  4. Sleep which is disjointed or inadequate should be replaced by forming habits which are favourable in giving a person sound and fulfilling sleep. The beneficial effects will show in about a few weeks.
  5. When it comes to health, a lot of issues a person faces in general are due to consuming the wrong kinds of foods. It should not come as a surprise at all that this is also the case when it comes to the problem of arthritis. As a result, a person who is arthritic should stay away from foods which are fried, hot and spicy, as such foods have a great ability to cause trouble.

Your wedding day is one of, if not the most special day in your life as you enter a new phase with your partner. One of the most important facets of looking your best during your wedding is to lose weight. Here are some points to remember and abide by when you are trying to lose weight-

  1. Keep the target of losing weight a priority – You will have to ensure that exercising, following a strict diet and all the regimens are strictly adhered to in order to achieve success on this front. This should be started at least a few months before the wedding day so that results are visible on the day itself.

  2. Reduce alcohol intake – Alcohol intake should be reduced as much as possible; bear in mind that it is even more difficult to achieve this as the day comes nearer. Numerous parties and gathering will have an offering of alcohol but it is best if you either abstain from it or severely limit your intake. Even small portions but regular consumption will dampen your efforts to lose weight.

  3. Must have breakfast – Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it is important that you have a healthy and satisfying breakfast to give you energy all day long. If you skip on breakfast, there is a possibility of overcompensating for it during other meals which will slow down weight loss or will contribute to weight gain.

  4. Limit your food intake in various parties – Much before the marriage, you will have to attend as well as host many parties such as showers, bachelor parties, and many others. Foods served in these parties, in most cases, will be very fattening. Thus limit your food intake at various parties or opt for healthy options when you have control over the kind of food to be served.

  5. Try seeking help and support – It is important to have proper mental support when trying to lose weight. There may be enablers in your home who might try to derail you from your goals unknowingly, and it is thus important to have proper support that will help you stay on the path. You could even seek professional support to help achieve your goals.

  6. Reduce Stress Stress and panic are two of the major contributors to binge eating which contribute to weight gain and thus may slow down or halt your weight loss progress. Mediate daily to reduce and keep stress levels in check.

  7. Don’t Starve – This is a mistake many people make by not eating and over-exercising while trying to lose weight. It is quite evident that losing fat is not an easy task. If it were, people wouldn’t have spent on a million different diet plans and products. However, even the smallest weight loss tricks or changes in food habits can make a huge difference as far as dietary or weight loss plans are concerned. Given below 9 simple tricks that can be easily incorporated so that you can lose more fat.

  1. Modify your crockery: Fooling yourself with fancy plates and glasses as well as other tableside items can go a long way in helping you reduce your body fat. Small modifications in dinnerware is capable of tricking you into eating lesser amounts than usual. Using smaller plates makes the portions of food seem larger. Similarly, thinner and taller glasses make the beverages look bigger. Colours of the plates have a role to play too. Plates should be of such colour that it is in contrast to the foods normally consumed.
  2. Choice of Alcoholic Beverages: Alcohol consumption leads to an increased weight or calorie count. Hence, the choice of alcohol must be done with respect to the number of calories it adds.

To loose belly fat, thigh fat you have to do rigorous exercise like crunches, stretching. Running and you have to follow healthy diet pattern too for weight loss. Diabetes and Heart Health - How They are Related?

Why should people with diabetes be extra careful of their Heart Health? What’s the connection? Diabetes is considered as one of the major controllable risk factors for cardiovascular disease. 

A Study conducted shows that around 65% of diabetic patients die from heart disease or stroke. The connection between diabetes and heart disease starts with high blood sugar levels. With continued high blood sugar levels i.e. high glucose in the bloodstream, the arteries gets damaged and become hard and stiff. Fatty material that builds up on the inside of these blood vessels can eventually block blood flow to the heart or brain, leading to a possible heart attack or stroke.

People with the below listed condition and lifestyle are at increased risk for developing cardiovascular disease (CVD)

  1. High blood pressure(hypertension)
  2. Abnormal cholesterol
  3. Obesity
  4. Lack of physical activity
  5. Poorly controlled blood sugars(too high) or out of normal range

What is a Diabetes?
It's is a disorder in which your body doesn’t produce insulin in the required quantity because of too much sugar in the blood or high blood glucose. 

Symptoms
Frequent urination, Intense thirst and hunger, Weight gain, unusual weight loss, fatigue, cuts and bruises that do not heal, male sexual dysfunction, vaginal Infection in females, numbness, tingling in hands and feet. 

Connection with Heart related diseases i.e. What can diabetes do to the person's healthy heart?

  1. A diabetic who has had a previous heart attack has a much greater risk of having another.
  2. Diabetics develop cardiovascular disease at a much earlier age than others.
  3. Diabetics who have suffered a heart attack are more apt to die as a result. 

Prevention: More of a lifestyle change followed by medication under supervision of a doctor and a nutritionist is possible. The best way to prevent the development of cardiovascular disease is to prevent diabetes itself. General nutrition recommendations:

  1. Control your portion size
  2. Limit your consumption of saturated and transfats and cholesterol
  3. Setting reasonable goals for your total amount of carbohydrates.

There is no certain way to avoid heart disease and circulation problems, but there are lot of things to do to cut your risk.

  1. You smoke? Put a full stop.
  2. Do weight management and lose some extra pounds.
  3. Check your sugar levels regularly and keep your blood pressure in the proper range.

You need to reduce your calorie intake. Restrict rice, potato, sweets, junk foods in your meals. Have a healthy breakfast and have light & early dinners. Have a protein & fiber -rich diet with lots of fruits, salads & vegetables in your daily meals. Drink at least 3 lts water daily. Exercise / brisk walk for at least 30 minutes daily is a must.

You need to increase your calorie intake by increasing your carbohydrates & protein intake. You can have parathas, cheese sandwiches in your breakfast. Increase 1 chapati more in your lunch & dinner. Add rice in your lunch. Include vegetables, dal, salad ,curd in your daily meals. You can have milkshakes, cookies fruits in between your meals. Add sweet dish. Eat every 2-3 hours.

If your menstrual cycle is short even 5th day of period you cannot exclude the possibility of conception ,but with breast pain alone you cannot conclude that you are pregnant ,just do a serum beta hcg test around 4 th week of your cycle and confirm.

Medications & supplements for weight gain have adverse health effects. Try diet & activity changes instead. Have buffalo or cow milk. (Hot/ cold) with milk powder. For weight gain in a healthy way, 1. Have 3 litres water daily. 2. Have frequent meals comprising foods high in nutrient & energy density but low in volume. Ex: fruit & almonds milkshake, cheese potato chicken sandwich, egg curry, rice/ atta maida roti with ghee, til chikki, dry fruits, premix, malt, soybean cutlets, fish fingers, stuffed parathas, banana, dates, mango. 3. Avoid water with or just before meals 4. Have 15 mins light walk before main meals to enhance appetite. Consider getting a thyroid test done to rule out hyperthyroidism. 5. Practice 30 mins strength exercises daily for weight gain.
