Hello this is lybrate-user. alwin christopher, practising geriatrician keeping her borderline gfr in mind, the drugs she is taking it looks safe pp sugars are high - better to take appropiate dose of regular insulin (actrapid post meal)

My mother is diabetic and her gfr is around 45 ml/min. She's taking glipizide 10 mg od and metformin 500 + teneligliptin 20 mg od for diabetes. But blood sugar is not controlled properly (fasting ranges from 100-150 and pp sugar ranges from 200-300). Please suggest anti diabetic treatment with at least some explanation.

I am hasib 48 years old, I am diagnosed blood sugar in 2007, earlier it was under control but now it was not controlled by 2 years. I am taking geminor 2 twice a day before half an hour of lunch and dinner. I feel very lethargic, tired, sleepy, confused. Kindly advised. Thank you.

Hello sir on 18th may I checked my hb1ac it was 6.7,fbs 100 n ppbs 165. Doctor advised glycomet sr 500 once but when I checked at 30 th may on glucometer fbs was 149 n ppbs 195. Doctor advised janumet50/500 at night means twice tablet daily. Is it high dose or correct. Or else sugar ll be low .doctor is saying fasting is not in control its called dawn phenomenon. Shal I take only one tablet janumet 50/500 in morning.

Hello lybrate-user question need few more details are you still continuing steroids whats the last checked sugar values, if not done, do a fasting and 2 hours post breakfast sugars and respond back medicines are appropriate.

I recovered from covid 20 days back. Took steroids. Developed type 2 diabetes with hba1c as 8.7 %.taking glycomet sr 500 twice daily. Post covid I am advised to take ecosprin av 75/10 daily for 30 days. My lipid profile- triglycerides 163, ldl cholesterol 142, cholesterol total 206, vldl 32.60, non hdl cholesterol 165.80. Pls advise medication is correct or not?
