I have a teeth problem, 5 years ago I had lost my tooth, there will be any problem in future? I am with out tooth now.

Post-Graduate Certificate in Endodontics
Dentist, Cuttack
Sir as soon as possible you should replace your missing tooth. Well but the reason behind is if you don't replace your tooth and leave the gap as it is, the adjacent tooth will start moving towards the open space and also the tooth above the blank space. This will loosen those teeth and gradually they will fall. So don't make this mistake and undergo the treatment.

Even after the rct is complete, patients must visit their endodontists or dentists to get the proper restorative work completed on the tooth.

Respected Sir, I suffer from ulcer in mouth again and again what I have to do is this problem occurs due to the inappropriate sleep.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Dear lybrate-user, if your ulcer is occurring at the same spot in the mouth then it may be due to some kind of irritation of the spot like in the cheek by a tooth. For this you have to get a dental checkup done by a dentist. In case the ulcers are occurring in different spots then you have to be careful about dental hygiene. Brush your teeth daily at least twice inaday for at least 2 min each time. Also floss your tongue &rinse your mouth after every meal. Avoid spicy food. Lastly please go & get a checkup done by a dentist.

BDS
Dentist, Pune
Use senquel- f or sensodyne toothpaste twice or thrice daily, tak it on a finger n coat it on all the tooth surface, leave it for 5 min & after that brush using the same. These toothpaste have flouride content, which closes the open dentinal tubules thus preventing sensitivity gradualy.

Dr. My daughters one front teeth Is broken half he is 12 years old what Precaution should be taken.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
If the tooth breaks, have the tooth contoured. Fill the crack in. Place a crown on your tooth. If the tooth has been badly damaged and the nerve or pulp is exposed, the dentist may have to perform a root canal to save the tooth. If the tooth has been severely damaged, it may have to be extracted.

The Working Woman's Guide to the Perfect Smile!

The Working Woman's Guide to the Perfect Smile!

Here are habits to implement today to maintain that perfect smile for you and your family tomorrow

As women at work or at home, we are responsible for the health of those around us. If you are a compassionate and caring mother, daughter, sister or wife looking after the dental health of your family becomes imperative to their well being.

Here are some useful habits that can go a long way in keeping you and your family smiling for years.

#1 go soft automatic

Rev up your brushing-use an automated tooth brush. This maybe true for not only you as a woman but for your family. Make sure you switch them to an automatic or motorized brush with soft or extra soft bristles. This works best since it takes the guesswork out of brushing and improves your and your children's technique even if they're sleepy in the morning.

#2 dental emergency kit

Keeping a dental emergency kit loaded with some essentials like a basic dental painkiller (as prescribed), clove oil, some dental floss and a toothpick (not a habit recommended by us but when things get lodged and cause pain it maybe the last resort)

#3 vitamin check

Best way of ensuring good tooth and bone health is to ensure good levels of vitamins vitamin d3, calcium especially if you're beating menopause and even iron, b complex to prevent anaemias which can be detected orally. Deficiencies of vitamins and essential minerals can make your family more susceptible to oral health problems.

#4 gift a smile

Gift your dependents a great smile be it preventive treatments for your young ones like our decay protection programme which ensures they never have to feel dental pain like we have, or the braces intervention campaign which helps guide teeth to proper positions at an early age. More questions about your young ones dental health

For the elderly who missed out on a lot of preventive dental work can now enjoy the benefits of latest technology giving them fixed teeth instead of removable dentures.

#5 start a trend-family oral health checkup

Mark a day in your calendar a public holiday or the beginning of the year a time that you can easily remember and as a family get an annual checkup to not only ensure that you do not suffer from any dental problems but also early detection of any upcoming medical issues can be done.

What can I do to prevent cavities?
Dental cleanings remove plaque from teeth and reduce the risk of cavities. Your dentist will check your teeth forcavities after each cleaning. Cavities are tooth decay, or holes that form on the surface of your teeth. They don?t typically cause discomfort in the early stages, but pain and sensitivity may develop if you ignore the problem.

Different factors increase the risk for cavities. These include drinking sugary beverages, eating sugary foods, and bacteria in the mouth. Your dentist can recommend a plan to reduce your number of cavities. This can include brushing or flossing more often, avoiding certain types of foods, and chewing sugarless gum throughout the day to increase the amount of saliva in your mouth.

One of my friend canine teeth are improper. At canine location two adjacent teeth are there. Can the teeth made to a proper position. What is d treatment should undergo? And how much time it will take for a treatment? And what can b the cost for treatment?

BDS, Diploma in Oral Implantology
Dentist, Guwahati
Mr. Lybrate-user, one or two of the teeth may/may not be needed to be extracted depending on the situation, to align all the teeth in their proper positions. An opg pan xray as well as individual xrays of those teeth needs to be taken for treatment planning. The full treatment could be a combination of different procedures including braces, surgical removal of teeth, fillings, etc.
