The diagnosis of the issue can be done by a general physician or psychiatrist who will carry out a variety of detailed tests for an evaluation of the problem, its symptoms and the causes. Lab tests based on blood and urine samples will also be carried out. The DSM 5 test may also be used to find out the mental and emotional causes for the addiction.
