Hello, welcome to lybrate from your account, that whenever you go out you feel like that people are watching you, judging you. Till this it seems like that you might have the fear of facing the public, as if they would judge you. This can account for social phobia. However for the next part of your complain, that once you come back at home, you still feel afraid of them, keep thinking that they might be commenting behind your back on you. This doesn't happen in social phobia. These kind of symptoms and the symptoms of social phobia can be seen in the beginning or florid psychosis as well. Both of the conditions have different treatments as well. Hence to reach a definite conclusion regarding your diagnosis, a detailed assessment by an expert psychiatrist is required who will further decide the treatment as well for your condition. Both of these conditions if left untreated can led to severe morbidity and mortality. If you feel like having a detailed conversation regarding your problem in private you can consult me

I can't sleep properly at night. I knew I have a lot of stress due to work. What should I do?
Hello, welcome to lybrate. a sound sleep leads to a sound mind, its good to see that you want to consult about your sleep issues, as most of the people just neglect it. Healthy sleep is considered to be a 6-8 hour sleep at night without frequent awakenings at night. Sleep disturbances can be caused by multiple factors such as stress; emotional disturbances; poor general condition; substance use such as smoke, alcohol; medications for some other conditions; work shifts etc. Hence to find out the exact cause and nature of sleep disturbance a detailed assessment is required. Sleep disturbances can be managed by simple measures by adopting sleep hygiene to use of sedative-hypnotic agents such as benzodiazepines, but the mode of intervention will depend on the severity and cause. Hence if you want to seek a detailed assessment and management of your sleep problem, do consult me.

My brother is 20 years old and he is not behaving normally since last 5 months. He used to be good in studies but he didnt write anything in answer sheet in recent exams of 2nd semester, Bachelors. Moreover, he refused to join college recently. He gets angry for very little things. He looses self-control and find himself in brevity of self-confidence. He gets uncomfortable in talking to outsiders. He sleeps very late and could not sleep easily at night. These are the symptoms which my family members addressed in last two months when he came home from college and he does not speak a word of joining college anytime soon. Suggestions are highly appreciable. If there is a need to see a psychologist please suggest whom should we refer to. Many thanks!

Hello, welcome to lybrate. from the above account I could summarise that your brother is having complaints of reduced interaction, reduced interest in his studies, anger outbursts, reduced self confidence, reduced sleep as well, since last 5 months. These symptoms can be caused by an underlying depressive episode/ psychotic episode/ adjustment issues. Hence to reach a conclusive diagnosis a detailed evaluation is required by a psychiatrist. Only after than further management plan can be formulated. Since he is too young, it is important to consult as early as possible, because if delayed the chances of early recovery would reduce. Also the delay may increase the severity of illness and can further deteriorate his functional abilities. If you want to consult further in details and want to seek treatment as well, you can reach me in private.

Hello, welcome to lybrate sorry to hear about the tragic incident that happened to your cousin. Such traumatic life events are a source of immense stress. Such stressful conditions can trigger the development of an abnormal personality, an underlying mental illness, which might remain hidden till a new triggering factor is encountered in life. Also such life events makes an individual more vulnerable for stressful situation in future, reduces stress coping abilities and can lead to maladaptive changes in ones behaviour. As you told that since last 5-6 month he had started behaving abnormally, with increased aggression. This might be triggered by some other incident which need to be explored. Also it can be the beginning of an underlying mental illness. Hence before going for managing these symptoms, a thorough assessment is necessary in order to understand his emotional and psychological state. This will help in understanding him better, & would help in making a better management plan for his issues. If you consider that you need detailed evaluation for your cousin, and want to seek an expert advice pertaining to his problems, you can a private session with me.

Hello, as per your complaints- weakness, easy fatiguability, low energy levels, hair loss, low stamina- it seems like you have some disturbance. It can be caused by both psychological causes such as underlying affective disorder in the form of depression; as well as an underlying endocrine dysfunction such as hypothyroidism, hypogonadism, hypopituitarism can also cause similar symptoms. It is also possible that you might have both the causes concurrently. Hence to find the cause, a detailed assessment is required which would involve a detailed discussion about your life style, work, affective state, family history, regarding any organic illness.
