It true that sleeping tablets are habit forming and one should avoid using then as far as possible. Keep yourself busy throughout the day. Avoid sleeping during day time. Do regular exercise. Take light food in dinner.

No. Stem cell therapy is experimental and not approved. If someone offering it free as part of clinical trial or study then you can enroll and get it done. If they are charging for it then it's a marketing scam.

Brahmi For Brain

Stress reduction

If the effects of daily stressors are getting the best of you, brahmi supplementation may be something to explore. Stress reduction is perhaps brahmi’s most well known, traditional use. A study evaluating brahmi supplementation reported significant mood improvement among participants, as well as decreased levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. This suggests that brahmi counteracts the effects of stress by regulating hormones involved with the stress response.

Alzheimer’s therapy?

Alzheimer’s disease is a debilitating and heartbreaking disease, usually caused by a plethora of physiological, genetic, and environmental factors. Amyloid formation in neurons can cause significant brain damage and influence the development of alzheimer’s disease. It’s important to understand that, to date, no herb, plant, drug, or anything — including brahmi — has been found to be the magic bullet against alzheimer’s. Based on its history as an herbal therapy to promote neurological function, some have suggested that brahmi may be a promising therapy for alzheimer’s.

I am taking epileptic drugs a combination of three drugs for quite a long. Symptoms are controlled for 3-4 weeks then again it is uncontrollable even after increased dosage. Can it be due to gastric irritation caused by these drugs as my convulsions start with stomach tightness otherwise also. I am also taking pantocid20 daily one tab. Is there any relationship between menses and convulsions as during these days also I get convulsions inspite of increased dosage, please advise. Thanks.

Please do not increase or decrease anti epileptic medication on your own and steady state blood levels are required to control seizuresand do it only on the advise of your neurologist. Some times seizures have relation with Menstrual periods due to Hormonal changes. Best is to be evaluated by an expert.

Thank you for your question. This needs a thorough understanding of your problem to provide you with the best advice and guidance. I’d be happy to see you in our Specialty Epilepsy Clinic at Wockhardt Hospitals on Wednesdays from 3-6 pm where an epileptologist and myself see patients together to give them the best opinion that comprehensively solves their problem.

I believe homoeopathy has a very good scope where there is nervous system involvement. It can not only stop the progress of the disease but improves the general health... But to treat it properly my advise is to go for a detail and ideal homoeopathic case taking... one takes enough care to go through your case in detail and selects the best indicated medicine...
