General Physician,
make a face pack using the mash of a peach and tomato. The antioxidants, vitamins and minerals will not only bring out a natural, healthy glow but also make your skin look tighter and plumper. Mix well and then apply on your face. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash your face with water. Also try these tomato packs for healthy skin.

How do a person get tan? How can we prevent face or body tan? Can you please suggest a medicated aloe Vera gel and a sunscreen.

BHMS
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Hello. Tanning is due to harmful effects of sun rays on skin. Melanin is pigment present in our skin. Due to harmful sun rays, skin become dark. To reduce its effect take some precautions when going out. 1. Whenever you go out in sun, always apply sunscreen half an hr before going out. Repeat suncreen after 3 hrs. 2. Try to cover exposed body parts and even face too with cotton cloth. It will protect you from sun rays and pollution also. 3. Apply sunscreen daily whether you stay at home or go out. 4. Apply curd and termeric paste on body to remove tan. Apply it for 15 mins and bath with plain water. Use it 3 -4 times a week. It removes tan. You can use patanjali aloe vera gel. Use any good company sunscreen. If you skin is oily use matt finish sunscreen or oil free. Lotus, amway, lakme all are good.

Mix some water with the baking soda and apply this mixture on the pimple marks. Baking soda serves as an agent that carries out micro dermabrasion on the skin and helps to clear the pimple marks on the face and body. Tomatoes Tomatoes are rich in Vitamin A, which helps nourish the dead skin while rejuvenating it. Vitamin A helps by healing the skin and by helping facilitate quick growth of the skin while removing the scars. Using tomatoes to help heal the scars on the skin is not a lengthy process, but it is rather simple. Just take a tomato, slice it and make it into a pulp. Apply the pulp on the face and leave it on for twenty minutes’ time. Then, wash it off with some warm water. You could also mix cucumbers with it. Make a paste out of all of cucumbers and tomatoes and apply as a face mask. Leave it on for half an hour and wash it with some cool water. Follow this method two days at a time every week and observe the results.

Dark circles are because of lack of nutrients. Sleep and weakness. So take proper nutrients and drink plenty of juices and sleep for atleast 7 hours a day. Drink 7-8 glasses of water every day.

Turmeric Mask, an Ayurvedic Skin Exfoliant

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Bangalore
Turmeric Mask, an Ayurvedic Skin Exfoliant
TURMERIC MASK , AN AYURVEDIC SKIN EXFOLIANT :

Turmeric is an age old remedy for a wide range of skin problems. Ayurveda recommends turmeric to be used regularly for glowing, blemish free complexion. Turmeric does wonders to the skin as an exfoliant. Apart from removing dead skin and impurities, the turmeric mask also maintains the natural pH balance of the skin and imparts a healthy glow to it.
Any pack we put on the skin for 20 min or so gets absorbed into the blood stream. So what better option than the `yellow gold’, as Indians refer to turmeric to enhance beauty?

Make Your Own Turmeric Skin Exfoliant:

Turmeric 1 tbsp.
2 tbsp. flour (for vata use oatmeal, for pitta use chickpea and kapha use barley flour).
Make it into a paste by adding a little water and massage into face and neck. Rub into skin for 2 min and wash off.
For oily skinned beauties, add in some lavender blossom, coriander powder or few drops of lime.
For dry skin, add in some elderly blossom.
For normal skin, rose powder can be added for that extra glow.
Ideally do this before a shower so that you can deal with the yellow stain the turmeric mask leaves on the skin.

Usually because of sun exposure, but if darkness is patchy on the face also and not uniform, then we need to evaluate internal or hormonal causes. Treatment of the cause will help both internal and external treatment may be required.

As your doctor said its due to nutritional problem, then you need to take more healthy, nutritious diet, like taking sprouts, green leafy veg, all vegetables in form of curry as well as in raw form. Whatever you can eat, more water, fruits of all seasonal, taking soya, millets, whole grain atta, pounded rice, using less oily, avoiding fried, fast, junk, spicy, outside food, will help you better.

Pigmentation Cures By Homeopathy

Protecting our skin from sun

Come summer, and sun begins to take its toll on indians, their skin to be precise. As the temperatures soar to 44 in the season, several people complain of skin-related disorders, all caused due to exposure to sun. While an exposure to sun harms people across all age groups, those with highly photosensitive skin and children are most susceptible to skin damage during summers.

The strong rays of the sun are undoubtedly damaging to human skin while its ultra-violet radiation is all the more harmful to us. Cases of dryness of the skin, spotting or pigmentation, freckles, skin pigmentation, sun tanning, appearance of reddish elevated patches on the exposed parts and lip pigmentation are common in summers. Photodermatitis is the most often complaint in summers. Signs and symptoms of photodermatitis are itchy bumps, blisters, or raised areas. Lesions that resemble eczema, hyperpigmentation, darkened discoloration compared to one’s normal skin tone, outbreaks in areas of the skin exposed to sunlight, pain, redness and swelling.

