I feel jerk in whole body for milliseconds, I consult a doctor he said there is a small nerve blockage in brian can you help it out what is the problem?

Dear jerking of whole body may be due to epileptic fits. You should get eeg & mri brain done. If jerking is associated with loss of awareness and consciousness then you must consult a neurologist immediately. Each such episode is dangerous and it causes harm to brain. All the best.

My brother has mnd, als variant. Is there any cure for that. Or any thing to improve his condition? he is already on bed, can talk but we cannot understand. All activities are through others assistance.

For cerebral palsy no Surgical treatment as such. Sometimes surgeries are done for intractable seizure in cases of cerebral palsy.

I have a friend who is 22 yrs age but has brain developed of 10 years age. He is physically sound but has no social understanding and doesn't have quest for study. The patient has been taken to AIIMS and other special hospital as well but with no good. Please suggest where the should the patient be taken considering age. Thanks for the help.

I am suffering from migraine, wat are the diagnostics and medicines I have to use.

migrane can be managed with lifestyle changes and medications, try muscle relaxation exercises. Relaxation may help ease the pain of a migraine headache. Get enough sleep, but don't oversleep. Get an adequate amount of sleep each night. It's best to go to bed and wake up at regular times, as well. Rest and relax. If possible, rest in a dark, quiet room when you feel a headache coming on. Place an ice pack wrapped in a cloth on the back of your neck and apply gentle pressure to painful areas on your scalp. It is very important keep a headache diary. Continue keeping your headache diary even after you see doctor. It will help you learn more about what triggers your migraines and what treatment is most effective. A dose of riboflavin in appropriate dose as prescribed by me, also may prevent migraines or reduce the frequency of headaches. Coenzyme q10 supplements may decrease the frequency of migraines, magnesium supplements may also be used to treat migraines do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

My 1year old son is cp patient. His development (physical and mental) growth is very slow. He neither sit alone nor his neck stand still. I consult with a paediatric and physiotherapist and they suggest levipil and lioresal syrup and some exercise respectively. But the progress is not so satisfactory. What should I do for his better treatment? Is he be normal in his future life?

Dear friend, unfortunate that your son is a cp patient, but worry, he will definitely improve. Difficult to predict how much he will improve without seeing the patient status. Best thing is that he is only 1 year old. There is ample of time for his development. You started treatment in right time. Continue physiotherapy, provide adequate healthy diet. Learn all type of physical excercises, limb positioning taught by the physiotherapist, practice it daily frequently at home. Improvement will be slow, do not loose your heart, but improvement will definitely occur, how much improvement will occur that depend on your effort and patience.

My grand mother is suffering from Parkinson but the bigger problem is that she gets fainted when she walks or sits. Is there any thing by which she can walk properly or even sit properly. Her age is about 75 years. She has problem of even getting up from bed.

She probably has postural hypotension. Bp has to be checked in lying and standing position. If it drops by more than 20 mm then she will need medications. Alternatively she may be having multisystem atropy or drug induced bp fall on standing.

Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disorder in which the death of brain cells causes memory loss and cognitive decline Alzheimer's is caused by brain cell death. 3 It is a neurodegenerative disease, which means there is progressive brain cell death that happens over a course of time. Risk factors for developing the condition include aging, a family history of Alzheimer's, and carrying certain genes. Symptoms are - Repetitive questions or conversations Misplacing personal belongings Forgetting events or appointments Getting lost on a familiar route. "Poor understanding of safety risks Inability to manage finances Poor decision-making ability inability to plan complex or sequential activities Inability to operate simple implements, or orient clothing to the body. "Out-of-character mood changes, including agitation; less interest, motivation or initiative; apathy; social withdrawal There is no known cure for Alzheimer's disease - the death of brain cells in the dementia cannot be halted or reversed. Hello doctor I have been suffering from stomach nerve weakness. And insomnia from this. I have consulted many doctors they given tablets but no use for me till now. I can not lift weight it causing me breathless problem. The problem is from 4 years. Still I can not find any solution for it. Insomnia is mainly due to anxiety or mental disturbances and you need to practise good sleep hygiene. 1.It is important to maintain the same sleep schedule every single day. This helps to naturalize your body clock and get the best quality sleep. 2.Switch off all mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices. Their artificial glow not only hampers your eyesight, but also prolongs the amount of time your body takes to relax and fall off to sleep. 3.If your back pain causes you to continually wake up in the middle of the night in discomfort, then sleep with a pillow or cushion between your legs so as to straighten out your back and relieve pent up stress. 4.The importance of your pillow can never be stressed upon enough. Your pillow should be not too fat, hard or soft. It should just about support the natural curve of your neck, so that it is perfectly aligned with the centre of your body. Correct sleeping postures are extremely important. 5.Make sure your room is nice and dark so as to stimulate the secretion of a hormone called melatonin that is regulated by light exposure. Darker the room, greater melatonin, making you more sleepy. 6.Those who exercise regularly and well are known to be fitful sleepers. Exercise well before bedtime. If required, do some light yoga or stretching exercises that promote sleep. 7.What you eat throughout the day makes a difference to the quality of your sleep. Stay away from too much caffeine, alcohol, or a heavy meal just before sleeping. They only make you stay awake for longer and may cause heartburn or stomach trouble. I have a obstructive sleep apnea problem and have been using CPAP machine for last 3 years. How can I sleep without CPAP machine and what should I do for the same? I tried to sleep without CPAP machine but I awake frequently at night and feeling sleepy all day.

The best treatment available to manage obstructive sleep apnea (osa) is cpap. You are using it for 3 years now, itself is an indication that you feel benefit by using it, so why do you want to leave it and try other therapies, which are usually not very effective for osa. Not taking treatment for osa for a long time can have detrimental effects on health. I suggest you keep using your cpap machine, and also get evaluated periodically with your sleep specialist for seeing the latest situation of your condition and pressure changes that may be required if any.
