I m 28 years old male. My weight is 54 kgs. My height is 5.5 ft. I am having severe pain in hip joint since more than one year. And sometimes this pain even comes to my foot and then it is impossible to walk even a step. Kindly suggest the solution for the same.

If the pain is in the back of the hip the problem is likely to be a disc issue. If the pain is in the front of the hip, that is in the groin region it could be a of the hip joint. Get xrays done for the hip joint and lumbar spine and mail them to me in a private message.

I am suffering from knee pain, since 4 days, how can I get relief?

PGDEMS, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda,
I am suffering from knee pain, since 4 days, how can I get relief?
The location of the knee pain can vary depending on which structure is involved. With infection, the whole knee might be swollen and painful, while a torn meniscus or fracture of a bone gives symptoms only in one specific location. The severity of the pain can vary, from a minor ache to a severe and disabling pain. Some of the other findings that accompany knee pain are difficulty walking due to instability of the knee, limping due to discomfort, locking of the knee (unable to bend the knee) so I would like to suggest you to please consult a doctor personally, & get the pain diagnosed to help you to get proper treatment. There is a specific line of treatment in ayurvedic panchakarma & these are practically effective. We have successfully treated many cases of joint pain with the holistic approach of ayurveda & panchakarma. For more details you can consult us.

I have pain in my heel. Since 1 month. Why?

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS
Orthopedist,
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Although there can be many causes for heel pain like spurs, fascial inflammation, infection, trauma etc but normally plantar fascitis is the most common cause especially if there is no history of any injury or any s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness etc. This kind of pain is usually due to inflammation of your heel fascia. It is chronic pain which get aggravated especially when you walk more and is better with rest. Treatment modalities are aimed at relieving inflammation of the fascia, like ice packs, physical therapy, footwear modification and anti-inflammatory therapy. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

I am 25 years old I have back pain last 1 week please tell me any advise.

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS
Orthopedist,
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned backache as your problem. If you have only localized backache with no other associated symptoms like radiating leg pain, numbness, paresthesias etc, and no systemic symptoms like fever, loss of appetite, loss of weight etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or even tab paracetamol which suits you - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied 3-4 times in a day - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc if you do not improve in 2-3 weeks with this conservative management, we will need to evaluate you further in form of dynamic x rays to look for any instability as a cause for pain and some blood investigations to rule out any deficiencies etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards

Hello, after illness, you should just relax about how you look. To gain weight, first ask your doctor if you still need to avoid any foods. Take full fat milk, eat foods high in calories, ghee, butter, banana shake, cheese crackers, parathas, ice creams, rice, etc. Eat more, take frequent meals to increase your appetite. Watch pictures of food to feel hungry. You will gain weight, after recovering and gaining some kilos, you can do some weight lifting.

You might be suffering from shin splints. After jogging or running (specially for beginners) the muscles and flesh along the edge of the shin bone become inflamed, so it hurts to walk, run, or jump. Jogging on hard surfaces can bring this on. You are more likely to get shin splints if you have flat feet or your feet turn outward. Some tips to deal with this condition : 1.Rest your legs, do not jog when in pain. 2. Ice pack application. 3. Anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen. 4. Stretching and warm up to be done before jogging or running. 5. Gradual and step wise increase in physical activity. If problem persists consult again.
