First of all, start doing meditation daily for 30-40 min and increase it up to 1 hour. Sit in a calm relaxed and noise free place and at a time when no one will disturb u. Turn off your mobile phone first. Focus on your breathing and forget everything else. Sit still without any movement and focus only on your breath coming and going out of your body. Next thing is pranayam. Daily be done for 20 min or more. It will give more oxygen to your body cells and brain and improve the functioning of brain and body. Helps you feel better and think better. Take your medications regularly with faith and eat well and healthy food. Make yoga a part of life under guidance of a good yoga instructor. Pray with devotion and faith to your deity. Do these things daily religiously without fail and you will see lots of positive changes in your self.

Not much is known about its entertainment value or benefits. There is a lot of hype by those who want to legitimize it and those who love it: there is a bias because of their selfish motives. The antagonists on the other hand willfully propagate the dangers, sometimes without substantiated reasons to dissuade its use. If you know it is harmful why would you want to play with it. The obsession and compulsive use is when you become addicted to the substance. Now we all spoke the same language: we can stop whenever we want, it is not addictive, it is fun after all, there are so many medical benefits etc. All meant to justify the consumption. There are so many other healthy ways to be creative or to stimulate the creativity in you; and there are so many ways to ‘open’ your mind. Why choose the easy way out when it is a chemical way out? Just for your information here’s what WebMD has to say: ‘No matter how it gets into your system, it affects almost every organ in your body, and your nervous system and immune system, too. When you smoke pot, your body absorbs THC right away. (If you eat a baked good or another item, it may take much longer for your body to absorb THC, because it has to break down in your stomach before it enters your bloodstream). You may notice changes in your body right after you smoke. The effects usually stop after 3 or 4 hours. Smoking pot can increase your heart rate by as much as two times for up to 3 hours. That’s why some people have a heart attack right after they use marijuana. It can increase bleeding, lower blood pressure, and affect your blood sugar, too. We don’t yet know if marijuana is linked to higher odds of getting lung cancer. Dear Lybrate user, You must be able to understand Concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions. Please understand the above. Change your study style and attitude accordingly. Hi lybrate-user, I can understand your concern. But don't make your body weight such a priority that you lose sight of everything else which is more important. Suicide for any reason is not the solution. There is solution for everything. If you are underweight, then you may want to see a doctor in order to rule out a serious medical condition. This is particularly important if you have recently started losing large amounts of weight without even trying. Eat Lots of Carbs and Fat, and Eat at Least 3 Times Per Day Plate With Meat, Beans and Potatoes Many people try restricting either carbs or fat when they are trying to lose weight. This is a bad idea if your goal is to gain weight, because it will make it harder to get in enough calories. 1) Eat plenty of high-carb and high-fat foods if weight gain is a priority for you. It is best to eat plenty of protein, fat and carbs at each meal. It is also a bad idea to do intermittent fasting. This is useful for weight loss and health improvement, but can make it much harder to eat enough calories to gain weight. Make sure to eat at least 3 meals per day, and try to add in energy-dense snacks whenever possible. 2) Eat Lots of Protein The single most important nutrient for gaining healthy weight is protein. Muscle is made of protein, and without it most of those extra calories may end up as body fat. Studies show that during periods of overfeeding, a high protein diet causes many of the extra calories to be turned into muscle (However, keep in mind that protein is a double-edged sword. It is also highly filling, so that it can reduce your hunger and appetite significantly. This can make it harder to get in enough calories If you’re trying to gain weight, aim for 0.7-1 grams of protein per pound of body weight (1.5 – 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram). You can even go above that if your calorie intake is very high. High-protein foods include meats, fish, eggs, many dairy products, legumes, nuts and others. Protein supplements like whey protein can also be useful if you struggle to get enough protein in your diet. Here are some energy-dense foods that are perfect for gaining weight: Nuts: Almonds, walnuts, macadamia nuts, peanuts, etc. Dried fruit: Raisins, dates, prunes and others. High-fat dairy: Whole milk, full-fat yogurt, cheese, cream. Fats and Oils: Extra virgin olive oil and avocado oil. Grains: Whole grains like oats and brown rice. Meat: Chicken, beef, pork, lamb, etc. Choose fattier cuts. Tubers: Potatoes, sweet potatoes and yams. Dark chocolate, avocados, peanut butter, coconut milk, granola, trail mixes. Many of these foods are very filling, and sometimes you may need to force yourself to keep eating even if you feel full. It may be a good idea not to eat a ton of vegetables if gaining weight is a priority for you. It simply leaves less room for energy-dense foods. Eating whole fruit is fine, but try to emphasize fruit that doesn’t require too much chewing, such as bananas. 10 More Tips to Gain Weight Combining a high calorie intake with heavy strength training are the two most important factors. Here are 10 more tips to gain weight: Don’t drink water before meals. This can fill your stomach and make it harder to get in enough calories. Eat more often. Squeeze in an additional meal or snack whenever you can, such as before bed. Drink milk. Drinking whole milk to quench thirst is a simple way to get in more high-quality protein and calories. Try weight gainer shakes. If you are really struggling then you can try weight gainer shakes. These are very high in protein, carbs and calories. Use bigger plates. Definitely use large plates if you are trying to get in more calories, as smaller plates cause people to automatically eat less. Add cream to your coffee. This is a simple way to add in more calories. Take creatine. The muscle building supplement creatine monohydrate can help you gain a few pounds in muscle weight. Get quality sleep. Sleeping properly is very important for muscle growth. Eat your protein first and vegetables last. If you have a mix of foods on your plate, eat the calorie-dense and protein-rich foods first. The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say" i'm depressed" when in fact they mean" i'm fed up because i've had a row, or failed an exam, or lost my job" etc. These ups and downs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly. With true depression, you have a low mood and other symptoms each day for at least two weeks The common symptoms are (few might be present in a person with depression) Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters Loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies or sports Sleep disturbances, including insomnia or sleeping too much Tiredness and lack of energy, so even small tasks take extra effort Changes in appetite — often reduced appetite and weight loss, but increased cravings for food and weight gain in some people Anxiety, agitation or restlessness Slowed thinking, speaking or body movements Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixating on past failures or blaming yourself for things that aren't your responsibility Trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions and remembering things Frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.

My 20 yrs old brother having mood fluctualtions and always thinks himself as the best in world. He drinks and smokes. We r from normal middl class family, but he blackmails and forced us to buy him a car and he has lot of expenditure. He does lota of tantrums. And sudden mood flutuations. At times he talks sense but always make others feel down, specially parents. Please can somebody help.

Hello, thanks for the query. It is indeed difficult to put up with a temperamental family member & I understand your difficulty. You mentioned he took some antimanic drug, can you tell its name, dosage & why he is no longer taking it? your brother needs psychiatrist consultation for sure to ascertain whether these mood swings are due to some mental illness (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia) or they form his personality style (known as cluster b personality traits) so that he can receive proper help accordingly. Dear Anamika, Stammering is "speaking with sudden involuntary pauses and a tendency to repeat the initial letters of words" or "say something with difficulty, repeating the initial letters of words and with sudden involuntary pauses". Stammering could be due to two reasons. One. Vocal chord misalignment. Two. Psychological performance anxiety. First of all you should consult an ENT Specialist and evaluate your vocal chords. If there is problem, ENT specialist will be able to correct it. If there is no problem with your vocal chords, You should consult a psychologist for stammer therapy. Take care.

Dear, Tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. Hello, to recover from the side effects of smoking you should take tabacum 200, 5 drops once in a week and arnica 30 ch, 5 drops once daily. Daphne indica 1x, 2 tabs twice daily.
