Dermal fillers anti ageing treatment by Dr. Jangid

Common questions concerning #dermalfillers injections (#juv eacute;derm ultra and #restylane)
Common questions and answers regarding #antiageing treatment

    What are #dermalfillers?

#dermalfillers are gel substances which are used in aesthetics to contour, add volume or fill the areas where wrinkles and folds have appeared due to ageing or scarring. Natural hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body in one or two days so is constantly replaced. As we age this replacement mechanism diminishes so the moisturising and plumping effects of hyaluronic acid decrease. Hyaluronic acid is used for aesthetic treatments, and has also been used for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as eye surgery.

    How do they work?

Hyaluronic acid is injected in the deeper skin, to fill the defects. The ha will attract water to it further increase volume to the area leading to fresh, revitalized skin.

What areas can be treated with dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips, shape facial contours and revitalise the skin. The most common areas treated are:

The nose to mouth lines (nasolabial fold)
Lines around the mouth (perioral lines and oral commissures)
Natural lip enhancement and definition of the border.
    Natural cheek augmentation.
Also can be used for replacing soft tissue volume loss and scar corrections.

What should I do after treatment?

After treatment, you can have some local swelling and bruising that can be managed by cold compressions. Avoid sun exposure and exercise.

    When will I see results?

You will see results instantly; however there may be slight swelling too due to the slight tissue trauma.

Will I need to take time off work?
Absolutely not! you can have an appointment in your lunch hour then get right back to your normal routine.

How long willthe effectslast? dermal fillers are long-lasting but not permanent, they usually last between 6-8 months but this can vary for different individuals.

    Will it hurt?

Dermal fillers can be slightly uncomfortable depending on the depth on injection needed. However during the preparation of your skin an anesthetic cream will be applied to the area to aid your comfort, plus most of the dermal fillers we use have local anesthetic mixed in with them too to further minimize any discomfort.

How long will it take? after your consultation the treatment can take up to 40 minutes, this includes time for the numbing cream to activate.

What are the side effects? short term side effects can include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site, these can be relieved with a cold compress and paracetamol. Lips can be particularly sensitive and swelling may last for a few days. There is no evidence to date of any long-term safety concerns associated with the treatment, as the body naturally metabolizes the product over time.

    Are dermal fillers safe?

There are many dermal fillers on the market. These include restylane, juvederm and merz products. These are the most scientifically documented ha based dermal fillers in the world with comprehensive studies that support their safety and efficacy.

Is there anything I need to know before I have the treatment?
We advise you to avoid using aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs a couple of days before your treatment (unless they are taken for chronic medical conditions). Avoiding these medications will reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the point of injection.

Do I need to take a skin test?
No skin test is required as hyaluronic acid dermal fillers do not contain any animal-derived ingredients.

Can dermal fillers be used if I have had laser treatment or a chemical peel?
If you have recently had a laser or chemical peel treatment, it is recommended you wait until the area is totally healed and the skin is back to its normal condition. This is something that you can discuss in the consultation with our practitioner.

When will I need another injection?
Many patients like to book touch-up injections as well as repeat injections to maintain the effects of treatment.

    What is #chemicalpeel?

A mild #organicacid is applied to the skin, causing it to shed the first several layers of cells.

    How is the procedure done?

The skin is first cooled down with icepacks. The solution is swabbed on using cotton balls and finally the skin is iced again.

    What are the side effects?

Flaking, peeling and redness are normal. Moderate discomfort (burning sensation) is felt during the treatment.

    How long does it last?

This treatment generally lasts 6 months but may vary depending on individual factors. Patients generally need to repeat every month for few months then once on 3 months.

    Does the treatment hurt?

Immediately after the solution is applied the skin will fell very hot. This feeling lasts ~20 minutes. It will feel like a sunburn for a day or so. Skin will also feel tight.

How much down time is there after treatment?

The skin will shed and peel over the next 4-7 days and will have the look of dry skin.

What is the after-care following treatment?

Mild cleanser with warm tap water.

May I put makeup over treated area? no cosmetics should be applied for one week after treatment.

How long does the procedure take?

15 minutes to half an hour

There are a variety of aspects of skin care that have to do with elements and habits that are outside the products and treatments one may use in order to get youthful looking skin and retain its natural glow. Here is a list of five mistakes that may be aging your face despite the best efforts in terms of skin care. Banish these habits today to ensure that you do not end up with wrinkles and fine lines prematurely.

    - make up: while there is nothing wrong with using make up on a regular basis, the cardinal sin that many of us commit includes not cleaning the make up properly before we hit the bed. Many of us are so tired by the end of the day that we end up sleeping with our mascara and lipstick still on. The ingredients of such products can greatly alter the quality of your skin if left on for too long. You will need to allow your skin to breathe without any layers of make up so that your dead cells can get replenished and the elasticity of the skin is retained.

    - sun exposure: prolonged sun exposure without proper protection like a proper sun screen can lead to long term damage and skin diseases too. Not only should we remain in the shade with a large floppy hat whenever we are out in the sun, but we should also do a little research and get the best spf possible that will also suit our skin. Also, we should avoid staying the sun for too many hours in a row.

    - hydration: many of us make the mistake of having sugary drinks and other beverages when the skin actually needs plenty of water for proper hydration. The skin tends to get dehydrated quickly because of the constant exposure to the world outside and all its micro particles that we catch from pollution and general dirt and grime. Therefore, it is important to replenish the skin with the clear goodness of natural water rather than drinking too many sugary beverages that can harm the collagen and break it down in the long run.

