Pain can be due to many reasons. Get a orthopaedic consultation to find the cause of numbness as it can be pinched nerve and if not diagnosed early can lead to permanent damage. At home try hot or cold for back, gentle strteches

Dear user. Reduce your weight. Correct your sitting posture. Do not lift heavy objects. Take heat fermentation with diclofenac gel. Do back strengthing excercises to reduce pain.

Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Rule out high blood pressure or any other kidney problem do hot fomentation keep a pillow under the legs at night &/when resting. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days do knee exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. You will need other supportive medicines also. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don? t ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Dear as you mentioned that pain increases in the morning. You have work stress you need to check your sitting posture sit in correct way adjust your chair and monitor screen -do hot fermentation 3 times in a day duration-20 min -do stretches 2 min proper along hold and relax do it for two days then I will tell you further program.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

dear lybrate user its l pertinent to mention,without making any realistic diagnostic modalities like mri scan of foot,no one can confirm its absolutely any condition,whatever and who so ever stated.you can provisionally make a gross mapping there too. intially start with some rest and mediccal management as advise by someone,if not helped then proceed with proper investigation like mri -to ruled out any tear or injury to ligament or muscle or any cartilage etc just going with common saying in such chronic cases may debilited your performance

Hi you can start physiotherapy treatment to strengthen the muscles around the knee joint. Meanwhile apply cold pack for 20 minutes thrice a day for 5 days. Do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan wishing you a good health.

Hello lybrate-user drink plenty of water avoid the following: junk food/fast food milk products chocolates ice cream avoid picking or squeezing your pimples, they'll leave behind pigmentation and scaring. For pimples here is your treatment plan: 1. Clindapene gel night time only 2. Benzac gel 2.5% morning only 3. Tab. Doxy 100mg twice daily after food 4. Tab. Rantac 150mg twice daily before food 5. Use acnoff soap / acnil soap to wash your face before applying the gels. Both the gels have to be applied over full face. All medicines for minimum 1 month after the pimples subside (for acne marks) kindly use 1. Ahaglow face wash twice daily 2. Kojivit cream twice daily after using the face wash over those darker areas @night only 3. Photostable lotion full face in the morning after washing with face wash. Take care.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to have a persistent back pain as a health issue. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. My mother who is 51 year old is taking homeopathy medicine for joint's treatment. Actually allopathy doctor have advised my mother for knee operation (for rheumatoid arthritis). But someone in my relationship had told my mother that homeopathy medicine can cure this and will further required no treatment after taking homeopathy medicine. But I doubt is going in my mind that the homeopathy medicine which my mother relative is giving cost around 8000 per months. Is it true or he is making us fool. My mother is taking homeopathy medicine for rheumatoid arthritis from around 9 months. Please tell are really the treatment for this is 8000?

First Rheumatoid arthritis is best treated by allopathy medicines which can cost 500 -1000 rupees per month in most cases. All arthritis is not Rheumatoid arthritis. I am not sure you have given any evidence that your mom has that. Homeopathy medicines are basically sugar pills, if you are taking such costly pills, its your choice, I don't think they will work. If knees are severely damaged no allopathy, ayurvedic or homeopathy medicines will work. Its because if knees are eroded nothing available can regrow a new cartilage. A rheumatologist might be able to give you besta dvice. They are medicine doctors, not surgeons, so they should be able to give you a fair advice on surgery without any vested interests. Remember Sandhi Sudha oil marketed by Govinda. Cost 6000 rupees. All oils have eucalyptus oil or menthol, which gives warmth and you feel nice. You can get eucalyptus oil in 50 rupees also. Iodex which has it comes in 50-100 rupees. People are fooled everyday by false claims.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

My relative has knee surgery before 8 months due to fracture in knee. Now bone is not joint. Due to screw he can walk easily. He can't bend more than 90 degree. Could you suggest some solution or above medicine will work for him also.

If the bone has not united then the screw might fail soon. Any joint injury usually results in some stiffness in that joint. The primary aim should be to get the bone heal first and then concentrate on movements. If you force the knee the move before the bone unites then the metal work will fail.
