Knee pain. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Shoulder. Advice. Regular stretching of shoulder muscles. Warm up and cool down is a must. Hot fomentation.

Hi. Cholesterol had to be checked for complete 12 hours of fasting. If you eat or drink anything (except water) in between then you can get false high cholesterol reports. Please send the level of hdl and ldl mentioned in the report. Take care.

Hello lybrate-user. Commonest type of back pain is mechanical in nature. If you have such a pain then try the following remedies 1. Hot fomentation. Minimum 10 minutes at a stretch. 2. Drink a lot of fluids. 3 litres a day minimum. 3. Posture: correct posture is to be maintained in sitting and standing 4. Exercise: google following exercise a. Extension in lying b. Extension in standing. Hope this helps.

Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight (even while sitting or standing), avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). Always select a chair with proper back support and hand-rest. (Excessive sitting or standing is to be avoided as well don’t carry much weight on shoulders). Apart from these, stress could be the major cause of pains! Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. Management: -Sit straight with a back-rest or back-support. -Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are discouraged. -Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. -Lying on your back with a pillow under your knees would also relieves pain and no pillow under your head. -Some people seem to benefit from the use of ice or heat. Take care, do not use a heating pad on ‘high’ or place ice directly on the skin. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

From last few days I feel pain while I go to potty. I feel pain in my back and when I wash it after completing then I feel something swollen up near the hole from where the waste comes out. I feel pain in washing that area and when I sit then also I feel pain and while walking also. The swollen part fells me round in shape and it pains a lot while doing potty. Though I think blood never came till now from that region. I think it is piles. Please help me to recognise it. I am 17 years old boy.

Hello- tips to protect your spine (get rid of spondylosis) about 90 per cent of the population will suffer from back or neck pain when they reach adulthood. When it comes to the back, prevention is best. 1. Take short frequent breaks away from the computer. 2. Sit up straight on and off every 10-15 minutes, periodically stand up, 3. Walk around and stretch every hour. 4. Do regular stretching and strengthening exercises. 5. Keep the top of the computer screen at eye-level. 6. This way you will be looking down at the screen at a 15- to 20-degree angle which is less strenuous on the neck. 7. Adopt a good sitting posture sit upright and make sure both the feet are on the floor, and the elbows, knees, hips and ankles are at a 90-degree angle. Place a cushion against the back of the chair to support the lower back. When typing for prolonged periods, sit close to the table and rest the elbows on the table to relieve stress from the shoulders and neck. If you still facing problems thn contact your near by ayurvedic doctor, prefer herbal over chemicals, go green.

keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

backache because of poor posture in most of people so,taking medicine will useless until posture is not correct.keep posture straight. avoid more bending work.always do work in straight posture.take calcium and multivitamins diet.you can take homoeopathic medicine for backache these are effective and not like pain killers.these medicine not have any side effect.

Dear . As per most guidelines a fasting blood sugar of less than 140mg/dl is desired. However I would not panic on one reading above 140. What is your latest hba1c levels? is the ankle pain less than 4 weeks? in that case the ankle pain can be due to any of the three conditions- trauma -infectious arthritis or gout.

My father aged 73 years has severe knee pain while walking and accumulation of some kind of fluid above knee. Once the fluid was removed and tested. Fluid report was O. K. Doctors are not advising any knee surgery right now but have told to do physiotherapy and have given some gel vivoran for application. And also told to continue with some exercises. Is it O. Yes dear he can continue with it and you can also do fomentation with it. It will be helping hand. Do dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.

Hi, Hope your father have suffered it since long and the causes might be caused by a sudden injury, an overuse injury, or by an underlying condition, such as arthritis. Treatment will vary depending on the cause. Symptoms of knee injury can include pain, swelling, and stiffness. If you’ve twisted your leg, taken a hard fall, or otherwise strained your knee, first aid at home can be helpful. Remember the acronym “RICE” for treating strains and sprains: •Rest •Ice •Compression •Elevation Get off your feet and apply a cold compress or bag of ice to the knee. Frozen vegetables, such as peas, will also work if you have no ice handy. Wrap your knee with a compression bandage to prevent swelling, but not so tightly it cuts off circulation. While you’re resting, keep your foot elevated. OK.
