There are dark spots on my face and my face is getting dull so what should I use?

There are dark spots on my face and my face is getting dull so what should I use?
Hi, Do follow CTMP, i. E. Cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30 – a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare cream may be, 20-30 minutes before going out daily and repeat it's application after every 3-4hrs.) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. Eat right and healthy that too on time, relieve your stress/ tensions, sleep well, stop smoking, as this restricts blood flow to your face and leaves you with a greyish complexion. Lead a healthy lifestyle! Apart from this, avoid anger, anxiety, fear which increases stress hormone in the body and subsequently makes your complexion darker! (Hormonal imbalances also plays a major role). If the dull and dark skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter. Diet: -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon, orange, gooseberry, etc. Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, can notaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce). If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: Use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel or Bakson’s Fairness cream daily at night. Home remedies: Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes And then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this 2-3 times a day. Another option is squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix one to two tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Make a paste of'Kasturi Manjal' (wild turmeric) with rose petals, saffron and raw milk which is very effective. To exfoliate your skin, mix two teaspoons each of lemon juice and sugar. Apply the mixture on your face, neck and hands. Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy glowing skin.

Hi make a paste of neem leaves and apply on the targeted pimples. If you cannot get fresh neem leaves, try to get some dried bottled neem leaves, steep for 10 minutes in warm water and use as a paste. Apply pranacharya face glow on your face for 15 minutes then wash it with warm water.

No it not helpful. No medicine is still made to lighten your skin colour. But you may prevent skin tan caused by sunlight. You may also look fairer by creams. You may look fairer if you consume lots of carrots or carrot juice. Your face looks fairer after facial or bleaching. Girls look fairer after waxing. You may be fairer with glowing skin if you consume 1-2 kg of fresh seasonal fruits with lot of salad and cooked green vegetable.

Homoeopathic treatment UNDER EYE CREAM ( BAKSON) Apply at night under the eye in circular fashion GLOWCARE DROPS ( LORDS) 20 drops in 20 ml freh water 3 times daily Take a good Iron rich diet likeApple,Pomegranate,Spinach nd all other green vegetables 2 glass milk daily 6-8 glass extra water daily Try to have a sound sleep HOME REMEDIES Slice up a papaya. Papaya fruit contains the enzyme papain. Papain helps exfoliate the skin, making way for new skin cells to emerge. Papaya also contains Vitamin C and Vitamin E, so it's a dark spot fading superstar. Papain is most concentrated while the papaya is still green, but you can use riper fruit as well. Peel and remove the seeds from a papaya, and try one of the following treatments: 1. Slice a piece off of the papaya, and lay or hold it on the dark spots that you want to get rid of. Hold it there for 20-30 minutes. Repeat twice a day for best results. 2.Make a papaya facial mask. Cut the papaya into chunks, then use a blender or food processor to blend the fruit into a smooth paste. Apply the mask to your face and neck. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, then rinse well.

Exfoliative Dermatitis (Peeling of Skin) - Can it Be Treated?

MBBS, Diploma In Dermatology And Venerology And Leprosy (DDVL), Diploma in Venerology & Dermatology (DVD)
Dermatologist, Nanded
Exfoliative Dermatitis (Peeling of Skin) - Can it Be Treated?

The term exfoliative dermatitis literally means peeling or shedding of the skin. It is also known as erythroderma. This condition is characterized by the reddening and peeling away of large patches of skin all over the body. The skin may also turn rough and scaly and feel painful or itchy. Exfoliative dermatitis is caused by a skin cell disorder, which causes a rapid turnover in skin cells. People suffering from chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis, autoimmune diseases, eczema and seborrheic dermatitis are at a high risk of suffering from this condition.

Apart from affecting a person’s appearance, the shedding of skin cells can also cause dehydration and nutritional deficiencies especially of protein and vitamin A and D. The loss of skin cells also makes you vulnerable to serious infections and damage to muscles and bones. It can also lead to hair loss and thickening of nails. Thus it is important to treat this condition as early as possible.
Treatment for this condition depends on a number of factors including the patient’s age, overall health, tolerance to specific types of medication and procedures and extent of reaction. When treating this disease, it is important to identify the root cause as it resists treatment until the root cause has been treated. To do this, a skin biopsy may be needed along with a physical examination and blood tests.

Patients suffering from acute exfoliative dermatitis may also require hospitalization. Hospitalization may also be suggested for elderly patients or people living alone. This is in cases where the condition has affected the patient’s fluid levels and internal body temperature. Emergency treatment can include:

  • Discontinuation of medications that may be causing this condition as a side effect
  • Application of petroleum jelly on the affected area to reduce fluid loss and prevent secondary infections
  • Non adherent dressing of the affected areas if the skin is crusting or weeping
  • Correction of body temperature through cooling baths or heated blankets
  • Antibiotics and intravenous fluids to combat dehydration

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist and ask a free question.

