Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi, you no need to take any medicine, elevate your both legs 45degree with pillow support for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening continues for one month with this you do calf muscle stretching and ankle toe movement and please take a help of physiotherapist, I think you will be fine, bye.

Dear Lybrate user, your father might be suffering with osteoporosis which is common after 50+yrs. please understand causes of back pain very first, and avoid if any reasons you find out. Lower back pain can be caused by a variety of problems with any parts of the complex, interconnected network of spinal muscles, nerves, bones, discs or tendons in the lumbar spine. Typical sources of low back pain include: The large nerve roots in the low back that go to the legs may be irritated The smaller nerves that supply the low back may be irritated The large paired lower back muscles (erector spinae) may be strained The bones, ligaments or joints may be damaged An intervertebral disc may be degenerating While back pain is extremely common, the symptoms and severity of back pain vary greatly. A simple lower back muscle strain might be excruciating enough to necessitate an emergency room visit, while a degenerating disc might cause only mild, intermittent discomfort. Identifying the symptoms and getting a diagnosis that pinpoints the underlying cause of the pain is the first step in obtaining effective pain relief. Treatment for lower back pain depends upon the patient's history and the type and severity of pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

You should avoid squatting on the floor if you have knee pain,also cross legged sitting should be avoided.You can apply some ointment like nise gel,also u can take a hot towel and cover your knee with it,do some normal exercises of the knee mainly static quadriceps ,any exercise which increases the pain should be avoided.See a doctor if in 2-3 days it doesn't get better.

Don' t do operation for knee pain, it fails mostly. Use ayurvedic medicine, is there swelling over knees, noise in it while standing. Me know a very good formula for vat, arthritis

Requires detailed investigation and examination Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Broken Bones - How Do They Heal?

A bone may break due to several reasons starting from a fall or an injury or a condition like osteoporosis that makes the bones brittle and leaves them susceptible to fractures. The fracture usually takes a few weeks to get fixed as the broken bones grow back together with the help of various forms of treatment including a plaster and sling applied by the orthopaedic specialist or general physician. Types of fracture: Before we get to the subject of how bones heal, it is important to understand the various kinds of fractures recognised by doctors. The first kind is the complete fracture where the bone breaks into two distinct parts. The next kind is the greenstick fracture or hairline fracture where there is simply a crack on one side of the bone due to pressure. Further, there is the single fracture which occurs where there is breakage of the bone only in one place. A bowing fracture may occur when the bones bend instead of breaking completely. This kind of fracture is pretty common for children. The comminuted fracture happens when the bone is crushed or broken in many places. And finally, the open fracture is one where the bone ends up protruding from the skin.

Treatment: Once you have broken a bone, the doctor will conduct an X ray which will help in understanding the type of fracture and the extent of the damage caused. The doctor will then apply a cast and plaster that will help in bringing the bone back to its normal position so that it grows back with the main bone. In case the bone has broken into various parts or there is a complete fracture, then the doctor may even insert metal pins.

  1. Natural healers: Bones are known as natural healers that can heal with the process of new cells and vessel production which rebuilds the bone by covering the broken ends and closing the gap caused due to the damage or the crack.
  2. Clot: Once a bone has broken, a blood clot or a callus forms in the surrounding region, which kind of acts towards sealing the area.
  3. Threads: Once these clots have formed, the new threads of the bone cells begin to grow slowly from the ends of the broken bones. This will grow on both sides of the affected and fractured bones, almost as if drawing a line from one broken end to another.
  4. Absorption: Finally, the callus will be absorbed by the new cell and the gap will close.

Hi, take cap. Stomotone 1-1-1 after food for 2-3 weeks and himcocid syrup 2tsf 3 times daily before food to control burning sensation in the stomach and chest. Take madiphala rasayana 2tsf 3 times a day to stop vomitting. Avoid hot and spicy food. Eat small quantities frequently. Drink plenty of water. Never miss your breakfast. Avoid excess intake of coffee and tea.

It could still be a seronegative rhematoid arthritis. You need antiinflammatory drugs and the treatment is usually long term. Consult a good orthopaedician.

I got right side inflammatory sacroiliitis. Can I do weight lifting? I do not experience any pain after excessive walking or weight lifting (I do it at home). But I want some professional trainer. Plus I got HLA-B27 ve but doctors say that I do not yet have spondylitis spondylitis after reading my blood tests, MRI and X-Rays.

Hello lybrate user, the condition what you are talking about is known as sero-negative arthritis. It is a systemic arthritis involving many joints in the body. It includes about 4 to 5 different clinical disorders and the joints involved would depend on the particular condition that affects you. Not all patients with hla-b 27 are affected by these conditions but the risk of developing the disorder is quite high. You have said that you already have inflammatory sacroilitis, so you probably are at an increased risk. I would suggest you to continue light gymnasium activities enough for you to stay fit rather than heavy gymming which can put stresses on the inflamed joints and lead to quicker arthritis. I would also suggest you to consult a physiotherapist to maintain fully functional joints through different exercises. Hope this helps.

Eat well first, then take rest as your body needs and don't get tensed be relaxed. If possible stop watching T.V. and in front of system and mobiles for longer period of time. Try to yeah take hot water with eucalyptus oil drops in that and inhale well . Hopes you will be alright when you do these. Stop taking medicines.

Your weight has to be something between 65 to 70. First of all reduce some weight. If Possible take WheatGrass Powder once in morning at 7 am with Lukewarm Water after taking this take your breakfast at 8 am.
