Tongue cleaning is as important as brushing and flossing. Use of a proper tongue scraper every morning will remove tongue plaque and freshen your breath.

Dear Syed Junaid. Thanks for the question. For a smoker, it can be very difficult to temporarily stop tobacco use, even after major surgery in the mouth. Even if one feels the urge for a cigarette, it is important to wait at least 72 hours before smoking after any dental extraction, including the extraction of wisdom teeth. Take care

Your symptoms suggest you are suffering from irreversible pulpitis which is condition in which inflammmation and infection involves the innnermost and deep layer of teeth which is known as pulp which carry blood and nerve supply to the tooth whic cannot be reversed to normal condition. Treatment protocol for you may be rct which is root canal therapy which involves removal of infected nerve and blood supply of teeth and replacing with biocompatible material and providing cap for restoring strength of tooth. So visit your nearest dentist the final treatment protocol can be decided after taking iopa and clinically examining.

Can dental problems cause pain in temples? I have somewhat sharp ache in my right temple a little above temple exactly a few inches above my ear and I am having some dental problems for some time like cavities feelings some sensitivity and sometimes throbbing pain too. So can they be related. Dental problems and temple pain in any way?

A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

Kindly get an xray done. First analyse the depth of cavity. Either a tooth filling or root canal treatment will be advised by dentist.

Hello. I have this long ongoing issue. After every 3-4 hours, a white deposit builds up on sides of my lips. My tongue also gets white throughout the day despite of cleaning it in morning everyday. And the worst part is, my throat stinks. I am saying throat because dentist has already confirmed that my oral/teeth hygiene is excellent. I brush in morning and before going to sleep as well. Please comment on white deposit getting developed on my lips, tongue. Separately, if possible, please provide a solution for my throat bad breath as well. Thank you in advance.

apart from cleaning your teeth you should also clean your lips and tngue every morning ....also make a habit of breathing from your nose, because these white crusts form on the lips due to drying of lips so make a habit of breathing from the nose.... also brush twice daily and also do warm saline rinses everyday
