from tiny blood vessels under the skin surface. The fluid pools to form weals. The chemicals also cause the blood vessels to open wide (dilate) which causes the flare around the weals. The trigger is not known or identified in many cases. Possible causes in some cases include the following: • In many cases the cause may be an autoimmune problem. Autoimmune means that our own immune system causes damage to some of our body's own cells. Normally, our body makes proteins called antibodies to fight infections; for example, when we catch a cold or have a sore throat. These antibodies help to kill the germs causing the infection. In autoimmune diseases the body makes similar antibodies (autoantibodies) that attack its normal cells. In urticaria, these antibodies attach to cells under the skin and cause them to release histamine and other chemicals. The reason why this happens is not clear. • An allergy to a food, medicine or parasite (such as worms in the gut) is an uncommon cause of persistent (chronic) urticaria. A skin specialist may advise tests if an allergy is suspected. • Physical urticaria. This is a type of urticaria in which a rash appears when the skin is physically stimulated. The most common example of this is called dermatographism (dermatographia) - a rash develops over areas of skin which are firmly stroked. In other cases an urticarial rash is caused by heat, cold, emotion, exercise, or strong sunlight. This kind of urticaria often causes bouts of sudden-onset (acute) symptoms, but sometimes causes chronic symptoms. • A germ (bacterium) called Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) which is commonly found in the stomach may be a factor in some cases. If you are infected with this bacterium and it is cleared with treatment, it may cure the problem with urticaria. Occasionally a trigger such as a food is identified which causes the rash. You may then be able to avoid it. However, it is unusual to identify a trigger. For example, if a food trigger is suspected, then you may be asked to keep a food diary to try to identify which food is responsible. Various other factors may make symptoms worse (but are not the main trigger). The following are things that some people have found helpful, but there is little proof that they work in everybody: • Try avoiding tight clothes, as weals sometimes tend to occur at sites of local pressure. For example, under belts, under tight-fitting shoes, etc. • Try keeping cool, as urticaria may tend to flare up in warmer conditions. In particular, keep the bedroom cool at night. • Some things worth considering include: alcohol, hot baths, strong sunlight, and undue emotion. If you think any of these are making symptoms worse then it may be helpful to avoid them. • See a doctor if you think a medicine is making symptoms worse, as a change in medication may be an option. Some medicines that may be triggers include aspirin,anti-inflammatory painkillers, codeine, and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. • Homoeopathic treatment • SULPHUR 30 ( Dr.Reckeweg) Drink 5 drops in 1 spoon fresh water today night 30 minutes after eating or drinking anything at bedtime. • Nw forget about Sulphur 30 after this nd just keep it in your refrigerator. No need to further take this medicine.I will let u know what to do with this medicine afterwards. • FORMULA-D TABS ( BAKSON ) Chew 1 tab 3 time a day for 1 month DERM-AID SOAP ( BAKSON) Use only thiss soap on body • P.L.30 ( Dr.Reckeweg) 4 tabss 3 times a day.Ask the pharmacy incharg from where u buy these medicines to prepare this P.L.30. • Report after 1 month • Eat nutritious diet • Avoid nuts, chocklates, dry fruits, fasst, fried food. • •

Use saslic foaming face wash for oily skin. Wipe the excess oil with wet wipes (keep them handy) do not apply creams or lotions. Use a sun screen that is oil controlling in the morning. Cleansing-toning and nicely washing the face daily before sleep will improve your skin. Use himalaya neem purifying face pack once in 10-15 days.

Hii, Is it possible to treat dark skin. I have dark skin from childhood. thank you.

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy

Hii,
Is it possible to treat dark skin. I have dark skin from childhood.
thank you.
There are many reasons why your skin would turn dark. Sun tan, overweight, pigmentation disorders like acanthosis or melasma, nutritional deficiency etc are some conditions. Unless someone examines you, we cannot know the cause. Unless we find out the cause it is difficult and pointless to treat. Please send photos with detailed history in private chat for proper treatment. Use a good sunscreen and start exercising. Take lots of fruits and green vegetables in your diet.

Homoeopathic treatment GLOW CARE CREAM ( LORDS) Apply during daytime GLOWCARE DROPS ( LORDS ) 20 drops in 1 spoon water 3 timess daily AQUIPLUS CREAM ( HAPDCO ) apply thick coat on face at night 6-8 glass water daily 2 glasss milk daily Take nutritious diet nd exercise regularily Lemon Juice A quick and easy solution is lemon juice. Lemons have vitamin C that can lighten dark spots on your face. It’s easy to apply. 1. Put some fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the affected skin area. 2. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with plain water. 3. Continue applying this dark spot removal home remedy for at least two weeks to get the desired result. If you have delicate or sensitive skin, you can dilute the lemon juice with plain water, rosewater, or honey. You can also use lime juice to get rid of black spots, applying it in the same manner as described above. 2. Buttermilk Buttermilk is also beneficial in getting rid of dark spots. Like lemon juice, it also helps fade blemishes and black spots but without causing burning sensation. 1. Take four teaspoons of buttermilk. 2. Add two teaspoons of fresh tomato juice. 3. Mix the two ingredients (both have excellent bleaching properties) and then apply. 4. Wash it off after 15 minutes. The lactic acid in milk too, will gradually reduce skin pigmentation, and brighten and tone your overall skin complexion. So, if you do not have buttermilk, simply apply soak a cotton ball in milk and dab it directly on your spots. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off Put milk on a cotton ball and dab it directly on your spots. Repeat this procedure twice daily for four to five weeks. You can also prepare a solution by mixing milk and honey and apply the solution to your dark spots, leaving it on for 10 minutes.

Laser treatment to decrease second chin. Good or bad? Is their any side effects? Kindly Tell me.
Of course it will be good to get rid of a double chin. Chin reduction with laser is not much preferred. Laser skin tightening is not a very successful technique. A minor surgery/botox/liposuction are successful techniques. If the double chin is not very big, botox will be a good option. Do go to a well qualified dermatologist.
