Hypothyroidism is a cause of infertility. It is better to get your thyroid corrected before conceiving as it causes defects in the baby.

Wear a face mask when going outdoors. Avoid all allergens and irritants. Get a spirometry done and consult a pulmonologist with the reports. Adherence to the correct dosage of foracort is recommended over time to get relief. Wish you good health.

My wife has wet white cough for 2 months. She takes TB medicine from 2 months but cough not cured.

MD (Physician), MD (Pulmonology)
Pulmonologist, Bareilly
Dear Lybrateuser, Pulmonary Tuberculosis is a long treatment, so kindly be patient. Reduction of Cough & Sputum quantity and frequency will depend on many factors, but if there is no improvement after 2 months, then you may need a second opinion from a Pulmonologist.

I'm 27 years old. I was using saheli but then suddenly I stopped using it as someone said that infertility may occur in future and may never conceive. Is it true? Or the pill is safe? Can I start taking it again?

Yes it's safe. In fact every women who does not desire to have a pregnancy should take oral contraception like saheli from 5th day of menstrual cycle to 21 days till months/years she want to postpone pregnancy, instead of facing unwanted pregnancy and unwanted abortion and unwanted damage to uterus and body and guilt of killing our own child. It's safe to use it and you will concive once you will stop taking it. It never leads to infertility in future.

Dear Lybrateuser, your chest xray suggests infection. Kindly consult a Pulmonologist and get your Sputum examination. Wishing you good health.

Hi, If I go for ivf for my first baby can I still try for natural conception for the second one? Also, what are the chances of having twins through ivf if my amh is 8.22, lh 8.8, fsh 6.07, prl 24.32?

If your tubes are healthy and husband's sperms good, you can still conceive naturally even after IVF. The chances of twins with IVF depends not on your reports but on the number of embryos transferred. We recommend transferring no more than 2 embryos in each attempt. With 1-2 embryos being transferred, approx 75% of pregnancies turn out to be singleton and approx 25% twins.

We lost our 8 day old son in February 2018. I want to keep her healthy and make sure she is ready to have another baby. She had c section. What things we should do or keep in mind?

For stamina n energy, she should have a wholesome diet with enough proteins (eggs, fish, chicken, milk & its products, nuts -seeds etc) and good quality fats (rich in MUFA-PUFA) and moderate carbohydrate intake with focus on high fibre. She should hydrate herself properly and include enough fresh fruits and vegetables. Ask her not to have long gaps between meals and do not skip meals at all. Advise to have a good breakfast before she leaves for work with source of protein in it. Workout for 45 mins daily be it brisk walk, any sport, swimming, etc .Some exercise while sitting at the desk would be useful too. For antioxidants have variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and the right cooking oil, fish, nuts and oilseeds for omega 3 fatty acids. Both these (antioxdants and omega 3 fatty acids) will help control aging and take care of heart health and reproductive health. Contact us directly for a comprehensive and tailored diet plan to meet all your needs.
