Hi lybrate-user, Actual Vitamin B12 levels can be up to 900 pg/ml. And high levels of this nutrient is not common. But high levels can be due to various reasons and can indicate some serious illness like disease in the liver, kidney or blood. It is better to consult a general physician at first and then proceed as per his instructions since the underlying reasons differ. Always take a second opinion before consulting any specialist. Hope this helps. Wishing you and your mother a very good health.

Hi, My baby is 54 days old. So I have doubt that whether I can give biscuit to her. Please advice what should we do?
Hello lybrate-user, strictly no biscuits for your baby or anything else, not even water for 6 months. It should be exclusive breastmilk. This will increase your baby's immunity, cognitive abilities and much more. Hope this helps. Wishing good health for your baby.

How much iron supplement needed and for how long. As im facing iron deficiency. 45 mg/dl. Where minimum is 70 mg/dl. ...
Hi lybrate-user, You can continue till the doctor has prescribed. To improve iron naturally, take foods rich in iron like rice flakes, soya bean, bajra, cow pea, greens, cauliflower leaves, dried sundakkai, mango powder, turmeric, cumin, dried dates etc. And non veg foods like chicken liver, red meat, etc. If you are a non vegetarian. Iron tablets taken for a long duration may cause constipation, dark colored stools, nausea, head ache etc. It is always better to manage it with good foods. Wishing you good health. Hope this helps.

I am suffering from mouth ulcer. How can I get rid of them and why are they coming? They give a lot of pain as I cannot eat, drink and even talk. Help me to get rid of them.

HI lybrate-user, Mouth can be caused due to vitamin B 12 deficiency, hormonal imbalances, stress, certain medications, over heat in the body etc. It is important to maintain good oral hygiene, avoid spicy and acidic foods like citrus fruits etc. Drink more water, take antibiotics under doctors prescription, or OTC ointments etc. You can also apply butter and take vitamins rich fruits vegetable and nuts. For few days try to eat bland and liquid foods which can help to an extent. It is better to consult a doctor. Wishing you good health. Hope this helps.

Hi lybrate-user, Sometimes you tend to gain weight when you don't take enough food required for your body. It is very important to eat right based on body's requirement. Also check for any medical conditions like hypothyroid etc. You should concentrate more on improving your BMR, keeping an eye on your stress levels. Try keeping yourself active throughout the day. Also check whether you were under any medications or steroids previously.

I am Fat and Healthy. Should I Lose Weight?

I am Fat and Healthy. Should I Lose Weight?

A simple answer is a big yes.

  • You can be fat and comfortable and healthy and flexible and everything now but those extra fleshes don't help you in a long run. This is called'metabolic healthy obesity' and this may not be permanent.
  • As you age, your metabolism drops down faster and that is when you encounter more problems physically and mentally. Breathlessness, sleep apnea, body ache, metabolic syndrome, difficulty in getting pregnant, heart disease, increased blood pressure, knee pain, heel pain, lower immunity, itching, poor blood circulation, body odour, digestive problems, some kind of cancers, profuse sweating, depression and so many other troubles accompany weight gain over a period of time.
  • Higher bmi is not always acceptable. Even if you feel comfortable in your own body, it is very important to eat right, stay physically active and follow a healthy lifestyle.
  • A vehicle with less weight gives more mileage. Agree?

Respected drs, kindly enlighten when to take papaya, banana and seasonal fruits before or or half hour gap with food, morn, noon and night or best time, now, I am taking before tiffen/lunch am I ok? Thanks in advance.

Respected drs, kindly enlighten when to take papaya, banana and seasonal fruits before or or half hour gap with food,...
Hello lybrate-user, you can take your fruits between breakfast and lunch i.e. Mid morning (around 11ish) or in the evenings. It is better to avoid eating fruits along with your regular meals. Also never replace your meals with fruits. Even if you are a diabetic, you can consume any fruits but the quantity matters. You should know to adjust your portion size accordingly. Wash fruits thoroughly before consuming. Hope this helps.
