Yes you need to consult a psychologist for his assesment its important to arrive on diagnosis- it seems to be either adhd or autistic features. So psychologist will take full case history along with assesments and treatment will be planned thereafter. It could also be some behavioral issues.

Best option is to see a psychologist who is specialist in conducting interest and aptitude tests. Based on the reports, you will be given vocational guidance and career counselling regarding what are the best available options for you. Interest testing will tell which are your fields of interest while aptitude testing will test whether you have ability to succeed in areas of your interest.

Which part of body is severely harmed due to smoking? What are the symptoms of any disease.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
You can read this information and see for yourself the extent of harm smoking can do: Summary: (Source: Center for Disease Control and Prevention) • Cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths each year in the United States. This is nearly one in five deaths. • More than 10 times as many U.S. citizens have died prematurely from cigarette smoking than have died in all the wars fought by the United States during its history. • Smoking causes about 90% (or 9 out of 10) of all lung cancer deaths in men and women.1,2 More women die from lung cancer each year than from breast cancer. • About 80% (or 8 out of 10) of all deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are caused by smoking. • Cigarette smoking increases risk for death from all causes in men and women. • Smoking is estimated to increase the risk— o For coronary heart disease by 2 to 4 times o For stroke by 2 to 4 times o Of men developing lung cancer by 25 times • Of women developing lung cancer by 25.7 times • Smoking causes diminished overall health, increased absenteeism from work, and increased health care utilization and cost. • Smoking causes stroke and coronary heart disease. • Even people who smoke fewer than five cigarettes a day can have early signs of cardiovascular disease. • Smoking damages blood vessels and can make them thicken and grow narrower. This makes your heart beat faster and your blood pressure go up. Clots can also form. • Blockages caused by smoking can also reduce blood flow to your legs and skin. • Lung diseases caused by smoking include COPD, which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. • Cigarette smoking causes most cases of lung cancer. • If you have asthma, tobacco smoke can trigger an attack or make an attack worse. • Smokers are 12 to 13 times more likely to die from COPD than nonsmokers. Smoking can cause cancer almost anywhere in your body: • Bladder • Blood (acute myeloid leukemia) • Cervix • Colon and rectum (colorectal) • Esophagus • Kidney and ureter • Larynx • Liver • Oropharynx (includes parts of the throat, tongue, soft palate, and the tonsils) • Pancreas • Stomach • Trachea, bronchus, and lung • Smoking can make it harder for a woman to become pregnant and can affect her baby's health before and after birth. Smoking increases risks for: o Preterm (early) delivery o Stillbirth (death of the baby before birth) o Low birth weight o Sudden infant death syndrome (known as SIDS or crib death) o Ectopic pregnancy o Orofacial clefts in infants • Smoking can also affect men's sperm, which can reduce fertility and also increase risks for birth defects and miscarriage. • Smoking can affect bone health. o Women past childbearing years who smoke have weaker bones than women who never smoked, and are at greater risk for broken bones. • Smoking affects the health of your teeth and gums and can cause tooth loss. • Smoking can increase your risk for cataracts (clouding of the eye’s lens that makes it hard for you to see) and age-related macular degeneration (damage to a small spot near the center of the retina, the part of the eye needed for central vision). • Smoking is a cause of type 2 diabetes mellitus and can make it harder to control. The risk of developing diabetes is 30–40% higher for active smokers than nonsmokers. • Smoking causes general adverse effects on the body, including inflammation and decreased immune function. • Smoking is a cause of rheumatoid arthritis.

Want to quit smoking, When ever I try it, I feel very louder, I talk to people in very bad way, I can't keep patience.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Dear, Realise that even a single puff of smoking is bad not only physically but contaminates your consciousness and mindset because the ingredients in alcohol/tobacco/cigarette/bidi are basically intoxicants or poisonous. Simply read nice books which give you a higher meaning to life than chemicals in alcohol/drugs/smoking/tobacco. Also, remember that smoking is harmful to your body Please remember that alcohol/drugs/smoking is toxic to your body, mind and well-being. The earlier you can stop this habit, the healthier it can be for you. The lower taste and sinful habit of alcohol/smoking/drugs can be stopped by replacing it with the higher taste. Simply read nice books which give you a higher meaning to life than chemicals in alcohol/drugs/smoking In place of alcohol, spend your time by doing transcendental meditation or Bhakti yoga and Chant the names of God Who you have faith in. It has been scientifically proved that by doing Yoga and Chanting, the habit of alcohol/smoking/drugs can be stopped. By chanting with love, soon you would be swimming in an ocean of pleasure which is million times greater than flickering pleasure of intoxicants like alcohol, and automatically the attraction to the low taste of alcohol/tobacco/drugs would stop.