To get rid of marks, there are a variety of solutions. First of all topical creams with anti-pigmentation actives like kojic acid, licorice extract or alpha-hydroxy acids are ideal. Secondly, going to a dermatologist who can prescribe proper medications is ideal. Third, there are a variety of treatments like metabolic peels or lasers like renew, which are the best for getting rid of those marks.

It is vitiligo or leukoderma. Vitiligo is a skin condition that causes the skin to lose its color. As the skin pigment disappears, people see white (or lighter-colored) patches. Unlike Peecher, most people see changes to their skin color, but they don’t feel anything. It is caused by auto-immune damage of melanocytes in skin in patchy distribution. Melanocytes make the pigment of skin known as melanin. Usually it is slowly progressive. Vitiligo is not contagious. It is not life-threatening. But, vitiligo can be life-altering. Some people develop low self-esteem. They may no longer want to hang out with friends or develop serious depression. Most people have vitiligo for life, so it’s important to develop coping strategies. Steroids may be tried to arrest it's progression but usually have not become successful in most of cases. Sunlight stimulates formation of melanin by remaining melanocytes but may also damage the skin of white patches as melanin pigment which absorbs harmful ultraviolet radiaton from reaching deep layers of skin is absent in these patches. You may need to apply sunscreens to white patches while going out in sun to protect damage to deep layers of skin at patches Treatment of Vitiligo: The type of treatment that is best for you will depend on your preference, overall health, age and where the vitiligo appears on your body. Some people choose not to treat vitiligo as it is more of a cosmetic problem than a medical problem. 1. No medical treatment (use cosmetics to add lost color): Cosmetic options include makeup, a self-tanner and skin dye. Offers safe way to make vitiligo less noticeable. Often recommended for children because it avoids possible side effects from medicine. Drawbacks: Must be repeatedly applied, can be time-consuming, takes practice to get natural- looking result. 2. Medicine applied to the skin: Several different topical (applied to the skin) medicines can repigment the skin. Prescribed for small areas. The most commonly prescribed medicine is a potent or super-potent topical corticosteroid. About half, 45 percent, of patients regain at least some skin color after 4 to 6 months. A topical corticosteroid may be combined with another medicine to improve results. Topical medicine works best in people with darkly pigmented skin. Topical medicines are most effective on certain areas of the body, such as the face. They are least effective on the hands and feet. Not all topical medicines should be used on the face. Drawbacks: These medicines have possible side effects, so patients must be carefully monitored. A possible serious side effect of using of a topical corticosteroid for a year or longer is skin atrophy. This means the skin becomes paper thin, very dry and fragile. 3. Light treatment: Uses light to repigment the skin. Patient may sit in a light box or receive excimer laser treatments. Light box used to treat widespread vitiligo; laser used to treat small area. Works best on the face; least effective on hands and feet. Effective for many patients; about 70 percent see results with excimer laser. Results can disappear. About half, 44 percent, see results disappear within 1 year of stopping treatment. After 4 years, about 86 percent lose some color restored by treatment. May cause patients with darkly pigmented skin to see areas of darker skin after treatment, but treated skin usually matches untreated skin within a few months. Requires a time commitment. Patients need 2 to 3 treatments per week for several weeks. May be combined with another treatment such as topical corticosteroid. 4. PUVA light therapy: Uses UVA light and a medicine called psoralen to restore skin color. Psoralen may be applied to the skin or taken as a pill. Bagchi (a herb also contains psoalens, and may be used. Can treat widespread vitiligo. About 50 percent to 75 percent effective in restoring pigment to the face, trunk, upper arms and upper legs. Not very effective for the hands or feet. Time-consuming, requiring treatment at a hospital or PUVA center twice a week for about 1 year. Psoralen can affect the eyes, so this treatment requires eye exams before starting treatment and after finishing treatment. To help prevent serious side effects, patients need to be carefully monitored. 5. Surgery: May be an option when light therapy and medicines applied to the skin do not work. For adults whose vitiligo has been stable (not changed) for at least 6 months. Not for children. Not for people who scar easily or develop keloids (scars that rise above the skin). Different surgical procedures available. Most involve removing unaffected skin or skin cells and placing where need pigment. Can be effective for 90 percent to 95 percent of patients. Possible side effects include failure to work, cobblestone-like skin and infection. 6. Unconventional treatment: Some vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes have been reported to restore skin color in people who have vitiligo. Most have not been studied, so there is no evidence to support these treatments and no knowledge of possible side effects. Ginkgo biloba, an herb, has been studied in a clinical trial. Results from this trial indicate that the herb may restore skin color and stop vitiligo from worsening. In the ginkgo biloba trial, 10 patients given ginkgo biloba had noticeable or complete return of skin color. Two patients taking the placebo (contains no active ingredient) also had noticeable or complete return of skin color. Because some patients taking the placebo regained their skin color, more study is needed. 7. Depigmentation: This treatment removes the remaining pigment from the skin. Very few patients opt for this treatment. Removing the rest of the pigment leaves a person with completely white skin. It may be an option for an adult who has little pigment left and other treatment has not worked. Removing the remaining pigment can be an effective way to get one skin color. To remove the remaining color requires you to apply a cream once or twice day. This cream gradually removes color from the skin. Depigmentation can take 1 to 4 years. Once treatment is finished, some people see spots of pigment on their skin from being out in the sun. To get rid of these spots, you can use the cream that removed your remaining skin color. Outcome It is not possible to predict how a patient will respond to treatment. It is important to keep in mind that no one treatment works for everyone. Results can vary from one part of the body to another. Combining two or more treatments often gives the best results. Ayurvedic Treatment: Patanjali claims that:- Agnijith, a natural medicine for vitiligo, is scientifically proven for its capability to produce pigmentation in areas lacking color. The medicine is very effective for preventing vitiligo by blocking the loss of pigment cells from the skin. The medicine is also a cream with high anti-microbial properties, which is easily absorbed by the skin and increases blood circulation at the capillary level. Homeopathic Remedies for Vitiligo BOERICKE- SKIN- LEUCODERMA. Ars. Alb. Ars. Sulph.flavum. Bacillinum. Graphites. Merc sol. Nat. Mur. Nit. Acid. Nux vom. Phos. Sep. Sil. Sulph. Thuja. Aurvedic & Homeopathic doctors very enthusiastic claims but lack any controlled clinical trials and in fact their effect on vitiligo occurs very insignificant in most of cases. Actually they are not selling remedies to you but are selling hopes to you in exchange of money for ailments for which there is inadequate treatment in modern medicine (as some call it allopathy in retaliation). In fact truth reveals it self clearly when you go on practicals and medicine is a matter of truth, not a matter of faith as truth would treat your ailments, not the faith but faith is important as well to make you stick to treatment.

