Hello. I am 28 years old. My mouth become dry. And I have a problem of bad breath and gum bleeding also. please give me a suggestion for this. I am very disappoint because of bad breath and dry mouth. Feeling so much embarrassment because of this. please give me a treatment and good product for dry mouth specially.

FOR DRY MOUTH: Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Drink plenty of water. For dry mouth, consider chewing sugar-free gum or sucking on sugar-free candies to help stimulate salivary flow. There also are artificial saliva’s on the market that may help to induce salivation. Sialogogues (Pilocarpine 30 mg/day. Contraindications - include many lung conditions, such as asthma, cardiac problems, epilepsy and Parkinson's disease). FOR GUM BLEEDING: You may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. FOR BAD BREATH: • Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. • Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. • You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. • Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth.

Do you really say that scaling will help from halitosis? Ok I will let it done soon which scaling is better hand scaling or ultra sonic.? and should I use moth washes for the same problem halitosis.

It will b difficult to get a place for hand scaling these days however ultrasonic is equally good mouthwashes do help in halitosis but it's you who can do the best for your self keep mouth clean rinse after every intake drink plenty of water remember smelly foods can also b the cause like garlic, onion, alcohol etc.

My son is 2 years old. His is very weak and his teeth are becoming black and getting cavities. Also he is not eating anything means not getting hungry. But he is quite active. Please let me know what may be the reason?

Its called nursing bottle caries or could be rampant caries. After feeding the child the milk will be in the mouth leading to cavity. Make the child drink some water to wash away the milk. However once cavity occurs it requires proper management. Prefer to go to a pedodontist a dentist specialist for children.

Sometimes I feel severe burning sensation not in my mouth but while gulping a banana in my food pipe I think And I get burps for at least 3-4 seconds ×(3-5) times =20 seconds at a stroke and repeat this procedure at least 10 times per day since past two years. And sometimes burp also bring a burning sensation to me that is literally unbearable may I get a solution to my problem.

May be you have acidity. Stop drinking tea, coffee, banana. Don't give more than 3 hrs gap between meals. Avoid spicy and fried I can advise you some medications for acidity also which you have take for 10 days.

  1. Brushing :
  • Brush your teeth twice a day.
  • Night brushing is very important, because during sleep our mouth is at rest so there are more chances of accumulation of bacteria which cause further cavities and leads to disturbance in the oral cavity.
  •  Follow a proper brushing technique.

    2. Use a good fluoridated toothpaste with a right toothbrush. Toothpaste should have 1000ppm of fluoride and toothbrush should have a small and narrow head with soft bristles.

    3. Flossing :

  • Flossing helps to remove food stuck in between your teeth.
  • It can be done daily or 2-3 times a week.
  • Waxed dental flosses available in market are of Oral B, Colgate.

    4. Interdental Brush:

  • If the spaces between the teeth are wide, you can use an interdental brush.                                                                                                  

    5. Oral Irrigation:

  • Now-a-days, a new dental aid is added which helps to clean the teeth, interdental areas, inside the gums and below the crowns more easily.
  • It is also known as dental “Water flosser” or “Oral irrigator” available in brands like waterpik, panasonic etc.

Here are 7 natural ways to help cure the problem of bad breath at the systemic level through diet:


1. Drink more water

Believe it or not, dehydration is one of the most common causes of bad breath. Many people drink far too little water throughout the day to ward off the bacteria in the mouth that are most responsible for causing bad breath. Tiny microbes in the mouth actually feed on loose food particles throughout the day, releasing odor-causing byproducts that end up stinking up breath. And all-natural saliva, it turns out, is your body's built-in remedy for eliminating these bacteria.
It is possible for chronic dry dry mouth conditions to play a part in the development of bad breath. Dry mouth is caused by the decomposition of dead cells in your mouth and on your tongue. This decomposition results in an unpleasant door.

But in order for your body to produce enough bacteria-fighting saliva, you must be drinking plenty of clean, fluoride-free water throughout the day. A generation ago, we would not see so many adolescents with braces as we do currently. Orthodontics, the branch of dentistry involved in the use of braces to align and move teeth to form that perfect arch, has seen rapid advancements in the past few decades and continues to grow at a rapid pace.
The fundamental principle is that the teeth is held in place by surrounding elastic tissues, and minor constant forces can be applied to align them better. Small metal brackets are applied on the teeth and a wire is passed through them so that there is a constant force on the teeth. The amount and direction of force is managed by the doctor. The younger the age, the more elastic the tissue is, the easier it is to move teeth.

There are two main things to understand in terms of your options, relation of age with orthodontic treatment and the choices of braces.

Firstly, correlation with age. Over the years, more people in their 20s and early 30s are choosing to have braces. Though the teeth and more importantly the surrounding periodontium become less elastic with age, the amount of force exerted is increased and therefore tooth movement is enabled. Also, in older patients, tooth removal may be required more frequently to make space for proper alignment.

Secondly, the choices of the braces:

  1. In the earlier days, bands were placed around the teeth and a wire was then connecting all these bands to enable tooth movement. Gradually, this made way to small brackets being placed on the front surface of the teeth, and a wire running through it and elastic bands connecting the bracket and the wire. This is the most effective way of moving teeth, though not esthetic. To make it look different, the ligatures could be colored.
  2. For people who are constantly in the public eye, the metal braces were a deterrent and so lingual braces became popular. The brackets are applied on the inner surface of the teeth and are not seen easily. The amount of force here varies from the earlier one, and not all conditions can be treated by this method.
  3. The next development was the development of ceramic braces, which are also applied to the front surface of the teeth and can be used in most cases. These are more expensive than the metallic braces.
  4. Removable aligners is another option, which are trays which need to be worn for close to 18 hours a day to induce tooth movement. This is esthetic and no metal shows during talking or smiling.

On my down lip. I scratched my down lip with teeth some months ago now it becomes faded color. It is looking like cigarette smoker lips. It really embarrassing please suggest any gels to regain my lip color I showed to doctor he said no problem it will go don't lick with your tongue always on lip. Hello lybrate-user! The loss of pigmentation (colour fading) as you have mentioned is not a major problem to worry about. This could be a temporary loss of pigmentation, which will appear back slowly. I would suggest you to mean while keep the lip moist and not let it get dehaydrated by using a good lip balm which has a sun screen component to it. The pigmentation will slowly come back. Thank you.

I am 37 years old. My tooth is paining due to its shake or movement. It is loosing its roots. I don' t want to loose the original tooth. Is it possible to cure it?

Yes, it is definitely possible to treat such conditions, you have to get proper treatment for your gums with supportive medical cover and maintain your oral hygiene and once the gums are healthy the teeth will gain strength.