    - sleep: late nights at work or play can both be extremely detrimental for the skin as the skin needs some rest in order to get the regeneration process going in a smooth manner. Tired looking skin with dark circles can give way to crow's feet and fine lines that look very unbecoming on a young person.

    - too many products: ensure that you use only a few products for a prolonged period, rather than using too many products and changing them often. This will keep the skin looking fresh and young.

Vitamin c provides potent antioxidant protection, shielding skin from damaging free radicals those pesky rogue molecules that promote premature aging. The most abundant forms of free-radical damage are environmental factors we can't escape think sun damage, pollution and oxygen that assault skin on a daily basis, but that's where topical vitamin c can help.

Vitamin c can provide a range of benefits that keep your skin younger-looking, longer!

It reduces the appearance of pigmented spots and other types of sun damage
It helps boost healthy collagen production
It reduces inflammation and irritation, both of which cause a cascade of damage
It fade post-breakout red marks by improving skin's natural healing response
Vitamin c increases the effectiveness of your sunscreens and boosts your skins defense against uv exposure.

    What is vitamin c

Vitamin c is chemically ascorbic acid also known as l-ascorbic acid has the most research of any form of vitamin c when it comes to benefits for skin. For that reason, ascorbic acid is the most form of vitamin c used in well formulated skincare products. When properly formulated, it helps create younger, firmer skin while fading signs of sun damage and post-acne marks.

Ascorbic acid is also a powerhouse when mixed with other antioxidants, or when used alone in higher concentrations, such as 15% or 20% or greater, amounts that can be great for treating extra-stubborn concerns.

Recommended treatments:add a few drops of vitamin c, 15-20% ascorbic acid + peptide treatment to your favorite serum or moisturizer for dramatically brighter, firmer and healthier skin.

Want to target a particularly stubborn brown spot, red mark or wrinkle? dab a small amount of the vitamin c, a 20% ascorbic acid concentrate, to the bothersome area and watch them beat a hasty retreat.

Oxygen provides a host of benefits to the skin; it brightens, speeds up healing, boosts circulation, reduces stress, and helps eliminate toxins. The treatment is designed for all skin types so everyone can reap the benefits, even pregnant ladies like me. The O2Lift also infuses peptides and high concentrations of enzymatic botanicals into the skin. It leaves you with luminous, refreshed and rejuvenated skin.

The facial itself takes 45 minutes:

Step 1: A Gel to Milk Cleanser is massaged into my skin. It gently cleans the skin, no stinging or drying sensation, it is milky soft. The therapist takes her time working the product in and then removed the cleanser using a warm cloth/sponge

Step 2: An Enzymatic FacialPeel is applied. The gel smell is lovely and is also well massaged into the skin for a few minutes before it liquefied.

Step 3: An Oxygenation Masque is then applied. This is where the magic happens. The product goes on like a gel and then starts to foam. It is the weirdest feeling - like fizz, actually effervescent might be a more appropriate word. This is how it delivers the oxygen into the skin.

Step 4: A StemCell Enhancer is then massaged onto the face and neck. This is a serum loaded with high doses of stem cells, vitamin C and botanicals which penetrate deep into the skin.

Step 5: Prevention+Tinted moisturizer is then applied to the skin.

How to green your beauty routine
    • Simplify
Don't be fooled by cosmetic advertising: Myriad creams, lotions, and potions at the drugstore and cosmetics counter make promises they could never deliver on. My recommendation is to keep it simple: Take an advice with good dermatologist. All you need is a basic cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and broad-spectrum sunscreen to keep your skin in tip-top shape. Everything else is just dressing.
    • Make Sure "Natural" Is Really Natural
Toxic synthetic chemicals are the biggest issue in the beauty industry today, so it pays to hone a keen eye when it comes to examining product labels.
    • Say No to Fragrance
A loophole in federal law doesn't require companies to declare any of the dozens of toxic chemicals that a single product's fragrance mixture could contain. Artificial fragrances, which frequently contain phthalates, can also trigger allergic reactions and other health problems..
    • Choose Nontoxic, Recyclable Packaging
You can never go wrong with glass because it's recyclable and has no danger of leaching toxins into the product contained within. As far as plastics go, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), also known by the recycling code #1, and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), #2, are most frequently accepted by municipal curbside recycling programs and are considered safe; polycarbonate (#7), may leach the endocrine disruptor bisphenol-A, or BPA. Polypropylene (#5), another food-safe plastic, is also a good alternative, though less easily recycled.
    • Choose Organic Beauty and Grooming Products
Organic ingredients are those grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, which is healthier for the planet and healthier for our bodies. Better yet are botanicals grown using biodynamic farming methods, which go beyond organic by emphasizing an even more holistic relationship between the soil, plants, and animals.
    • Sidestep the Petrochemicals Used to make emollients for face cream or found in the form of coal tar for scalp-treatment shampoos, petroleum byproducts can be contaminated by cancer-containing impurities. A nonrenewable and environmentally unfriendly resource, petroleum barely belong in your car, let alone on your skin. Identify it on labels as petrolatum, mineral oil, and paraffin.
    • Make Your Own Green Skin Care Treatments
The best way to know exactly what goes into your skincare products? Make your own. Not only will you save money and packaging, but you'll also get the satisfaction that no preservatives or toxic chemicals were used in the process.
    • Stay Beautiful Inside and Out by Being Healthy
Diet and exercise should play vital roles in your skincare regimen, as well. Besides working up a good sweat to keep nutrient-carrying blood circulating throughout your body, be sure to feed yourself plenty of protein, healthy fats (such as omega-3 fish oils or flaxseed oils), complex carbohydrates, and fruit.
