For thyroid problem please take to him a good endocrinologist. May be his work condition and stress. He behaves like that. He is not psycho. Do not treat to him as mental patient. Talk to him affectionately. Do not give gap for communication. Better to understand from his side. After drinking any one behaves differently. Do not judge him as mental. Because of his illness he behaves like that also. Better to understand him. Give much co operation to come out of the status. Talk to him with friendly manner when he is in good mood. Better to advise him not to drink too much. Give proper medicine at the time. He can speak to you if you act as a friend. He shares each and everything to you. Listen his feelings and problems very patiently. Do not treat to him very different manner. It is always not good to you. You save your husaband means you save your family. In this time you need to paly very key role. Love him your affetionative words will change his behaviour. So care must take in all aspects. Better to take the help of elders and family members. Do not think alone. Your role is very important in this stage. Ok all the best.

My 83 years old mother has been diagnosed of Alzheimer's disease and with the first dose of allopathic medicine - DONEP- she ended up being admitted in the hospital in emergency for extreme weakness and nausea. Now she refuses to take that medicine. About a month back I started giving her homeopathic - BARYTA CARB 200 thrice a day 5 balls but do not see any improvement in her. I have heard that Ayurveda has good treatment for alzheimer, request you to please advise. When the memory test was done by the psychiatrist, my mother scored 20/30. She has no other health problems.

Your mother was diagnosed as Alzheimer's. Since her score is 20/30 (probably on MMSE), it must be mild dementia. It is unfortunate that she is unable to tolerate Donep (Donepezil). i hope it is a 5 mg tablet to start with. Since she does not have any other health problem, her life expectancy must be - many more years. Alzheimer's is a progressive disorder. Slowly she will become more and more forgetful and may have behavioural problems too. Donepezil will arrest the disorder from progressing further, though it may not improve her memory which she already lost. It will help if your mother has any behavioural problems also. If you think of all these benefits, you may try Donep with an anti vomiting drug. However please keep your mother's preserved memory active and encourage her in few memory games.

The term stress is both an advantage and a disadvantage. It is advantageous because it is all-embracing and allows a synthesis of many aspects of life's experiences; it is disadvantageous because its referents are diverse. Pharmacological Approaches to Stress Management- it should be started after proper evaluation. Stress-Management Training-- it is important to highlight five skills that form the core of almost all stress-management programs: self-observation, cognitive restructuring, relaxation training, time management, and problem solving. This training can be done on Individual basis and also through video chat. if any further details are required let me know.

Hello,Smoking is injurious to health. Smoking can have serious effects on your life. The longer you smoke, the more damage you do to your body.If you want to quit smoking then take the below treatment:- take tabacum 200, 5 drops once in a week and arnica 30 ch, 5 drops once daily.Daphne indica 1x, 2 tabs twice daily. Revert me after 1 month.

I Have habit of chewing tobacco. I wish to stop it. But I find it impossible on my own. What is the scientific reason for our body, because of which it is very difficult to stop tobacco.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Nicotine causes pleasant feelings and distracts the user from unpleasant feelings. This makes the tobacco user want to use more. Nicotine also acts as a kind of depressant by interfering with the flow of information between nerve cells. As the nervous system adapts to nicotine, tobacco users tend to increase the amount of tobacco they use. This raises the amount of nicotine in their blood, and more tobacco is needed to get the same effect. This is called tolerance. Over time, the tobacco user reaches a certain nicotine level and then will need to keep up the usage to keep the level of nicotine within a comfortable range. So quitting tobacco becomes a tough task. Will power only can help you along with deaddiction therapy. Take care.

The end of a relationship often feels like the end of the world. After all the time and energy you have invested in it, it is very painful when it gets over. Keep in mind that life is full of ups and downs; nothing is permanent. The pain you feel today will go away with time. Give yourself time to heal. Give time, time. In the meanwhile don't isolate yourself from your friends and family. Confide in someone you are comfortable with. Make a list of life goals, and plan how to achieve them. Relationships are an important part of your life, but they are not everything. Spend time with those close to you, indulge in some enjoyable activities. Keep yourself busy. Slowly you will see that there is a lot to life. However if you are feeling suicidal, consult a psychiatrist immediately. Don't wait to feel worse.
