Hi, My wife is 35 years old. Her Mammogram report says BIRADS 2 for one side and 2/3 for another side. Did FNAC, report is atypical cells found, advice for frozen or excision biopsy for definitive opinion. Please advise. (20 years back she operated one lump in breast it was benign)

MBBS, MS General Surgery , Associate Fellow , Association of Surgeons of India (ASI)
General Surgeon, Bardhaman
Biopsy is indicated if BIRADS score is 4 and above, but as the FNAC is showing atypical cells, frozen sections must be done. Don't worry, Hope she will get well soon.

1. Is Water Lumps in Breast required urgent operation? 2. How much days Rest is required? 3.Is it Big operation or normal? 4. Can it be cure through Medicine (Tablets & Capsule or any other) or Operation is must?

Fellowship in Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons, Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery, M.S. - Master of Surgery, MBBS

Any lump in the breast should be thoroughly investigated and treated, preferably by surgery. Histopathology (biopsy) to be done of the excised lump to rule out malignancy.

I want to know that blood cancer treatment/medicine is found or not? because nowadays in social networking sites a message is forwarding that in pune" blood cancer" medicine found.

M.CH - Surgical Oncology, MBBS
Oncologist, Visakhapatnam
Dear there is a medicine for a type of blood cancer known as chronic myeloid leukemia (cml). The name of the drug is imatinib mesylate (not imatenef as seen in those messages). It has improved the chance of survival for this group of patients by a big margin compared to previous treatments. Regards

My mother had breast cancer and doctor's says she is in advance stage as per reports its spread in lungs and liver. But after 3 oral chemotherapy she is good recovery and able for any treatment. My question is which is best treatment in this stage?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
It is a metastatic breast cancer. If she is er/pr positive then hormonal therapy is the best treatment. She may respond well. If still residual then chemotherapy can be tried.
