As arthritis is very common that you get generally bilaterally. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. Simple Knee Exercies Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. Are there any long-term effects associated with taking ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) medications? If so, what are they and what medications are implicated? What exactly is a spine block injection? Will it work long-term for low back pain due to disc problems? What causes Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and what is the best method of treatment? Can iodine help this condition?

There is no spine block injection. There is an injection called epidural steriod injection given for the disc problems of the back and neck if there is radicular pain due to disc bulge and which is known in the mri. The results are variable from individual to individual and some experience long term results even with single injection and some require 2 to 3 injections in a gap of few months. But it is mostly without side effects.

Gentle Shoulder Stretching. Core Strengthening Exercises. Gentle Neck Exercises. Avoid sleeping on affected side. Warm up and cool down is a must. Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment shoulder is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the shoulder with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.

Hello lybrate user, it is possible that you might have sustained a soft tissue injury in your knee joint which was missed at the time of trauma when only bony injuries were investigated for. If you still have regular pains then I would suggest you get an mri done for the same. You could also consult an orthopaedic surgeon for a detailed clinical evaluation. You might also need to undergo arthroscopic examination of the knee joint if one is not able to reach a diagnosis with an mri. Hope this helps.

I am having back ache since last two week, tried pain killers but not working. Pls suggest.
Low back pain is caused by injury to a muscle (strain) or ligament (sprain). Common causes include improper lifting, poor posture, lack of regular exercise, a fracture, a ruptured disc or arthritis. Often, the only symptom is pain in the lower back. Most low back pain goes away on its own in two to four weeks. Physiotherapy and pain relievers can help. A few cases may require surgery.

Nothing to do. If pain appears, go through tab. Chymoral-forte like tablets (two tab daily after food × 3 days) with PPI. If clotts not seen externally, GO through work and cold contrast bath. You can call me for detail discussion.

I am having numbness in my left arm for the last few days. I felt the numbness for the first time 15-20 days back. One of the doctors I went to asked me to raise both hands and smile I think the tests were ok. He then asked me to go for MRI, while he also said simultaneously that the chances of finding something in the brain is remote. I want a second opinion should I go for MRI? What could be the possible reason for this numbness? -Rajesh.

Numbness in the arm suggests the possibility of cervical slip disc for which MRI is gold standard in diagnosing. However, if you have apprehensions for MRI, you may try a conservative trial with analgesics, rest and cervical traction physiotherapy. If symptoms persists beyond 3 weeks of conservative trial, do get an MRI.