The treatment

Today we find ourselves being cautious and protective of everything around us. There are some effective and natural ways to eliminate the worries of summer time.
Homoeopathy is one of the safest forms of the first-aid available. It uses a unique approach to health and healing by addressing both the symptoms of the problem and the person concerned. It also has a unique ability to treat chronic as well as acute skin disorders very effectively.
Homoeopathic medicines do not suppress these skin conditions but try to treat them from its source, thereby annihilating the disease in totality

Homoeopathic medicine belladonna is very beneficial for treating the initial stages when burning starts.

If blisters form, then homoeopathic medicine cantharis should be used.
Sulphur is a very important homoeopathic medicine when skin disorder results from an exposure to sun. It is also very helpful in chronic skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis, etc, which aggravate in summers.

But evaluation by a professional homoeopath is a must for correct selection of the medicine and potency.

Bloody stool, frequent urge for stool but less volume is evacuated each time. 2 days duration. Has previous history of bloody stool.

BHMS, CGO
Homeopath, Pune
Blood in the stool can be frightening, whether you discover it while wiping after a bowel movement or from a test ordered by your health care provider. While blood in stool can signal a serious problem, it doesn't always. Here's what you need to know about the possible causes of bloody stools and what you -- and your doctor -- should do if you discover a problem. Causes of blood in stool blood in the stool means there is bleeding somewhere in your digestive tract. Sometimes the amount of blood is so small that it can only be detected by a fecal occult test (which checks for hidden blood in the stool). At other times it may visible on toilet tissue or in the toilet after a bowel movement as bright red blood. Bleeding that happens higher up in the digestive tract may make stool appear black and tarry. Possible causes of blood in stool include: diverticular disease. Diverticula are small pouches that project from the colon wall. Usually diverticula don't cause problems, but sometimes they can bleed or become infected. Anal fissure. A small cut or tear in the tissue lining the anus similar to the cracks that occur in chapped lips or a paper cut. Fissures are often caused by passing a large, hard stool and can be painful. Colitis. Inflammation of the colon. Among the more common causes are infections or inflammatory bowel disease. Angiodysplasia. A condition in which fragile, abnormal blood vessels lead to bleeding. Peptic ulcers. An open sore in the lining of the stomach or duodenum, the upper end of the small intestine. Many peptic ulcers are caused by infection with a bacterium called helicobacter pylori (h. Pylori). Long-term use or high doses of anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen can also cause ulcers. Polyps or cancer. Polyps are benign growths that can grow, bleed, and become cancerous. Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the u. S. It often causes bleeding that is not noticeable with the naked eye. Esophageal problems. Varicose veins of the esophagus or tears in the esophagus can lead to severe blood loss. Blood in stool diagnosis it is important to have a doctor evaluate any bleeding in the stool. Any details you can give about the bleeding will help your doctor locate the site of bleeding. For example, a black, tarry stool is likely an ulcer or other problem in the upper part of the digestive tract. Bright red blood or maroon-colored stools usually indicate a problem in the lower part of the digestive tract such as hemorrhoids or diverticulitis. After getting a medical history and doing a physical exam, the health care provider may order tests to determine the cause of bleeding. Tests may include: nasogastric lavage. A test that may tell your doctor whether bleeding is in the upper or lower digestive tract. The procedure involves removing the contents of the stomach through a tube inserted into the stomach through the nose. If the stomach does not contain evidence of blood, the bleeding may have stopped or is more likely in the lower digestive tract. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (egd). A procedure that involves inserting an endoscope, or flexible tube with a small camera on the end, through the mouth and down the esophagus to the stomach and duodenum. The doctor can use this to look for the source of bleeding. Endoscopy can also be used to collect small tissue samples for examination under a microscope (biopsy). Colonoscopy. A procedure similar to an egd except that the scope is inserted through the rectum to view the colon. As with an egd, colonoscopy can be used to collect tissue samples to biopsy. Enteroscopy. A procedure similar to egd and colonoscopy used to examine the small intestine. In some cases this involves swallowing a capsule with a tiny camera inside that transmits images to video monitor as it passes through the digestive tract. Barium x-ray. A procedure that uses a contrast material called barium to make the digestive tract show up on an x-ray. The barium may either be swallowed or inserted into the rectum. Radionuclide scanning. A procedure that involves injecting small amounts of radioactive material into a vein and then using a special camera to see images of blood flow in the digestive tract to detect where bleeding is happening. Angiography. A procedure that involves injecting a special dye into a vein that makes blood vessels visible on an x-ray or computerized tomography (ct) scan. The procedure detects bleeding as dye leaks out of blood vessels at the bleeding site. Laparotomy. A surgical procedure in which the doctor opens and examines the abdomen. This may be necessary if other tests fail to find the cause of bleeding. Health care providers also order lab tests when there is blood in stools. These tests may look for clotting problems, anemia, and the presence of h. Pylori infection. Associated symptoms a person with blood in the stool may be unaware of bleeding and might have reported no symptoms. On the other hand, they may also have abdominal pain, vomiting, weakness, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, palpitations, fainting, and weight loss depending on the cause, location, length, and severity of the bleeding. Depending on the cause, however, treatment may involve simple things you can do on your own. These including eating a high-fiber diet to relieve constipation that can cause and aggravate hemorrhoids and anal fissures, and sitting in warm or hot baths to relieve fissures.