Dear doctors, I live in a low humid area. Mostly we will have dry weather only. I'm getting cracks all over my body. ...
1. Olive Oil Olive oil contains many antioxidants and healthy fatty acids that are good for your skin. It can soothe and condition dry skin all over your body. • Dab a thin layer of extra virgin olive oil under your regular moisturizer. • About a half an hour before taking a shower, rub some olive oil on your hands, legs and other areas with dry skin and massage lightly. Take a shower and then apply a light moisturizer. • Mix equal amounts of olive oil and fine brown sugar. Rub this homemade scrub on your dry skin using light, circular motions for a few minutes. Take a shower and then apply a light moisturizer. 2. Milk Cream The lactic acid present in milk cream helps exfoliate dry skin. The soothing nature of milk cream also helps preserve the skin’s delicate pH levels. Milk cream is also an excellent moisturizer. • Mix a few drops of lemon juice, one teaspoon of milk and two teaspoons of milk cream. Rub it on your hands and legs. Leave it on for a while before you take a shower. Do this once daily. • Add enough milk cream to three to four tablespoons of gram flour to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on your face, hands and legs. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do this once daily. 3. Milk Milk has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties that greatly help get rid of dry and itchy skin. Plus, the lactic acid in milk exfoliates dead skin cells and increases the skin’s ability to retain moisture. Also, it helps lighten your complexion. • Soak a washcloth in cold milk and put the cloth on your dry skin for five to seven minutes. Gently wash off the milk with another cloth soaked in lukewarm water. This way this natural moisturizer will remain on your skin. Do this every other day. • Add a few drops of rose water and lemon juice to four tablespoons of milk. Rub this solution all over your body. Leave it on for 10 minutes and wash your body with cold water. Follow this remedy twice daily. 4. Honey Honey is considered one of the best natural moisturizers loaded with antioxidant, antimicrobial, and humectant properties. Thus, it helps lock in moisture to make your skin extra soft and smooth. Plus, honey has many essential vitamins and minerals that help improve your skin’s health. • Before taking a bath or shower, rub honey all over your body and leave it on for five to 10 minutes. Repeat daily to enjoy well-moisturized skin. • Measure out equal parts of unprocessed honey, beeswax, and olive oil. Melt the beeswax in a small pan over low heat. Remove it from the heat and mix in the honey and then the olive oil. Apply this mixture all over your body and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then take a shower. Repeat daily or every other day. 5. Yogurt Yogurt is an excellent skin-hydrating agent. Plus, its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help soothe dry and itchy skin. Also, its lactic acid content helps get rid of any germs or bacteria that may cause dryness or itchiness. • Apply fresh yogurt on your hands, face and legs and gently massaging it into your skin. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then take a bath or shower. The mild exfoliating action of yogurt will remove dry skin and leave your skin refreshed. Do this once daily. • Mix one-half cup of yogurt and three tablespoons of mashed papaya. Stir in a few drops each of honey and lemon juice. Apply it on your skin and leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it off with cold water. Do this once a week. 6. Coconut Oil Coconut oil is really good for treating dry skin. It has a good amount of fatty acids that make up for any loss of moisture from the skin. • Liberally apply warm coconut oil all over your body before going to sleep. Wash it off in the morning. Do this daily to make your skin soft and smooth. • Apply coconut oil on your dry skin after you take a bath or shower. When the skin is warm and supple from your bath, coconut oil is more readily absorbed. Do this daily.
