How many times has it been measured? Measure BP only once every fortnight after resting for ten minutes and do this for 3-6 months. Since you are very big sized person, maybe up to 145 is ok, but if it stays above 145 you should consider medicine. Weight lifting is allowed, but better to do light aerobics like walking, table tennis, badminton, cycling etc. And reduce sugar jaggery alcohol tobacco and starchy foods in diet. Balanced diet is healthier than modern restricted diet.

Hello, lybrate -user once you have an accurate headache diagnosis and have been assured that your pain is not related to any other serious condition, your headache treatment can be improved by the addition of alternative therapies. Massage, chiropractic, physical therapy, and the application of hot and cold compresses are alternative medical treatments used to relieve chronic headaches. Although these therapies are difficult to study in clinical trials, they have been effective for some patients. Massage therapy may be particularly helpful for relieving stress and muscle tension-related headaches. Thank you

Sir. I am a 32 years old male. I have been suffering from white coat hypertension what should I do?
White coat hypertension is due to anxiety. It occurs when any one goes to measure his bp and bp rises only because of tension by seeing doctors, hospital etc. Nothing to do just relax your self. Do meditation daily.

MBBS, MS - Orthopaedics

Swelling legs could be due to ill managed hypertension. Kindly show me rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days bio d3 max 1tab od x10 do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Ertension. Anyway.

Dear Lybrate user...Propranolol is a beta blocker and is commonly used for migraine prophylaxis. Its recommended dose for migraine prophylaxis can be as high as 120 to 160 mg per day. Its normal action on heart is to decrease the heart rate, but at a dose of 80 mg it is less likely to cause a significant damage. Rest differs from patient to patient and the clinical decision has to be individualized. Take care

High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. GARLIC,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines . Cap. Ecosprin gold-10 at night daily.
