Dear Lybrateuser, - Whenever you start an activity first start with warm up for 5-10 min like if you want to jog, first do walking & gradually increase the pace, also increase the time & intensity of your activity after a week & build up to the target over a period of time - your pain could be due to muscular & other soft tissue problem, stop your activity till pain subsides - do hot fomentation of the affected area three times a day - apply pain relief gel three times a day - take a pain relief tablet after meals if pain is more - get your BP checked & ECG done if you are going to do vigorous activity.

Natural Remedies for High Blood Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure

Natural Remedies for High Blood Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is a condition where the blood flow in the artery creates pressure that is more than normal, which leads to various health complications. If you have high blood pressure, you may not exhibit any symptoms; which makes this disorder very complicated to diagnose.

Natural remedies for blood pressure usually entail the following:

  1. Diet: Diet plays a very important role in blood pressure; so regulating your diet helps by keeping you healthy. Avoid refined grains, such as white rice and refined flour as they have the tendency to spike your blood sugar levels. They may also increase cholesterol levels in the body resulting in health complications.
  2. Exercise: Exercising on a regular basis keeps you healthy and fit. Cardio exercises strengthen the muscles of the heart, thus optimizing your blood pressure levels. Exercise for 30 minutes in a day, 6 days a week.
  3. Quit smoking: If you have been smoking on a regular basis, then it is high time you quit. It not only increases the risk of blood pressure but also ups chances of heart attack and other cardiovascular complications. Blood clots may form in the arteries because of smoking, thus leading to life threatening disorders.
  4. Alcohol: Restrict alcohol consumption as it increases the risk of blood pressure. Alcohol in excess may also cause you to become obese, in addition to many other health issues.
  5. Keep a check on your weight: If you are overweight, then look to lose the flab because the chances of being affected by blood pressure exactly double if you are obese. Regulate your diet and exercise on a regular basis to keep your weight in check.
  6. Reduce salt intake: Consumption of salt causes your body to retain water, which in turn increases your blood pressure. Reducing salt consumption has been shown to reduce blood pressure levels as well. Avoid all sorts of processed foods, especially the ones deep fried in oil and laden with salt.
  7. Consume more fruits: Include plenty of fruits in your diet as they provide you with necessary nutrients. Increasing fruit intake has also been linked to optimal blood pressure levels. Go for 3-4 servings of fruit every day.

Dear Lybrateuser, -Along with the medication you have be very careful about your diet as you had a ulcer -avoid spicy, fried & junk food completely, have 4-5 small meals including snacks rather than 3 large meals as an empty stomach will aggravate your condition, do not skip meals, have meals on time, give about 1-2 hrs before you lye down after meals, avoid tea, coffee, cold drinks, alcohol, tobacco if you consume -do not stop medicines unless told by your doctor as in your case you have to continue it, stopping it will give rise to pain -consult a gastroenterologist for investigation & proper medication for your problem.

There some reversible factors and some non-reversible factors that lead to derangement of blood pressure. Stress, high salty food, smoking, excessive intake of caffeine and lack of exercise are these reversible factors. Age related firmness of body vessels, Diabetes and genetic reasons etc are non-reversible. You can try and remove or reduce the reversible factors to see if it brings down your BP, but even after that if BP remains above optimal level, then you will need medical therapy as well.

I am having high bp please advice me what to do bp is 180 of 120.Please suggest me something.
Please go and consult a cardiologist locally because at your age this BP is extremely unhealthy. If you are by any chance taking any gym supplements or steroid shots please stop immediately. You should get a ECG, ECHO, RFT, Lipid profiledone and consult the doctor. And immediately begin with lifestyle measures like - 1) Daily 30 mins of brisk walking or swimming or jogging. 2) Eating a heart healthy diet and avoiding food containing excessive or extra salt like namkeens, chips, papads, bhujiya, pickles, sauces, chutneys etc. 3) Quit smoking and drinking. 4) Avoid weight lifting or heavy strength training.

At 14 years his bp particularly systolic is high. Ideally it should be closer to 105 to 110 and diastolic around 60 to 70 mm. If father has diabetes, then children can get it. But it is a preventable condition. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle one can prevent or postpone it.
