Please provide me with information on the best possible treatment of Hepatitis C. Which are the best places and what is the cost involved? Can we go for alternative medicine too?

MD - General Medicine, MBBS
General Physician,
Hepatitis c is a infection of the liver which is very difficult to treat and the treatment is given for a very long time and is quite expensive. Despite this there is no guarantee of cure. The best treatment is what is called a interferons, but only few doctors have experience with this. Consult a gastroenterologist.

I have itching problem in my private area from past a month . applied itch guard but no use so pls help me.

I have itching problem in my private area from past a month . applied itch guard but no use so pls help me.
Itching in private area is called jock itch. Jock itch is a very common groin rash. Roughly half of jock itch is due to fungus. The remainder is caused by moisture, irritation, and bacterial overgrowth. In most cases, jock itch can be treated at home effectively. You can try the following remedies to get rid of the infection: 1.Apply over-the-counter antifungal cream, powder, or spray to the affected area - our best options include Lamisil, Lotrimin Ultra, and/or Naftin. These are more expensive, but they will get rid of jock itch faster. Prefer Lotrimin Ultra which contains Butenafine Hydrochloride over regular Lotrimin AF which just contains clotrimazole. Studies have shown Butenafine can be faster and more effective than clotrimazole. You can also purchase cheaper creams containing clotrimazole or miconazole. These will take a little longer to work, but they will effectively wipe out jock itch. 2.Wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and warm water. 3.Dry the affected area thoroughly after bathing and exercise. 4.Change clothes and undergarments every day. 5.Wear loose cotton clothing. Avoid wearing any clothing that rubs or irritates your crotch. 6.Treat any other fungal infections, such as athlete’s foot. Doing this will decrease the risk for recurrence.

Sir I am suffer from stammering. My confidence level is very low when I stutter. Is there any remedy for it. Pliz suggest me.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
Stammering is typically recognised by a tense struggle to get words out. This makes it different from the normal non-fluency we all experience which includes hesitations and repetitions. Commonly it involves repeating or prolonging sounds or words, or getting stuck without any sound (silent blocking). Sometimes people put in extra sounds or words. Often people lose eye contact. Some people who stammer talk their way round difficult words so that you may not realise they stammer at all. This avoidance of words, and avoidance of speaking in some or many situations, is an important aspect of stammering. Stammering varies tremendously from person to person and is highly variable for the person who stammers who may be fluent one minute and struggling to speak the next. Get an mri brain and eeg with a psychiatrist evaluation.

Doctor is recommending homeopathic medicins for hernia. Is it reliable? Doctor says that homeopathic treats 90% of cases n that Surgery option is last resort. Please advice! Its a request n vry urgent.

F.N.B.(Minimal Access Surgery), MS (General Surgery) , MBBS, FALS(Fellow Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery), FCLS(Fellow International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons), FIAGES
General Surgeon, Bhubaneswar
In case of Hernia, there is no medicinal management. Surgery is the only option. It should be done as soon as possible. Its not an emergency surgery but you should not delay it for longer duration. Both open and Laparoscopic surgeries are available for hernia. Consult a surgeon near by and he will explain you in detail. There is a chance of obstruction in case of hernia which can lead to an emergency situation.
