My wife has pain in the right leg angle for last two months. She is not on medication. Her weight near 100 kgs. What is your advise?

Diploma in Acupuncture, Pranic Healing, MD - Acupuncture
Acupuncturist, Bangalore
Over weight is the main cause of her problem. Let her avoid the usual meals and depend only on salads and fruits. If not diabetic. Reduction of weight is compulsory. Further give acupressure with a pencil on blunt edge between the mid portion of the ankle bone and the tendons on either side of the leg. Repeat on the other leg also. Report after 5 days.

Hello ,from two days onwards am suffering with severe upper back pain. Give me suggestions what should I do now?

BHMS
Homeopath, Secunderabad
Take proper rest and do not exert yourself. Do not do any deep massage. You can apply hot water bag or alternate it with cold compress. If it is due to some sprain it should get better in a few day. If the pain is unbearable then please do not ignore it and go to a doctor.

: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

I am 22 years older I am suffering from back pain can you advise me for getting cure.

Diploma in Orthopaedics, MBBS
Orthopedist, Alappuzha
For your cure we need diagnosis first. You have answer some questions. Like how it started. When it is more. Which movement increases n which one decrease pain. Like bending forward increases or decrease pain. What is exact site of your pain. Any history of fever in recent past. And one x-ray.

Suffering from pain in left hand and leg. MRI suggests disc bulge in C3 C4, L3, L4 and L4 L5. As per the neurosurgeon I also have L6 in lumber which causes pain. Medicines are not working. What alternative therapy recommended to overcome pain and get back to earlier fitness.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD - Ayurveda
Ayurveda, Trivandrum
Hello... Ayurvedic panchakarma therapies works good in disc bulge and prolapse conditions.. However the therapy shall include external treatments , internal medicines , diet and exercise routines ... And all this shall require u to be an in patient for a given period of time However it should be noted that ... Post treatment excessive physical strain can again cause the discs to bulge depending on the wear and tear caused by ohysical stress .. Hence physical care would be a part of the recovery and prevention program

Home Remedies for Joint Pain

Master in Psychology, MD - Ayurveda, Dems, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda,
Home Remedies for Joint Pain
1. Massage
Massage therapy helps relieve joint pain by improving circulation and soothing inflammation. In fact, several studies indicate that regular massage can improve pain, stiffness and range of motion in the affected joint.
To massage the affected area, use warm oil like coconut, olive, mustard, castor or garlic oil and apply gentle pressure while massaging.

2. Hot and cold compresses
Alternating hot and cold compresses can also help ease joint pain. Heat therapy helps decrease pain, increase blood flow and relax sore muscles and joints. Cold therapy reduces inflammation and numbs the areas around the affected joint.
- Wrap both compresses in separate towels before using them. They should not be applied directly to the skin.
- Place the hot compress on the affected area for about three minutes.
- Remove the compress and immediately put a cold compress in its place for about one minute.
- Repeat the process for 15 to 20 minutes a few times daily until you get relief