I really want to stop smoking but just couldn't.Tried atleast 90% of the tips given on internet but it just stops for awhile than starts off again.Help!

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Congratulations that you want to quit smoking. Tobacco consumption, either through smoke or other edible forms, is always harmful. The desire to quit is a good starting point. The best way to quit is to know more about the ill-effects of tobacco. The knowledge is astounding and scary. That information itself should help you to want to quit. Smoking uses the respiratory system and gives you a faster kick. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lungs with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heart beat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. There are more than 4000 harmful chemicals in cigarette smoke! You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. Then you need to identify why you smoke and chew tobacco: there is an oral need, the nicotine effect, the psychological effect of covering up some other issue, for style, to impress, etc. You may discover that the reasons may be unimportant at this stage because you have become too addicted and the habit has become compulsive. You should start exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga) or chewing, and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need, for a little while. You may take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine chewing gum or nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces substantially. You may join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.E. At least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking tobacco. Here?s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world ? you can start the cessation all over again. Don?t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. As Mark Twain once jocularly said, ?giving up smoking is easy; I have done it many times. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest.

Masters in Clinical Psychology

Hi lybrate-user, I can understand what you are going through. Remember, its a temporary phase we all go through such stages like break up and we all survive. Committing suicide for someone who is no more there in your life will not serve any purpose anyway its the mot absurd act. Build your career and live for your parents, lot of girls will enter your life do not waste time on past.

Hi. Take homoeopathic medicine - schwabe's alpha-nc and alpha-cf - both thrice daily for 4 days. Use bakson's nasal-aid spray/ 1-2 sprays after every 4 hours. Management: - avoid cold drinks and fried food, take healthy food. -avoid exposure to air-conditioner or cold air. -take steam-inhalation once before going to bed. -take enough sleep and rest. For stress/ tension: there are few yoga poses which helps in calming your mind and relieves stress, but first learn these under a qualified yoga-teacher as many poses are prohibited in certain diseases or medical conditions! exercises: practice shavasana or corpse pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. (the mind and body are deeply connected. If the mind is occupied by thoughts and worries then the shavasana will be unsuccessful. Therefore one has to acquire the stability of the mind along with the stability of the body.) anuloma involves inhaling through both nostrils together and exhaling each breath alternately between the left and right nostrils. The thumb of the right hand is used to manipulate the right nostril, while the pinky and ring finger are used to control the left nostril. There are many other poses of yoga like balasan, setu bandha sarvangasan, uttanasan, garudasan, savasana, triconasana, viprita karani, marjaryasana, dhyana, bhujangasana, anulom-vilum, pranayam, etc. Another stress-buster can be getting involved in any of your hobbies (may be a childhood hobby which you used to enjoy a lot!) - dancing, singing, painting, listening to soothing music, playing musical instruments, etc. (believe me, you would really enjoy doing this alone as well or may be with your friends, kids). Medication: take homoeopathic medication - schwabe's bacopa monierri 1x/ thrice daily and kali phos. 6x/ once at night - take them for 4 weeks.

Dear lybrate user, welcome to lybrate. You must be able to understand concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. If the task is boring, it is natural that that person will sleep or feel sleepy. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions. Please understand the above. Change your study style and attitude accordingly. Please search internet for" effective learning" techniques. Take care.

I am 33 years. I and my wife are in good sexual life. But sometime I wish to have sex with other partner. A few are about to do sex with me. Till now I haven't done with other than my wife. Absolutely ill-advised. Your mind often proposes a better experience and certainly it appeals to the libido to entertain such fantasies but it is rampant with trouble and dangers. Since you are already satiated with your wife, you should not indulge i such fantasies because it can lead to impulsive behavior. This can ruin your marriage and this desire may become addictive and you may not be able to stop it later on. The danger of infection itself is worrisome. But why would you want to spoil a good relationship to pander to your erotic fantasies? Just drop the idea and get on with improving your relationship and giving your wife a great time in life for being able to so satisfy your needs so well. Otherwise, you are tampering with your own peace and settled life to ruin it for good.
